  1. A few months after the FanMail incident, Yuna Hollander decides to do what she does best. With the added benefit of having another son to lovingly manage, of course. The internet, unsurprisingly, loses its shit.

Or, Shane and Ilya go on the press run to end all press runs, courtesy of Yuna Hollander.

  2. This is a sorta fix-it. For when Scott asks Kip to move in with him he forgot the simple fact that his door has always more closely resembled a revolving one as people come and go bringing their problems with them and the Good Captain Scott Hunter fixes them as best as he can. Allowing for Kip to have the opportunity to be brought closer to Scott's hockey world and allows him to better understand what Scott is really risking in regards to coming out while still playing hockey. Also, helps to break down that Scott only sees his value in his usefulness and Kip is determined to make him understand that his value is inherent just by existing and is NOT a reward he gets from helping others.

Vaughny also pops up a lot. He's clueless but he's got heart... and tacos

Majority of the chapters are General Audience, the ones that are Explicit will be noted in the Author's Note at the beginning of a chapter.

  5. Summer in Russia was never easy for Ilya. His father's insults, Alexei's never-ending greed, the secrets he had to keep - it was a heavy weight to carry.

But now he is finally free, with a few weeks left until hockey season, and an itch to scratch. So he books a ticket to Spain, where no one cares about hockey, or who Ilya Rozanov is and who he fucks.

Things are going well until one night, Ilya gets roofied at a gay club and is saved by none other than Scott Hunter.

  6. “Hunter,” he said, all self-satisfied smirking before he’d so much as said hello, sliding his phone onto the table between them. “You are not in bed yet? Is very late.”

“Rozanov,” he said, lips pressed in a resigned half-smile. “You don’t have anything better to do?”

“No,” Rozanov shrugged, pouting so minutely Scott thought the expression might actually have been sincere, not meant for him to see. “My plus-one could not make it.”

Ah. Now that, he could commiserate with. Though he seriously doubted that Rozanov was missing whatever poor woman he had attempted to sweet-talk into a slinky dress and onto his arm for the red carpet as much as Scott missed Kip. “That sucks. Mine neither.”

In the frozen shadows of Montreal, Dr. Shane Hollander is the city’s most brilliant trauma surgeon, precise, untouchable, and relentlessly perfect. He lives by rules, ethics, and the suffocating expectations of a life he’s never dared question. That is, until Ilya Rozanov crashes into his emergency room like a storm straight from Siberia. Ilya is a ghost from a brutal Russian mafia dynasty: rich beyond measure, dangerously charming, and running for his life

  8. Then Scott Hunter looked at him, really looked at him with no panic or consternation or grief, just something heavy and piercing that made Ilya feel like his heart was on the outside of his ribcage. “Be safe out there, okay?”

“Okay,” Ilya said, softer than intended.

In real life, they both turned around and walked away into the night. But in Ilya’s memory, that never happens. They just stand there, eye-to-eye, until the sun comes up and it’s too bright to see anything else.

  9. Svetlana knows about Jane. It's frankly insulting for Ilyusha to think otherwise. She just never expected to have to call him for help. During the Olympics. In Russia. In the dead of night. - Or, it's Sochi 2014 and Russia has lost to Latvia. Grigori Rozanov, not yet compromised by illness, punishes his son for shaming the family. When Svetlana finds an injured and emotionally fragile Ilya, she knows she needs somewhere safe for him to recover. And there's only one person in Russia who Sveta trusts with her Ilyusha: Canada's Golden Boy, Shane Hollander.

  10. “Fuck. All that Serial Killer talk was you warning me, wasn’t it?” Kip said in a joking tone.

Scott glanced at him. Because yes, he was right. It had been a warning. And like a lamb to the slaughter, Kip had still walked into his trap.

  11. “You like this.” Ilya said more like a statement than a question.

    “Like what?”

“When I said that this is something serious.”

    Shane blushed and looked away.

Ilya gently grabbed Shane's chin and brought his face up to meet Ilya’s eyes.

    “I like it too.”

    OR

Shane and Ilya don’t hook up until a little later on in their story, but not for lack of trying or interest. When they do finally get together, things move faster and feelings are expressed sooner. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t difficult moments to overcome on the path to their happy ending.

This story is an exploration of a completely alternative timeline in the Hollanov love story—using a combination of the show and the original Heated Rivalry and Long Game books. There will be pining, yearning, big emotional moments, and angsty roadblocks. With, of course, a very happy ending for our boys.

  12. Scott and Ilya put up a united front against all the homophobic assholes in the league. Well, maybe not that united. But at least they're changing the narrative a bit, one homophobe at a time.

  13. Sometimes, Ilya Rozanov is just a weird guy. Obviously, the Bears aren’t going to say that to his face, not when he’ll chirp them into oblivion for it, but sometimes it just gets out of hand.

Like the late night phone calls where he’s talking aggressively in Russian. The random knowledge he has offhand about how far you can throw a human being and have them come out okay. The Russian death metal he forces them to listen to, calling it family bonding. The scars he refuses to talk about.

Cliff Marleau thinks he might be in the Russian mob. The Bratva, or whatever they call it.

Ilya doesn't tell his team about his family until they've already invented a thousand conspiracies about it. Like him being in the mob. Or having rabies.

In which Ilya Rozanov and Yuri Plisetsky are brothers, and the world changes with the most minute of connections.

Now featuring Shane and Ilya's POVs on the canon divergence starting from chapter 5.

  14. Following Shane and Scott's fight on the ice, Ilya completely loses his mind, and thinks it's a good idea to break into Scott's home and attempt to physically assault him for an, at worst, ambiguously homophobic comment (and, far more likely, a mere jab at their famous rivalry). Scott informs him that, not only does he not have any idea about Shane and Ilya (because he has a life, and is not a television viewer following their actions at all times, nor does he have an encyclopedic memory of every awkward encounter he's had over the last few years) but that his actions are downright illegal, not to mention insanely homophobic.

Or: the author is a gay man who has seen way too many fics with this disgustingly homophobic premise, and he is so very tired.

  16. “Scott Hunter is next door, yes?”

“No way we're asking him for help. What would we even say? Hey Hunter, we were just fucking each other next door, and I broke my leg, and by the way, we think you're gay, so wanna help us?”

    Or

Ilya and Shane just spent a great night together after the All-Star Game. Life is good.

Until Shane trips and breaks his leg, and they have to figure out what to do so he isn't found in his biggest rival's hotel room at 2 am.

Ilya has an idea. It involves asking Scott Hunter for help.

  18. Shane does not know what he is staring at when he reads the name of the chat and the influx of texts.

This looks like actual hell, and more importantly why on earth would Ilya add him to the Boston WAGS chat?

TLDR: In an attempt to socialise in this new country Ilya puts 'jane' down as his WAG to connect to the team, this has unforeseen consequences for himself.

  19. Ilya's heart shouldn’t be pounding at the prospect of having Shane in his arms once again. And yet, it was. When Ilya exited the club, he saw Shane inside a sensible car—a blue Jeep. Seconds later, the car was skirting off the gravel road. Ilya tried his best not to be disappointed, or hurt, but managed neither. (Or Alt. post-club scene from Ilya's POV. He finds Shane's car pulled on the side of the road. They talk.)
