He can hear it panting, can feel the ground shake beneath his own feet with the impact of its massive paws as it runs. When the wolf catches up to him, it stalks him, corners him. Its breath hot on the back of Kyle's neck and then he's pushed to the ground, on his back, front paws holding his shoulders down, and he really sees the wolf for the first time. Its features beautiful in the light of the full moon, and its strength deadly.

    But not for Kyle. He's tamed the beast. He's in control. This is just a game.
