She hauls him back to his place – a gorgeous condo that overlooks Montreal and is 70% glass. All the reflecting, soft light makes her dress look like liquid silver. She lets it drop onto the stairs behind her.
As she turns—
She sees his reflection. She sees the face she knows she was never, ever meant to see. His heart isn’t in this. But then he’s glancing up at her, some stranger to a smile on his face, and she knows something she was never, ever meant to know: he will make himself go through with this. He’s going to come up the stairs—he’s already coming up the stairs.
Fuck. She misread this entirely.

The edges of the picture had begun to bend; Shane was like a firework on the very verge of a convulsive explosion. The skirting of the doorway and the hand there gripping it were each as white as the other, and although the phone in his pocket rang and rang Shane made no move to answer it. It had been ringing since he’d last been an idiot, around seventeen minutes ago- when he had sent that stupid fucking message to Ilya Rozanov: “We didn’t even kiss”. _______ Or, its 2014 and the NHL has returned to Vegas. Shane sends that text and falls head-first off the deep end with a bottle from the hotel's mini fridge. Ilya must try to bring him back.

Troy’s grin turned sharp and mischievous. “Alright then,” he spoke up. “New bet.”
“No.” Ilya groaned. “Why is everything always a bet?”
“Because you hate losing,” Wyatt answered as if it was obvious.
Troy clapped his hands together. “Okay, so,” he started, his eyes gleaming. “Rozanov has to get Shane Hollander to fall in love with him.”
Ilya stared at him, his brain’s processing lagging half a second behind. “You think you are jokester, yes? You are joking.”

“But…” Ilya stalls out. He conjures his sun’s face: the soft curve of skin where the corner of his eye becomes the sweep of his cheekbone, the stubble that clings to the soft end of his chin, the strong and even line of his eyebrows. “Solnyshko,” Ilya says. “It means sun, yes, but… it’s like a pet name. Sunshine. Honey. I’m calling you my sun.”
This is mortifying in English. Christ, he should never have started this conversation. He should have shaken Shane off when he had the chance. Even as Ilya thinks this, he knows he could not have done it. He cannot deny Shanyshko anything. That has always been the problem between them. What a terrifying, awesome, horrible problem to have. Ilya would like to have this problem for the rest of his life.

Ilya nodded. “Yes, is true. He is the best player in the league.” David’s eyebrows shot up in surprise. “Do not tell him I tell you this,” Ilya added quickly. “He still thinks I think he is second best.” Ilya shrugged, a small smile gracing his face. “It can be our secret.” David nodded. A little frantic, she grabbed a knife off the chopping block. Yes, she was aware this was a somewhat dramatic reaction to what she was sure was just her son cancelling his plans, but she wasn't going to find out empty handed like a fool from some budget slasher movie. She yanked open the door to find… Ilya Rozanov? He was naked. She screamed. “Ah!” Rozanov screamed back, grabbing a pillow from the bed and holding it to his crotch. “Blyat!” Ilya Rozanov was in Shane’s bedroom. In Shane's apartment. Naked. Wearing nothing. Naked. “Err-“ Rozanov broke the silence. “Erm-” Yuna repeated, suddenly feeling flustered. Burglars she could handle. Ilya Rozanov naked? Not so much. (yuna goes to shane's apartment and gets the shock of her life)

The Centaurs are on a Roadie and have to pull over at a shitty motel to wait out a crazy storm. Shane hates storms with a passion because they are essentially a sensory clusterfuck for him. On top of that, they aren't the only ones who needed to get off the road leaving Wyatt and Bood sharing a room with the couple. Or Shane and Ilya being cute, Wyatt and Bood watching. Shane also has really bad anxiety so if you like that you will like this.
