Hudson and Connor are best friends. Both are in stable relationships, and they’re about to begin filming the second season of Heated Rivalry. But a matching bracelet becomes the breaking point. Not only between them and their partners, but between the two of them as well. It marks the beginning of a deeper realization: what exists between them can no longer be defined as just friendship.
***"Because he’s my best friend," he said through his teeth.
"And I’m your boyfriend," François replied without raising his voice. "But when you’re tired, when you’re scared, when you start to doubt… you don’t choose me."
Silence fell between them again, more unbearable than before.
"I’m not saying you don’t love me," he added, quieter. "I’m saying I’m not the place where your heart comes to rest."
Connor swallowed. His throat felt tight, like anything he said would break something else.
"That’s not fair…"
"Maybe it’s not," François admitted, looking at him with a mix of exhaustion and pain. "But it’s my truth, and Connor, the truth is it hurts like hell to love someone who’s always looking somewhere else."

Everything looks normal, except for one result that… stood out.” Shane’s stomach tightened. Stood out? “Given your secondary gender presentation and hormone levels, we also ran a standard pregnancy panel,” she said, her words measured and clear. “And the test came back positive." For a moment, the words didn’t land. They floated in the air like dust in the sunlight. Positive. Pregnancy panel. Then, all at once, they crashed into him. or Shane Hollander discovers he is pregnant while at the hospital after getting hit in the ice by Marleau in a Boston vs. Montreal Match and after inviting Ilya Rozanov to his cottage.
