  • Ilya Rozanov Makes Tuna Melts ×
  1. Ilya Rozanov does not come pre-installed with good communication or healthy coping skills. Is he going to seek out help on his own? Hell no! But when a family member kills himself, fellow Boston Raider and friend Cliff Marleau decides that Ilya is going to therapy come hell or high water. And Ilya... well, Ilya is just playing along to keep the peace. Right? He doesn't need therapy. But if it helps his friend be less worried, so be it.

    OR

Therapy helps Ilya upskill enough to diffuse the tuna meltdown. Things get better after that. And then they get worse, because mental health is a bitch not linear.

  2. Following an afternoon of sex and tuna melts, Shane goes searching for the explicit rules of what being 'friends with benefits' entails. In his humble opinion, they're nailing it.

Once friendship is on the table, Shane reconsiders the usefulness and immutability of the public rivalry narrative. Surely the NHL can make just as much money from a bromance as it can from a rivalry?

A missed call from J.J., a dinner at All-Stars, and an ill-considered mad dash to the airport send Shane's season in a very different direction to the disciplined three-peat he'd been planning back in October.

"This rivalry thing: it was everyone else who said we hated each other off the ice. There’s no rule that says we have to keep doing that forever.” Shane stared outside, past the blinding billboards and down at the streets below. “It was nice. Hanging out, last time.”

He knew what it looked like when Rozanov shut down, when he closed himself off and pushed the world away. He’d finish the conversation abruptly, curt, clipped, and retreat. So Shane knew he’d won when Rozanov finally answered with: “Are we six years old, Hollander? Asking if I want to play in sandbox with you?"

  3. Shane was the first omega ever drafted into the NHL. His designation usually considered only good for two things: breeding and mating — and most people didn’t even think male omegas were worthy of the latter. He had a lot to prove. And he really couldn’t afford distractions. Especially when those distractions came in the form of a cocky Russian alpha.

“Uh,” he says, looking up from his screen and feeling his ears go hot, realizing for the first time that this habit of his hasn’t actually come up before until this exact moment.

“What?” Rozanov asks, sounding more amused than anything else. “You are one of the people who does Instagram for food now?”

“No,” Shane says, stalling between answering and finishing his Snap so he can send it to Melissa, “one sec.” He finishes typing out 'Tuna melt. Chips. Pickles. It smells really good. Swiss cheese, I think.' before he looks back to Rozanov, putting his phone facedown on the coffee table. “Just sending it to someone on the staff. She likes knowing what I’m eating.”

He doesn’t know if Melissa likes knowing what he’s eating, per se, but she also seems pleased when he talks about enjoying food for things beyond how many grams of protein it has in it.

“Ah,” Rozanov says, in a tone Shane can’t quite read. “You always send her your food then, this girl?”

(shane has a habit of sending his team's dietitian his meals for approval) (the problem with this habit? he forgets to tell ilya exactly what it is that melissa does) (how the tuna meltdown is AVERTED through the power of miscommunication)

Title inspired by the lyric in Season 2 Weight Loss by Harry Styles. Post inspired by a prompt I saw on Twitter from @mcgee_lives. "Tuna melt scene, but it's Shane that whispers Ilya's name, Ilya freaks out and makes Shane leave. Few months later, he's seen dating a model (if she looks like Shane, that's between Ilya and God). They date a little over a year, maybe. Ilya breaks up with her after he hears rumors of Shane dating a man."

May deviate a bit from the prompt. This is my first time ever writing/publishing a fic but the prompt was too fun not to try. Criticism is welcome as long as it won't make me cry!

  6. Shane doesn't quite remember when he became Hollander. Somewhere between mites and middle school, people started to refer to him by his last name. But he vividly remembers the moment he realized he was Shane Hollander now. Teenage hockey phenom, someone to look up to. A brand. What he didn't realize then was how being Shane Hollander would make his world seem smaller. There are so many things Shane Hollander can't do.

    OR

Shane is a good son who visits his parents on weekends. Shane Hollander is a professional athlete with a clean reputation. Hollander is a little freak who wants to get railed until he forgets he even has a name. And never the twain shall meet. So why the fuck is Rozanov calling him Shane now?

