“You know, we don’t have to have sex or whatever if you don’t want to.” Shane’s words stopped Ilya in his tracks. He leaned back slightly holding on to Shane’s neck. “You didn’t come for sex?” Shane laughed at Ilya’s sultry expression. “No, I mean yes. I did, obviously. I just—I understand if you don’t want to.” Ilya pulsated his hips upwards giving Shane a little bounce on his lap. “I want to.” —————— Ilya and Shane's reconciliation sex scene in Season One Episode Five- I'll Believe in Anything.

"Jesus Christ," Shane breathes, reaching out more slowly, fingers barely touching as he runs them over the bruising. He has bruised his ribs before; he knows how much it fucking hurts. "What's wrong with you?" Rozanov answers that question, maybe, but it's quick and acerbic and entirely in Russian. Shane fantasies, for a brief moment, about taking him by the shoulders and shaking him until his teeth rattle. "No, really," he says. "What was the plan here? You're practically allergic to wearing a shirt, but you thought you'd just fuck me from behind and hope I wouldn't notice that you didn't take it off?" You thought I wouldn't notice that you were in pain? Ilya is hurt. Shane doesn't care (lying). Sex is obviously the sensible thing to do here.

Spinning in Circles with the Moon in Our Eyes by LaheyHale
Heated Rivalry (TV), Game Changers Series - Rachel Reid
2025-12-29
Ilya couldn’t get enough. He was addicted to the sounds Shane made. He was hooked on his husband’s groans, moans, and whimpers; along with every variation of his name. He had never really thought much about how his name sounded before Shane, but now all he found himself able to think about is how Shane’s lips look wrapping around the consonants that spell it out, the breathy intonation behind every vowel. He’s intoxicated by the sounds he can feel reverberate through his chest and against his lips when they’re pressed close together, Shane demanding pleasure with the movement of his hips or surrendering to Ilya by falling into him, letting himself be manhandled and directed with Ilya claiming his lips as if he were a man starved. Not a day passed that Ilya did not think of the noises Shane made, or how he could get them to make more of them.

"That's— that's not what I'm insinuating, Ilya…" he started, sighing disappointingly down the line, making it obvious that he was pinching the bridge of his nose to calm down his nerves, "It's just—" "It's just what, lyubimiy?" Ilya interjected, and if Shane didn't know any better, he'd think that Ilya was being condescending, but he did know better, and that it was simply just the Russian in him. God, if Shane didn't know that he had regretted learning russian, he would've right now. "You can tell me if you don't want me to do it, no problem." Or… Ilya gets signed to campaign for Calvin Klein, and Shane hates it. Until he doesn’t.

