  1. “What were you doing in between one and four?”

Ilya clenches his jaw. He says nothing. Clearly, she smells blood.

“Mister Rozanov,” she leans forward, grabbing the desk as she enunciates, “what were you doing between one and four in the morning?”

Fucking Shane Hollander for the last time, it seems.

Why does the police of this shitty small town care?

    Or

After an exhibition game in a small town, the Montreal Metros and the Boston Raiders find themselves trapped in a hotel by a dangerous snow storm. Perfect for two hockey players sneaking around to hook up, right? But when a violent crime is committed in the hotel, everyone in both teams becomes a suspect. And there is nowhere to go.

  2. The right thing to do with an unjust war is to lose it. The right thing to do in a battle is to win it. Ilya Rozanov has won every battle and lost the war, which ought, by some reckoning, to leave him twice in the right.

He is sent across the sea as the hostage instead, handed over to the very kingdom he spent eighteen months burning in his father’s name. If the heavens keep accounts, they keep them badly.

  4. Shane is hiding something that could end his career. Ilya is the kind of person who doesn’t stop until he finds it. What starts as rivalry turns into fixation. Because something about Shane doesn’t make sense, his control, his scent, the way he reacts. And Ilya doesn’t like unsolved patterns. He likes breaking them open. Even if it breaks Shane with it. Not instinct. Not luck. Not being an alpha. Control. So when he watches Shane play, he sees it immediately, something precise, something careful, something just out of reach. Something hidden. And Ilya has never been good at leaving things alone.

  5. “You need to calm down,” Ilya says. “You will wear out your fancy sneakers.”

“Is this a joke to you?!” Shane snaps, turning so sharply that his Rebooks squeak against the warehouse’s cement. “It’s not fucking funny. These guys could fucking ruin everything.”

Ilya clenches his jaw. Shane is scared and he hates that there’s nothing he can do to fix it. Ever since the video landed in both their inboxes, neither of them has had a good night’s sleep.

    or

One year into their relationship a video risks exposing Shane and Ilya’s relationship. To protect their secret, they will need to do as the backmailers demand. But how far are they willing to go? And what if there’s more going on that meets the eye?

  8. Shane Hollander begins his NHL career unchallenged when Ilya Rozanov enters the KHL after World Juniors. One season of being allowed to terrorize the ice and the Winner’s Room is enough for Boston to drag Ilya out of Russia.

What they had not accounted for in releasing a second generational talent into the league was that not all predators are solitary. Ilya may want to bring Hollander to his knees, but he wants to present the defeat of an inferior player to his feet first.

He just has to convince Hollander to let him.

  9. Shane has found a place where he cannot be hurt. There is little enough in it, but what there is is kind: warm lights, a quiet that answers to him, and, in time, a ghost who remembers stolen plums and a husband who waited up for him with the lamps lit.

Shane remembers the husband differently. He listens anyway.

  10. For half a decade, every hockey player who wins Rookie of the Year has been found dead within a year of holding the trophy. It’s enough to make even a minimally superstitious athlete a little… concerned. But Shane Hollander isn’t worried about the supposed Calder Curse—until he ends up splitting the award with Ilya Rozanov.

  11. “What makes you so confident you can handle him when Montreal couldn’t?” A reporter asks.

“Because he actually listens to me. Montreal didn’t have a damn clue how to handle guys like him. Me? Oh, I already got this kid under my thumb.”

Once celebrated as the NHL’s most promising young player, Shane Hollander’s rookie season collapses after brutally attacking a teammate during a nationally televised playoff game, leaving him suspended, publicly disgraced, and traded to the Boston Raiders.

Months later, Shane arrives in Boston determined to keep his head down and prove himself. But Ilya Rozanov has already taken an unsettling interest in him.

