  1. It turned out the hockey season was a lot more hectic with a full social life in the BDSM club scene and a fiancé who he could never quite escape from. Not to mention wedding planning? God, Shane was in over his head. All he wanted to do was shut his mind off and be a kitty.

"I don't mean to come here and freak you out," Scott said, though he knew there was no avoiding it. He'd been where they were before. It had felt like he was dying, back then. "I just don't want you to think you're the only ones, okay? There's lots of us."

Their eyes snapped to him in unison, startled and intense. Hollander croaked, "What?"

"There's over sixteen hundred guys in the MLH and AHL," he reminded them, because it had felt improbable to him when he first heard until he remembered the sheer size of the hockey world. "There's — well, we don't know how many of us there are, but there's at least seventeen of us that know each other. Plus you two. We watch out for each other."

His eyes enormous, Hollander asked, "There's, what? A secret underground gay hockey network?"

    Scott shrugged. "Yeah, basically."

Ilya and Shane find their way into The Tennis Club, a network of closeted hockey players that hook up - so long as everyone keeps it casual. Which is no problem! They can do casual, right?

  5. Jake asked if Asher had any family he could contact for him. “We wouldn’t even need to tell them what happened, Asher,” he’d said, like the problem was that Asher needed convincing.

“I don’t have any family,” Asher had said. He’d spoken in that same dead-sounding voice that he knew seriously unnerved people, but he couldn’t help it; he’d still been perfecting his normal-person voice at that point. “I never knew my mom. My dad is dead.”

Jake had deflated visibly but tried again and asked about friends.

Asher had stared at him for a little too long but eventually produced a response after the assistant trainer’s question had spent a moment rattling around his head. “I had a boyfriend,” he’d said. He’d smiled, like a reflex. Asher wasn’t even really thinking of Gabe specifically but rather the simple concept that he’d Had A Boyfriend, But Now He Doesn’t. “Kent kinda ruined that for me.”

  6. Harris: So, you know that cooking video I had Troy and Shane make?

    Ilya: Yes?

Harris: It's genuinely one of the most painful things I've ever seen on camera.

Harris: Like I've seen horror movies that made me feel more at ease than this.

Ilya: Were you expecting anything less?

Ilya: They are the biggest disasters we know.

    Ilya: **Affectionate**

Harris: I mean, I guess I was just hoping it'd be super cute, you know?

Harris: Two buff gay elite jocks cooking chicken parm? You can't go wrong, right?

Ilya: Except when your two buff gay elite jocks cooking chicken parmesan are Shane 'small talk is a disease' Hollander and Troy 'awkward is a lifestyle' Barrett.

Harris: Yeah, I should have known.

Harris: This is what I get for being an optimist.

Harris: And a greedy gay man who wants to edit videos of hot men cooking good food.

Harris: Want to do a voice over for me so maybe I can salvage this?

    Ilya: Of course.

    Ilya: Any parameters?

Harris: Oh, you know. Just don't embarrass me too much.

Ilya: Send it to me and I will get it done ❤️

  7. Shane Hollander has built himself around routine, his life blood is hockey. Struggling to understand his team off the ice and the people around him, he carves out a few silent hours to himself. It's just him and his skates. But the hard fought peace is fragile, like cracks in too thin ice. It only takes a slight impact to shatter. Shane is fighting to hold his team and himself together as everything comes crashing down around him.

Someone hacks into Rose Landry's phone in a club, they then release the images of Shane's texts online and all hell breaks loose. Shane is left to pick up the pieces. Ilya makes some choices in the aftermath that change everything. Shane decides to stop hiding and Ilya is a possessive asshole who makes it everyone else's problem. With far less reason to hide himself anymore, Shane begins to show more of who he really is behind the polite, media worthy façade. They instead find a team who are ready to fight the world for each other and a found family that has far reaching threads.

Maybe Shane can have both Hockey and Ilya. The world will just have to deal with it.