It’s a dick move and right now Ilya is glad he has a reputation as a dick, so no one asks too many questions. You’re supposed to pick someone that fucked up a bit, someone the team is already kind of mad at. Picking a team’s captain, especially when he hasn’t done anything wrong—you don’t do that. Or: Ilya notices that Hollander is off his game, and decides that a visit to the winner's room just might fix that. Ilya Rozanov has been watching Shane Hollander, and he doesn’t like what he sees. He’s been losing, for one thing. The Metros start the 2015 season with a string of losses, and though some of it is because of things outside Hollander’s control—an injured goalie, a rookie that keeps letting passes through—even the commentators are saying that Hollander hasn’t been himself, hasn’t been playing like everyone knows he can. He’s fumbling through games with none of his usual fire, and it has everyone scratching their heads and asking why. It’s been on the tip of Ilya’s tongue, to ask why. He’s opened their text thread more times than he can count, started typing out a question. Every time, he deletes it. They haven’t spoken since Las Vegas. The time has built up in the silence between them, calcified. No one likes losing. Ilya knows this, knows that if it were him he wouldn’t be handling it any better. He’d be handling it differently—he still remembers the bruised knuckles and sour stomach from his last losing streak, the fist fights in bars and the broken bottles of bad liquor —but he’d be a mess too. It still rankles though. Hollander is supposed to be the sensible one; he doesn’t get to crash out like this. It’s not right. Ilya needs to do something about this. ** Step one: in the next game they play against each other, crush the Metros in a humiliating 5 to 1 defeat. It’s not that hard to do. The Metros put up a token resistance in the first period, but they crumble after Ilya makes his first goal, and then all the momentum is on the Bear’s side. Hollander certainly doesn’t try all that hard to stop him. It makes Ilya’s teeth itch to see Hollander sleep walking through the game, taking abuse without even chirping back. He doesn’t look at Hollander as the seconds tick down, as the fans cheer and moan, as the talking heads once again loudly ask each other what’s gotten into Montreal’s golden boy. He only lets himself sneak a glance at Hollander after, when the spectators have all gone and the two teams are left behind in the empty stadium. Hollander’s not looking at him, just staring down at the ice. Well, all according to plan. He’s going to have to look at Ilya by the end of the night. Ilya offers the Metros his biggest winning smile, the one they put on the covers of magazines when the advertisers want him to play at being a charming rogue. “Was fun, yes?” One of the Metros—Renaud, he thinks—rolls his eyes. “Who do you want? For the Winner’s Room.” He pretends to think about it, gives himself a second so it’s not quite so obvious that he woke up today knowing that he needed to win, just so he could do this. “Let’s say… Hollander.” The Metros line erupts in angry murmurs and some of the hotter heads make abortive moves towards him, knuckles creaking as they grip their sticks. They’ve got a point. In fact, Hollander would be well within his rights to say no. Players have rights, after all. This isn’t the 80s; you can opt out. But Ilya knows Hollander won’t say no. The way his shoulders hunch in on themselves, the way he’s staring at the ice—Ilya can tell he’s carrying the entire loss on his back, this one and all the others, never mind that half his line men couldn’t find the fucking puck when it was right in front of them. Part of Ilya is hoping Hollander takes the out, tells him to fuck off. But only part. He stretches his smile wider, leans in to rest his chin on his stick. “If Hollander is too chicken, I can take your new kid instead.” He spares a wink for the rookie in question. The poor kid looks absolutely miserable, like it’s his fault that the entire team’s defense collapsed in the third period. “Yeah, no, that’s not necessary.” And finally Hollander is looking at him, glaring up through dark lashes. A bit of fire back in his eyes, and there’s a cut on his lip bleeding slightly. Ilya wants to bite it. “Shane, man, come on,” Pike says, placing a hand on Hollander’s shoulder. Hollander shrugs the hand off with a bit-back wince. “It’s fine. I can handle it.” Pike tries again. “Shane—” “I said I could handle it.” “Don’t worry,” Ilya puts in, “I promise I won’t break him.” Pike bites back a curse; Dagenais spits at him. But Hollander doesn’t say anything at all. He tries again. Leers at Hollander, licks his lips suggestively. “We’re going to have fun together, aren’t we, Captain?” Tell me to fuck off! Ilya wants to scream. Call me an asshole, you know you want to! But Hollander doesn’t say anything at all, just stares at him with those same wounded eyes before giving a dazed nod and turning away, back to the locker room. ** Yeah, okay, Ilya was laying it on a bit thick. So all in all, it’s not really a surprise when he exits the Raiders’ locker room and runs into three of the Metros waiting for him with murder

