1 – 19 of 19 Works in Wyatt Hayes & Ilya Rozanov

  • Wyatt Hayes & Ilya Rozanov ×
  1. Box office manager Gabriella Marchaud returns from vacation to find her work best friend Ilya Rozanov spiraling into a playoff-induced depression.

To pull him back from the brink, she devises a ridiculous plan: lure him back to Ottawa for a night of glitter, drunken chaos, and the transformative power of Eurovision.

But she can't do it alone. She needs a team of hockey players willing to learn the sacred art of Europe's greatest cultural event—through 67 pages of history, two semi finals of training, and the kind of ridiculous joy that might just save Ilya from himself.

    Or

Gabriella recruits the Centaurs into watching Eurovision so she can save Ilya from playoff depression.

  2. “What do you want, Rozanov?”

Once upon a time, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov had been something of fated rivals. And then. Rozanov's national team crashed and burned in the 2014 Olympics in his own country. Shortly thereafter, he requested a trade to a Canadian team without much explanation, and by the end of the season, he was playing for Ottawa. Years of buildup and progress thrown away. The rivalry lost its luster after that, with Rozanov hardly a competition.

Now, Rozanov was looking at Shane as if they shared a private joke. “I have, ah, Marly, what's the word? Proposition? Proposal?”

“Business offer,” groaned Marlow, drawing his eyebrows together.

“That,” Rozanov smirked. “Let's sit down, Hollander. Hear me out.”

Or: Shane and Ilya never started hooking up. Several years into their career, some things are very different. At an All-Star game, the only out and proud player in the MLH approaches Shane with the suggestion to start a charity together. It's the beginning of something life changing.

  3. Sequel to Breathing Room

Ilya Rozanov has spent five years holding Shane Hollander at arm’s length - not because he didn’t love him, but because he loved him too much to ask him to risk everything for something that could fall apart. He was good at that: the careful distance, the walls that looked like indifference, the way he’d learned to be close without being close. He’d had a lot of practice.

What he didn’t have practice for was what came after he was done lying to himself. He didn’t have practice for this - for something warm and bright and absolutely terrifying. Something that fits in the spaces between games and cities and the distance between Boston and Raleigh. Something that makes Ilya think, for the first time in a long time, that maybe the risk is worth it.

He just needs to figure out what to do with it all before their careers swallow them whole

He doesn’t get the chance to think about it for very long.

  4. Recovery isn't linear.
Knowing this, and believing it, are two different things.

Shane moves to Ottawa, ready to finally spend time with his soulmate, properly. Maybe the excitement is why he doesn't always notice.

Ilya wins the Cup with Shane at his side, but it doesn't matter as much as it should have. Not when his body hurts and his mind is fragile and he feels one moment away from collapse.

Timeline goes back and forth, but we start off one year after the events of the previous story.
In the end, everything will be okay.

  5. Time loops are just a fact of life to Wyatt, insane as that sounds. He’ll happily settle in for a repeat day every couple of weeks. Chances are he’ll wake up tomorrow morning and go to regularly scheduled practice. A teammate probably pissed off their wife, which is an easily fixed problem.

  16. "Waitt a minute Barrett why'd ya take a drink," Young slurred with his eyes narrowed, "Harris don't play hockey." Well shit. Of course one of the rookies had to notice, those morons never let anything go. So now everyone and their fucking mothers had turned to stare at Troy who could only let out an awkward laugh. Well this sobered him up. "Harris probably wasn't the first guy he slept with you idiot, he grew up playing hockey maybe it was an old teammate," Holmber said to Young whom he was still currently draped over. "Nooo papa Hazy said professional hockey player, so it has to be someone in the league," Young argued back. The rookies had all taken to calling Wyatt variations of dad and followed him around like a bunch of baby ducks. Troy woulda laughed at the endearing nickname was he not about to get his shit rocked by a 6' 3'' Russian in the parking lot. Because of every hockey player Troy Barrett could've slept with he just had to hook up with Shane mother fucking Hollander. ----- Or the Ottawa Centaurs play never have I ever ----- UPDATE

  19. Wyatt was not, like, nosy. For sure, he was interested. He was curious. He engaged with people, obviously, because most people were interesting and engaging and had cool thoughts and said neat stuff if you asked.

So, no. Wyatt wasn’t nosy, but he wasn’t stupid, either.
