Then Ilya reached over and gently tapped Logan’s nose. “You never told us what you wished for.” Logan’s eyes widened immediately. “Oh.” Shane smiled softly. “You know, when you blew out your candles?” For a moment Logan looked suspicious, like perhaps wishes were classified information. Then he leaned closer dramatically. “I wished for Isla.” Silence. Shane blinked. “…Who’s Isla, baby?” Logan looked at him like this should’ve been obvious. “My baby.” Or Shane and Ilya give Logan the sibling he wished for on his third birthday.

Ilya gripped the envelope tighter. “The MVP,” he began slowly, still staring directly at Shane, “is…” Another pain slammed into Shane so hard his vision whited out. “…Shane Hollander.” The room exploded with cheers and applause . People rising to their feet. Shane barely heard any of it. His father hugged him first. Then Yuna. “Sweetheart,” she whispered against his ear, “you don’t look well. I don’t think you should be going up there alone..” He couldn’t answer. He stood carefully. Ignoring the concerned look both of his parents threw his way. The pressure between his hips was unbearable now. Every step toward the stage felt wrong. Painful. Wet. Why was it wet? Or Shane goes into labor at the NHL awards with a son they didn’t even know existed.

Ilya leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, a silhouette painted in moonlight and shadow. And Shane thought, as he often had, that he might explode from loving this man so much. That thank god they’d had a kid because now Shane had someone else important and hallowed to pour this love into, or else it might be too much to bear.

“Sylvia,” Shane murmured, clearly mortified.
“What?” she said innocently. “I’m just saying. And I’m also saying that a certain someone here, hasn’t stopped staring at someone else since they walked in. Their partner has been doing all of the work.” A brow was quirked towards the Russian paramedic.
Ilya nearly dropped his gauze “Da- I mean no, I—” he started, then stopped, flustered.
Shane looked like he wanted the floor to swallow him whole.
Cliff snorted under his breath and turned away, suddenly very interested in the supply bag.
Sylvia leaned toward Shane. “Ask for his number,” she whispered loudly enough that it wasn’t a whisper at all. “They’ll be taking me away in T-minus five minutes. You don’t wanna miss your shot kiddo!”
Or Shane is a Librarian and Ilya is a Paramedic. They meet , fall in love, have a baby together . Oh and Shane is Autistic and worries a lot.

5 times Yuna Hollander is there for Shane, and 1 time Ilya Rozanov is.
“You know, you used to say that the noise of fireworks or the ocean scared your ears,” she says softly, smiling at the fond memory.
“I'm not scared,” Shane grunts defensively.
His shoulders are tense and his jaw is clenched. Yuna sighs. “I didn't say you were,” she reassures.

Ilya had never really let himself picture it before. Not for too long, anyway. Himself at twelve, standing in that doorway, seeing her lifeless body on the bed. He didn’t have any photographs of himself from that age, which made it easier to keep the memory at a distance. Just a fact. Something that happened to a version of himself he barely remembered being. Niko turning twelve closed that distance. Ilya is going through a depressive episode. Which is hitting differently now that his son is the same age he was when his mom died.

“I’m sorry I’m not him,” Shane says, looking away.
“Who?”
“Future me. Whoever you fell in love with.” What’s unsaid hangs in the air: whoever fell in love with you. Because this Shane – 2010 Shane – doesn’t love him. Is amused by their daily lessons, comforted by his presence, even grateful. But love?
“That’s the thing, Shane,” Ilya says. His eyes are shining. “You are, right now, exactly who I fell in love with.”
In 2031, Shane wakes up in the hospital certain that it's 2010. Ilya is there to remind him of the two decades he's missed and the life they've built along the way.

Aleksei is seven when his father remarries. He is nine when Yulia is born.
If things had been a little different, he would have hated her. He was prone to envy at that stage: restless, anxious, without purpose. Jealousy would have eaten him through and left room for something uglier to move in. It doesn’t, because Yulia loves him first.
Aleksei is nine and furious at the world, and he doesn’t stand a chance. His heart cracks, breaks and swallows her whole.

[An image of this year’s NHL East All-Star team, including Ilya Rozanov, Shane Hollander, Wyatt Hayes, Troy Barrett, Carter Vaughn, and Scott Hunter, all smiling after winning this year’s NHL All-Star Game in Las Vegas] @NHLInsider There’s rumor going around that Page Six has evidence from last weekend’s All-Star Game that two NHL players are romantically linked. Checking my sources to see what I can find out. Will update later. This could have huge implications if true. Posted on February 12 2:30 pm *** @ssmith20 wut? @rozanoff no way fuck boy rozanov is involved in this. my money’s on barrett and hollander. @luverofhockey holy shit. if this is true, it’s going to be insane @hattrickzzzz @luverofhockey would it really be all that surprising? Hockey is one of the most homoerotic sports in existence. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if they had whole team orgies after every game. @shanehollanderswife there’s no way that reddit post about Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov being a couple is correct, right? ….right?