Shane never thought of himself as a jealous person. But Ilya Rozanov made him feel like he was losing his mind. Svetlana Vetrova. That was the name of the girl Ilya Rozanov was pictured with. The beautiful, statuesque, model like, stunning woman with the perfect skin and amazing hair and deep hazel eyes that Rozanov was hanging off of. Shane frowned at the television, watching the entertainment program break down the photos of Rozanov leaving a club in Boston, hand in hand with one of the most beautiful women he had ever seen, a cigarette tucked behind his ear, his shirt unbuttoned too much to be decent, the muscles of his forearms so defined Shane had to resist reaching out to touch the screen. “Vetrova’s father is one of the most legendary goalies in Russian history, so it seems like Rozanov is in the company of hockey royalty,” the blonde woman on the television said. “They seem like very good friends,” the man standing next to her said, waggling his eyebrows suggestively. “They certainly look good together.” They do, Shane thought as the photo changed to one of them climbing into the backseat of a town car, Rozanov’s hand practically on Svetlana’s ass. He had no right to feel anything about this. Rozanov was just some guy he’d had sex with a few times. Shane was a free agent, too. He could go out and sleep with anyone else whenever he wanted, and Rozanov wouldn’t care. Shane had no claim to Rozanov. They’d had sex a few times, but it didn’t mean anything. It was convenient and Rozanov was hot and incredible at fucking him, but it wasn't anything more than that. At least, that was what he had tried to remind himself. This was nothing. He watched the television as it flicked to a photo of Rozanov sucking on a cigarette. Shane had begun to miss the taste of cigarettes. >>> He moaned into the pillow, his eyes screwed shut as Rozanov fucked him, his arm pressing down on his shoulders. Shane reached behind him, desperately trying to grab onto something to try and ground him as his body tensed, grateful when Rozanov grabbed his hand and bore down over him, his hips pinning him to the bed. Shane bit his lip as Rozanov moaned loudly into the back of his neck, his hips moving faster and harder – Shane cried out as he came, squeezing Rozanov’s hand as he fucked him, not slowing down as Rozanov chased his own orgasm. Shane loved being used like this; he loved when he was spent and exhausted and Rozanov kept fucking him, moaning his name, desperate to come too. Rozanov cried out Shane’s name as he came, his hips slowing down to a grind as he slid his hand into Shane’s hair, gripping him tightly as he finally stopped moving, slumping over him. Shane took a deep breath, doing his best to breathe normally again underneath Rozanov’s weight. He grimaced when he realised his cock was trapped between the sheets and his stomach, his come smeared everywhere. Rozanov seemed to realise Shane was trying to move, pulling out slowly and rolling off of him. “Fuck,” Shane mumbled, rolling onto his back and looking down at himself. Rozanov loved when he came untouched, making it his mission to make Shane come that way every single time. Rozanov turned towards him, slapping his hand over his chest. Shane flinched as Rozanov leaned over him and licked the come off of his stomach, laughing as he moved up to kiss him. Shane smiled as Rozanov’s hand rested over his neck, his tongue moving against his as he pressed closer to Shane. Shane pushed him gently off of him, sitting up and blinking. “We need to shower,” he said. Rozanov sighed, watching as Shane stood and crossed to the bathroom, doing his best not to make a face as the ache in his ass. “You are okay?” Rozanov asked. “Yes,” Shane answered honestly. He was always okay; he loved this feeling, like his whole body had been pushed beyond his limits and he could barely hold himself up. He flicked the shower on, flinching at the sight of himself in the mirror. His hair was a sweaty mess, his skin was flushed red, sweat had beaded down his chest, and come was drying in the hair beneath his bellybutton. Shane didn’t look anything like Svetlana, or the many women Rozanov was photographed with. Shane wasn’t tall and thin and beautiful. He was average height, broad shouldered and plain. He hated his flat hair and his ugly freckles and his boring brown eyes. Shane was so busy frowning at himself that he didn’t see Rozanov walk into the bathroom. He startled when Rozanov gripped his waist, kissing his neck snapping him out of his reverie. Shane watched in the mirror as Rozanov reached for his hand and pulled him towards the shower; for a brief moment, he thought about the photo he had seen of Rozanov with Svetlana. >>> “Not bad, Hollander,” Hayden said, clapping him on the back. “Not bad?” Shane asked. “A hat trick is better than not bad.” A hat trick against Boston, no less. Scoring against Rozanov was no easy feat. He shucked off his jersey, listening as JJ led the team in celebrations, loudly singing their team song.