  12. Shane and Ilya get arrested hours after Team Canada wins the World Junior Championship. From one day to the next, their lives are flipped upside down. As prisoners – er, incarcerated persons –, they are no longer climbing the hockey social ladder. They are no longer rival captains and star hockey players bearing responsibility for their nations’ and their future MLH teams’ hopes. They are nothing more than cellmates awaiting trial, caught in a tedious cycle of empty days where privacy is a distant memory. However will they pass the time?

Good thing they have each other. Now if only they could be honest about their feelings... Ideally, before they're released and face the legal and professional consequences of their venture into crime.

  13. “I want to meet her.” he managed to say through the wave of emotion coursing through him. “No.” Shane said, as if there was no possibility Ilya would ever get to meet his daughter. “You don’t get to decide when I see my child.” Ilya said, trying desperately to keep his voice calm, not wanting to give Shane more reason to believe he was still the violent person he left seven years ago “Yes I do. I am not going to let my child be collateral in the war you’re in with your brother like I was.” “I am legit now. I promise. After you left I have spent the last seven years cleaning us up. We do nothing criminal. I have no connections to Alexei and Russia anymore. Just let me meet her.” “No. Not until you prove it to me. I will not let any part of that life affect her.” “Can you at least tell me her name” “Her name is Masha. Well it’s Mariya, but we all call her Masha.” Or Shane Hollander found out he was pregnant with Russian Mafia member Ilya Rozanov's child and ran away. Seven years later Ilya has broken off ties to his brother and found Shane and his daughter. He wants to meet her.

  14. "You sure about this?” Pike asked as Ilya made it to the door.

The scent was so strong here it felt like Ilya was walking through a cloud of aerosolized candy. It felt sticky on his skin, in his hair. Ilya could feel the warm flush on the tops of his ears, across his cheeks. He blinked a few times, letting the beta’s words sink in. “Yes, fine,” he growled back.

Thankfully, it didn’t seem like Pike was affected at all, thanks to his scent-blind beta nose. “So… there’s no easy way to say this,” the man said nervously. “The guys totally fucked up.” He handed over a plain black wallet.

Ilya opened it, found the Boston College ID card and pulled it out. A handsome Asian boy looked back at him. He had short black hair, warm golden skin, and dark eyes. There was a shadow stretched across his cheeks, something Ilya couldn’t quite make out in the tiny picture. Shane Hollander, the card read. Sophmore.

“How the hell do they make this mistake?” Ilya half-shouted. He snarled again, fought against it, got his face under control. “Fuck.”

    “Yeah,” Pike agreed. “Fuck.”

  18. Sequel to Breathing Room

Ilya Rozanov has spent five years holding Shane Hollander at arm’s length - not because he didn’t love him, but because he loved him too much to ask him to risk everything for something that could fall apart. He was good at that: the careful distance, the walls that looked like indifference, the way he’d learned to be close without being close. He’d had a lot of practice.

What he didn’t have practice for was what came after he was done lying to himself. He didn’t have practice for this - for something warm and bright and absolutely terrifying. Something that fits in the spaces between games and cities and the distance between Boston and Raleigh. Something that makes Ilya think, for the first time in a long time, that maybe the risk is worth it.

He just needs to figure out what to do with it all before their careers swallow them whole

He doesn’t get the chance to think about it for very long.

  19. Recovery isn't linear.
Knowing this, and believing it, are two different things.

Shane moves to Ottawa, ready to finally spend time with his soulmate, properly. Maybe the excitement is why he doesn't always notice.

Ilya wins the Cup with Shane at his side, but it doesn't matter as much as it should have. Not when his body hurts and his mind is fragile and he feels one moment away from collapse.

Timeline goes back and forth, but we start off one year after the events of the previous story.
In the end, everything will be okay.

    OR

Dallas Kent meant to roofie and take home a beautiful girl, but instead Ilya Rozanov interferes with his plans. Annoyed at his plans being foiled, Dallas decides that he’ll have to make do with Ilya instead. If only Scott Hunter hadn’t shown up.
