Hayden hated what he was about to say, but he drew up his shoulders and stood up a little straighter. “Alright, so… look… Roz is a horny guy, I’ll give you that.” He and J.J. grimaced at each other. “And sure, he has just as much opportunity to sleep around as he did before they got together, but he doesn’t want to.” J.J. took a breath to argue, and Hayden held up a hand. “That man has taken all that… libido… desire… whatever you want to call it, that he had in his manwhore phase and turned it onto Shane. When the time came for J.J. to meet Shane's boyfriend, Ilya (rather than the menace on the ice, Rozanov), Hayden agreed to mediate. He just hoped he could keep J.J. from making the same mistakes he did and alienating Shane in the process.

Shane has a bad feeling about this year's All Stars weekend.
All Stars usually doesn't stress him out this much, not anymore. It's being held in St. Louis this year, which isn't ideal, but it's fine. It already got delayed into March, which has never happened before, but surely that's fine too. The timing is pushing uncomfortably close to playoffs, but it'll be fine. It's just a weekend. Everything will be fine.
That's what he tells himself, anyway, as he stares at the news on the TV playing in his terminal waiting area. The anchors drone on and on in front of hospitals and government buildings. Text crawls menacingly across the bottom of the screen. Numbers keep catching his eye like brambles snagging in fabric. And over and over and over, that terrifying word keeps popping up.