  7. “Please,” he says finally, voice breaking as he gives in. “Fuck, please, Rozanov, I’m gonna—”

Rozanov pulls all the way back, mouth releasing his cock with a noise that makes Shane’s hips rock up into nothing.

    “Rozanov,” he begs again.

“Hmm?” Rozanov asks, kissing Shane’s shaking thigh gently. “You need something?”

“You— fuck— you said I could come,” Shane says, trying to keep the accusatory note out of his voice.

“Mhm. When you say my name, yes?”

“I did!” Shane says, just a hint of a whine in his tone now. Rozanov smirks at him.

“Oh, sweetheart,” he says. “My first name.”

  8. While at the top of his game, professional porn star Ilya Rozanov is approached by the famous yet boringly untalented OnlyFans creator Shane Hollander who wants to collaborate. What starts as a transactional partnership quickly turns into a war of egos, blurred boundaries, and incredible on-camera chemistry.

As their views climb and the sexual tension thickens they're left to confront the reality that maybe their mutual hatred might be the spark for some thing far more intimate then just sex.

  9. “Where are you going?”

“To the arena, Hollander. We are playing a game in three hours.”

“That’s tomorrow, Rozanov,” Hollander says, smirking like Ilya might be fucking with him and he wants to make sure he’s in on the joke. He looks behind and around him. “Um, can I come inside?”

“Hollander, we have game today. You were here yesterday.”

Hollander is striding toward his kitchen, looking over his shoulder at Ilya like he’s getting tired of the joke. “Very funny. I was in Montreal yesterday, Rozanov.”

“Hollander.” Ilya goes to stand in front of him. Hollander’s eyes flicker up and down his body the way that Ilya usually craves, but is rather unwelcome right now. “Today is Thursday. Game is today. Yesterday, you came to my house. We ate tuna melts, watched Buffalo game. Then, you left.”

“Rozanov, it’s Wednesday morning. And I’ve never been to your house before.”

    “Hollander…”

“Look at your phone if you don’t believe me.”

Ilya snorts like a bull and pulls his phone out of his pocket, swipes down on the screen to look at the date.

  11. Shane knew what people said about sharing true names: that it made sex better, like fucking bare except with all your witch senses involved, that even for people with no witch gift to speak of it was like your entire body was on fire. It probably wouldn’t be like that with Ilya, because sex with Ilya already felt like his entire body was on fire.

A universe in which the stakes for tuna meltdown are totally different and also kind of the same. Love, witchcraft, and true names.

