  1. The scream that rips its way out of Shane’s chest is feral, inhuman. A wretched, mournful wail being torn from his body by the bony hands of grief. He collapses to his knees and sobs, anguish pouring out of him like a tidal wave. Suddenly there are arms around him, but they’re not the right ones. Not Ilya. Or, Ilya’s plane goes down.

  2. Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov have been best friends since they were twelve. They were attached at the hip, as much as two straight guys could be. Everyone accepted that Shane and Ilya were just being Shane and Ilya. Or: Shane and Ilya think they know where to draw the line between straight best friends and whatever the hell they keep doing.

  3. A teenage Ilya arrives at an elite six-month development programme already planning to kill himself. Shane keeps accidentally interrupting his suicide attempts because he’s obsessed with rules, routine, and following proper protocol.

  4. Shane is the steady ground he stands upon, the hand that guides him, the very air that he breathes. They’re so entwined now, that Ilya is certain he would cease to exist if ever they were separated. It’s maybe becoming a problem. Or, 5 times Ilya and Shane try (and fail) not to be codependent, and 1 time they just give into it.

  5. It’s his Person.

Missed you missed you missed you, he tries to convey with no mouth and no voice and all his heart. He’s reborn the way he died; the name of his Person nestled safe against his tongue.

“Ilya,” Shane gasps, and his heart beats again.

Shane Hollander dies the second Ilya Rozanov’s plane goes down. It just takes a while for his body to catch up.

Thankfully, death isn't permanent — for either of them. Their tangled souls have been given a second chance at life, and they’re going to act like it. Which means never separating again. Ever.

After all, death can’t part them. Why should hockey?

  6. A fiery plane crash claims Ilya Rozanov’s life in January. By April, Shane Hollander is dead of a broken heart. The truth dies with them.

Yuna Hollander will do anything to get her son back, including hiring a shady shaman to resurrect him. There’s just one complication — Shane isn’t coming back alone.

Now there are codependent (not)zombies in her house wearing Ilya and Shane’s faces. When they inexplicably act more like a married couple than the bitter rivals she expected, Yuna is convinced that they came back wrong.

It’s easier than admitting she never understood them from the start.

  7. (summary and tags contain SPOILERS for earlier works in the series!)

Shane and Ilya are champions. They are partners, and they’re in it for life. And people are starting to notice.

After being traumatically outed two years ago, Shane and Ilya's relationship and their lives have been fundamentally changed, and most days, Shane thinks that's a good thing. But sometimes, the pressure of being out, and the endless online speculation about #hollanov, and rumors running rampant through the NHL, and a new generation of rookies looking up to them, and the knowledge that everyone is relying on Shane Hollander to be perfect at all times—sometimes it's a lot.

But Shane's dealing with it. Ilya seems happier than he's ever been, and Shane just needs to get his act together to support his husband. He can do that. He needs to, and he will, if he doesn't crack under the pressure first.

They've got a second Stanley Cup to win, after all.

  8. Hudson and Connor are best friends. Both are in stable relationships, and they’re about to begin filming the second season of Heated Rivalry. But a matching bracelet becomes the breaking point. Not only between them and their partners, but between the two of them as well. It marks the beginning of a deeper realization: what exists between them can no longer be defined as just friendship.

"Because he’s my best friend," he said through his teeth.

"And I’m your boyfriend," François replied without raising his voice. "But when you’re tired, when you’re scared, when you start to doubt… you don’t choose me."

Silence fell between them again, more unbearable than before.

"I’m not saying you don’t love me," he added, quieter. "I’m saying I’m not the place where your heart comes to rest."

Connor swallowed. His throat felt tight, like anything he said would break something else.

    "That’s not fair…"

"Maybe it’s not," François admitted, looking at him with a mix of exhaustion and pain. "But it’s my truth, and Connor, the truth is it hurts like hell to love someone who’s always looking somewhere else."

  9. “Sweetheart, your pretty little head is so silly. For every photocard I make of ugly hockey men, I make two of my gorgeous, radiant, pulchritudinous boyfriend. Sometimes three.”

A smile breaks through the heated haze of Shane’s expression. “You’ve been using the thesaurus Dad got you for Christmas?”

“I will beat Yuna Hollander at Scrabble one day,” Ilya declares against Shane’s hip bone.

In the year between the Cottage and the Centaurs, Ilya misses Shane more than ever. Svetlana’s teenage cousin offers a coping method: Kpop-style Shane Hollander photocards to stare at all day long. It's a shame carrying around pictures of fellow hockey players is just not socially acceptable.

    …At least, not yet.

  10. All year Shane had been fighting the desperate creeping desires spreading inside him, hoping they would wither and die in the airless forgotten dark of his dreams and now Rozanov, the only player at camp who might've been better at hockey than Shane, with his newly-long legs and newly-defined abs and his indifferent smirking gaze, was lying (maybe) hard above him, asking wildly inappropriate questions and claiming it was all normal and fine and good? Nonsense. If this was normal, Shane was missing way more social cues in his day-to-day life than he thought.

In which Shane and Ilya meet at hockey camp as teens and a bunch of other things also go differently. Not a teen fic tho I promise!

  11. “I want you to stay here tonight.”

Scott squeezes, and Kip thinks he can feel the bones in his wrist press together. Is he strong enough to break them? Would he try?

Of course not, Kip thinks. That’s crazy. It’s just a game. But he really wants it to bruise, at least.

    -
Have you ever looked at Kip and Scott and thought to yourself, what if these lovely two people who are so good for each other were a toxic mess instead? If so, this one is for you.

  12. “No loopholes,” Wyatt says. “No ‘technically that was a forehead’ nonsense.” Ilya gasps. “No, no no. . .” he starts. “Deal.” Shane says. He glances at Ilya and there’s a flicker there; challenge accepted. Ilya’s grin turns sharp. “Fine. No kissing. All day. Is easy.” he shrugs. 13. Ilya’s perspective of a few scenes from “something you can build” (and one scene that came after). Featuring: intense yearning for your committed long-term partner, supportive but confused himbos, Yuna Hollander’s momager energy, Scott realizing he’s a side character in someone else’s even crazier story, and a quick trip to California for Very Boring, Extremely Casual, Not-At-All-Romantic Reasons (aka, the epilogue).

  14. Like with everything, on the ice it was simple—he wanted to win, he wanted to beat Ilya. He was his fiercest competitor and his equal. Off the ice, that faded away—for him, at least. Ilya always saw him as an equal, even when they were too young and dumb to admit it. But for Shane, when the skates were off and cotton sheets were beneath him, he didn’t want to be Ilya’s equal. He wanted to belong to him. It was why the briefest touch was enough to make him fall to his knees. It was why he’d beg just to see his cock—to touch it—to taste it. Desperate to take anything Ilya would give him, and too shy to ask for it. Because what right did he have to ask Ilya Rozanov for anything? No, he had to earn it with his words and tears and tongue. And he wouldn’t have it any other way.