Flight 771 shouldn't have been any different than any of the hundreds of other flights that Shane has taken over the course of his career, aside from the fact that it was taking him towards his lifelong dream—towards the Olympics.

It shouldn't have been any different.

  15. [The Ottawa Centaurs are scattered around their locker room after practice in various states of undress. The camera walks up to Coach Brandon Wiebe, a hand extending with a cup that holds multiple pieces of paper. Wiebe smiles at the camera and reaches in to pull out a slip, he looks at it, and then reads.]

Wiebe: Shake the hand of the player that is the baby of the team.

[Wiebe's smiles grows, his eyes traveling across the room as he begins to walk toward Luca Haas. He holds out his hand and Luca's already flushed face grows even more read as he reluctantly shakes his coach's hand back.]

Luca: Seriously, Coach? Not you, too. I'm almost twenty two for fuck's sake.

[Next to Luca, Zane Boodram grins and pats Luca on the back and Ilya Rozanov calls from nearby.]

Ilya: You are not old enough to say fuck until you can explain what it means!

Wiebe: You might be the baby of the family, but that doesn't mean you're not great at what you do. You score lots of goals and you remind Ilya that he's supposed to act like an adult at least occasionally.

Shane: Trust me, that's a very important job.

  16. “You dropped out of college!” Svetlana repeated as she threw her hands up. “You had two semesters left in Boston! You were top of your program! You talked about moving to New York, opening your own firm, taking over the world—and now your big life ambition is sitting on a plush couch in the Canadian tundra waiting for Mr. Real Estate to finish his stock trades?”

Ilya laid his fork down with a deliberate clink against the ceramic plate. He rested his elbows on the table, leaning forward, his blue eyes sharp and terrifyingly clear.

“Sveta,” he began, his tone dropping into that familiar, authority. “In Boston, I woke up at six every morning to run in the freezing rain. I spent eight hours in lectures surrounded by rich idiots who thought they were geniuses because their dads bought a building. I spent four hours every night memorizing financial models I already knew how to build in my sleep, just so some eighty-year-old professor could give me a checkmark on a piece of paper. The point is, why would I fight the world when I can just enjoy the simple pleasures of life? I spent my whole life surviving. Shanya gave me a place where I don’t have to.”

  17. “It is nice to meet you, Shane Hollander.” Ilya nods his head at the crumpled paper in Shane’s hand. “What is that you have there?” “Oh.” Shane’s cheeks are a perpetual state of flushed red. “Before I came, I made a list of, um, things I am looking for in a car? Practical things, I guess. I didn’t want to forget.” Ilya’s lips quiver, and he resists the urge to let an incredibly fond smile overtake his face. This tall, muscular omega could not be more precious if he was made of teddy bears and heart stickers. “May I see it?” Ilya inquires, extending his hand again. With visible reluctance, Shane passes over the piece of notebook paper. Ilya glances up at Shane, arching an eyebrow. The omega smiles shyly at him, his warm brown eyes glimmering. “Am I completely out of my mind to try and find all of these things in one car?” he asks. “I never let a customer leave unhappy.” He winks at Shane, who lets out a small, startled laugh. It’s an utterly breathtaking sound, even as brief as it is. -ilya is a single, playboy alpha car salesman. shane is a pregnant, unmated omega, trying to start his life over. they meet, and starting over gets a bit more complicated-

Please you have to take her back, I can't sleep with her creepy humanlike eyes staring at me.

Seriously name your price, lie to Ilya and tell him you found her old family and take her away please🙏

In late October, Ilya picks up some kind of freakish Canadian flu that dogs him into November.

It is the weirdest shit. He has to duck out of practice because his nose starts bleeding twice in one week and he wakes up in a hotel in Columbus with another one that leaves stains on the pillow. On the flight back to Ottawa, Hazy drops into the seat next to Ilya midflight and asks, "This isn't, like, a cocaine thing, right?"

Ilya laughs so hard it's probably a little rude.

They have a plan. Ilya's body has a different plan.