  16. “Although I wouldn't change it. I love cooking for him. And he loves eating it, yes Shane?" Shane didn't quite register the question. He was still somewhat stuck at the sentence about his diet. His eyes were clouded and unfocused, looking straight ahead in the direction of the camera but not on it, rather over it. "So who is the cook in your relationship?" "Usually me," Ilya chuckled, answering Harris's question. He looked at his husband, before looking back at the camera, "Shane is on this performative diet, so he can't eat normal food. He always drinks this disgusting shake in the morning. He swears, he likes it, but I can see his handsome face scrunching up every time, he drinks it, trying to fight the urge to throw up. It's also a pain in the ass, trying to find a recipe, he can have. Although I wouldn't change it. I love cooking for him. And he loves eating it, yes Shane?" Shane didn't quite register the question. He was still somewhat stuck at the sentence about his diet. His eyes were clouded and unfocused, looking straight ahead in the direction of the camera but not on it, rather over it. Ilya and him were doing a video with Harris, as some kind of promotion of their team. Apparently their fans were eager to hear more about their marriage, which didn't sit quite right with Shane and his privacy. Shane wasn't someone, who shared things about his personal life to just anyone. His instagram had a few posts only and they were all some kinds of ads, sponsorships and game related content. It was rare to see anything remotely personal on there, which was the exact opposite to his partner's account. Ilya's instagram was filled with random pictures. Anya, the cottage, things Shane liked, their wedding... he posted just about everything, he saw. If Shane showed even a little hint of interest in something as simple as a bird, Ilya would take a picture of it and post it. The man was the same with his tattoos too and his 'stupid wolf-bird' tattoo was a great example of this. That's why Shane was uncomfortable with this interview right from the beginning. And he thought, he was dealing with it well, until this question was asked. Who is the cook in your relationship? Shane did cook sometimes, but not very often compared to his husband. It was Ilya's hobby to cook, especially if he could do it with Yuna, Shane's mom. Ilya always had to prepare special meals for Shane, because he was on a diet. A performative diet. Ilya had to adapt, because Shane was being difficult. It came to a point, where Shane wasn't sure anymore, if the diet was actually good for him and helping him, or it was just the feeling of discipline and control, that the man enjoyed and cherished so much. It was something stable in his life. Ever since the secret about their relationship was out of the bag, nothing seemed to be constant in Shane's life. He switched teams, because his team wasn't accepting him anymore. The team he gave everything to. The team, he carried, to winning three Stanley cups. The team that celebrated every win with him. It changed, after Shane came out to them. Most of them were supportive, but Shane wasn't blind. He could see some of those faces looking at him with disgust. So different to their happy and excited expression. After his relationship was out, even the supportive teammates were angry at him. All except Hayden and J.J., because apparently, "we can acccept you being gay. What we cannot accept, is your relationship with ILYA ROZANOV. A person who is supposed to be your rival." Truth was, Ilya was never Shane's rival. The media made it up, because it was convenient for them. Shane used to wish, him and Ilya were rivals. He used to think, it'd make everything easier. They were seventeen, when the entire mess started. It was supposed to be a one time thing happening out of curiosity and the need to do something, that wasn't expected of them. However after a few years of occasional hook ups, Shane realized, he was in too deep. The curiosity changed into love and Shane found himself yearning for Ilya anytime, they were away from each other. It felt, like Ilya was the only person, who actually knew him. Listened to him. He had to thank his past self for actually admitting and acknowledging his feelings for once and inviting Ilya to the cottage. He wouldn't have his precious husband otherwise. Another thing that seemed to change all the time was people's perception and opinion on them, as if it mattered. But it did. At least to Shane... Before the secret was revealed, the only thing the media could talk about, was how well Shane played in his games. Now they talked about everything. Analyzing every single thing and shoving their nose everywhere. Shane Hollander was seen with Rose Landry, is he cheating on his husband? Shane Hollander wasn't at the present in the game against Montreal today, is he sick or just jealous? Shane was still not able to deal with this. At least not completely. Even before their relationship was exposed to the entire world, Shane already struggled with people's opinions on him and what could happen, if he came out publicly. He was terrified of being judged, as it was something, he was very familiar with in his childhood. Fear of messing up, fear of being different... fear of not being good enough. He literally had a panic attack, when his parents found out. Imagine, how he reacted, when the entire world knew. Before starting hockey, he wasn't very popular among others. He wasn't white. He wasn't neurotypical. He wasn't straight. It may've been the twenty first century, but that didn't mean, people were any kinder. People used to bully him a lot, when he was little. For missing social cues, not understanding stuff others did... a lot of things. "Do you agree with what Ilya said, Shane?" He was pulled out of his thoughts by Harris asking him, if his husband was right. He raised his head and was immediately hit with a bright light and the camera pointed right at his face. "Y-yeah sure, I do," he stammered through his sentence, managing a small, slightly awkward smile. He never really knew, how he should act in front of a camera, when he wasn't playing

  17. Suddenly he was in his cottage and it was summertime. He knew this must be a dream because nothing hurt; not like reality where he was sure he had broken something and maybe had a concussion. Oh God, did he have brain damage? He was wearing loose shorts and no shirt and he was being pulled back against something very warm and solid. A pair of arms snaked around his chest and pulled him backwards. “I was told I would be rewarded for making lunch.” Ilya’s low voice rumbled through him and he mouthed at his neck. “I have come to collect.” Or After he is hurt in the Raiders game, Shane sees visions of his future with Ilya.

"Look, I don't know what you're trying to prove here but—" "Give it back," Ilya instructs, his voice steady and low. "Tell me I am nothing to you, and I let you go." It's self-sabotage. Textbook fucking definition. Maybe it's what he needs to give up on this. He just needs to hear Shane say it, that's all. —— Shane freaks out.