On the screen, it was the playoff game between Boston and Metros. Everything looked normal, except for one thing. It was that game. It was the game when Shane’s body collided with Cliff Marlow. The replay of the impact echoed through the speakers, too loud in the quiet cottage. The next footage came in slow motion. OR - their kids stumble upon the clip of the game when Shane got injured. "I want to eat you out." Shane's gaze narrows in confusion. "But … I don't have…" Ilya's thumb brushes over his hole. Once. Twice. When it clicks, Shane groans. "Ilya, that's gross," he says, hand coming up to cover his blush. Ilya grabs his arm, wrenches it away from his face. "No, you just showered. You are telling me you don't wash your ass? “Although I wouldn't change it. I love cooking for him. And he loves eating it, yes Shane?" Shane didn't quite register the question. He was still somewhat stuck at the sentence about his diet. His eyes were clouded and unfocused, looking straight ahead in the direction of the camera but not on it, rather over it. "So who is the cook in your relationship?" "Usually me," Ilya chuckled, answering Harris's question. He looked at his husband, before looking back at the camera, "Shane is on this performative diet, so he can't eat normal food. He always drinks this disgusting shake in the morning. He swears, he likes it, but I can see his handsome face scrunching up every time, he drinks it, trying to fight the urge to throw up. It's also a pain in the ass, trying to find a recipe, he can have. Although I wouldn't change it. I love cooking for him. And he loves eating it, yes Shane?" Shane didn't quite register the question. He was still somewhat stuck at the sentence about his diet. His eyes were clouded and unfocused, looking straight ahead in the direction of the camera but not on it, rather over it. Ilya and him were doing a video with Harris, as some kind of promotion of their team. Apparently their fans were eager to hear more about their marriage, which didn't sit quite right with Shane and his privacy. Shane wasn't someone, who shared things about his personal life to just anyone. His instagram had a few posts only and they were all some kinds of ads, sponsorships and game related content. It was rare to see anything remotely personal on there, which was the exact opposite to his partner's account. Ilya's instagram was filled with random pictures. Anya, the cottage, things Shane liked, their wedding... he posted just about everything, he saw. If Shane showed even a little hint of interest in something as simple as a bird, Ilya would take a picture of it and post it. The man was the same with his tattoos too and his 'stupid wolf-bird' tattoo was a great example of this. That's why Shane was uncomfortable with this interview right from the beginning. And he thought, he was dealing with it well, until this question was asked. Who is the cook in your relationship? Shane did cook sometimes, but not very often compared to his husband. It was Ilya's hobby to cook, especially if he could do it with Yuna, Shane's mom. Ilya always had to prepare special meals for Shane, because he was on a diet. A performative diet. Ilya had to adapt, because Shane was being difficult. It came to a point, where Shane wasn't sure anymore, if the diet was actually good for him and helping him, or it was just the feeling of discipline and control, that the man enjoyed and cherished so much. It was something stable in his life. Ever since the secret about their relationship was out of the bag, nothing seemed to be constant in Shane's life. He switched teams, because his team wasn't accepting him anymore. The team he gave everything to. The team, he carried, to winning three Stanley cups. The team that celebrated every win with him. It changed, after Shane came out to them. Most of them were supportive, but Shane wasn't blind. He could see some of those faces looking at him with disgust. So different to their happy and excited expression. After his relationship was out, even the supportive teammates were angry at him. All except Hayden and J.J., because apparently, "we can acccept you being gay. What we cannot accept, is your relationship with ILYA ROZANOV. A person who is supposed to be your rival." Truth was, Ilya was never Shane's rival. The media made it up, because it was convenient for them. Shane used to wish, him and Ilya were rivals. He used to think, it'd make everything easier. They were seventeen, when the entire mess started. It was supposed to be a one time thing happening out of curiosity and the need to do something, that wasn't expected of them. However after a few years of occasional hook ups, Shane realized, he was in too deep. The curiosity changed into love and Shane found himself yearning for Ilya anytime, they were away from each other. It felt, like Ilya was the only person, who actually knew him. Listened to him. He had to thank his past self for actually admitting and acknowledging his feelings for once and inviting Ilya to the cottage. He wouldn't have his precious husband otherwise. Another thing that seemed to change all the time was people's perception and opinion on them, as if it mattered. But it did. At least to Shane... Before the secret was revealed, the only thing the media could talk about, was how well Shane played in his games. Now they talked about everything. Analyzing every single thing and shoving their nose everywhere. Shane Hollander was seen with Rose Landry, is he cheating on his husband? Shane Hollander wasn't at the present in the game against Montreal today, is he sick or just jealous? Shane was still not able to deal with this. At least not completely. Even before their relationship was exposed to the entire world, Shane already struggled with people's opinions on him and what could happen, if he came out publicly. He was terrified of being judged, as it was something, he was very familiar with in his childhood. Fear of messing up, fear of being different... fear of not being good enough. He literally had a panic attack, when his parents found out. Imagine, how he reacted, when the entire world knew. Before starting hockey, he wasn't very popular among others. He wasn't white. He wasn't neurotypical. He wasn't straight. It may've been the twenty first century, but that didn't mean, people were any kinder. People used to bully him a lot, when he was little. For missing social cues, not understanding stuff others did... a lot of things. "Do you agree with what Ilya said, Shane?" He was pulled out of his thoughts by Harris asking him, if his husband was right. He raised his head and was immediately hit with a bright light and the camera pointed right at his face. "Y-yeah sure, I do," he stammered through his sentence, managing a small, slightly awkward smile. He never really knew, how he should act in front of a camera, when he wasn't playing

Sometimes, the world gets a little too much for Shane Hollander. He gets tied up in knots. He skates and scores goals but doesn't score them right. And for a long time it was just that— a discomfort he couldn't pinpoint, a disconnect, where everything tilts and tilts and tilts and only he stays in place. For a long time, there was no place for Shane to rest—to forget—the way his body needed. For a long time, there was no Ilya Rozanov. Not like this. Not like now.
