Boston is vicious tonight, answered in full by Montreal, with both teams acting as if it's a playoffs game instead of a March regulation game.
He has no idea what Ilya's said to them, has no idea why they're all so motivated, but he can't stop himself from feeling deeply fucking pleased at the thought of such good hockey being played for a chance to fuck him.
He knows that Ilya can spot the bright flush of greed, the hunger painted in the curl of his lips as they fight for the puck. The damp, wet pant of his mouth only reminds him of other, equally as pleasurable places he's heard it, despite his best efforts, and by the time the third ends, he's fighting to breathe through his arousal, his whole body aching from the game.
OR: It's the last regulation game of the season before Ilya moves to Ottawa. Shane doesn't want the Bears to worry, but he doesn't mind the chance to prove it—he'll take care of Ilya perfectly. After all, he can take care of all of them, can't he?

Outside, bugs swarm around the porch light. A half-moon hangs over the dark swath of lake, spider-spun white daubed across the oil-spill surface. That perfect day on the water was less than a week ago. The scabs on Ilya’s ankle haven’t even healed.
