This thing with Rozanov – it's gotten a little out of hand. It started years ago, when they were both new on the job and stupidly nervous. They'd ended up at the same hotel during a series of clippers somewhere in Ontario, and somehow a night of griping about the realities of field reporting ended with Shane spread out in Ilya's bed. or, Shane and Ilya are field reporters for rival weather channels who keep ending up in bed together.

“Promise me you’re going to break up with him,” Ilya says, the teasing edge in his voice fading into something more serious. “I am very selfish, Shane. I do not want to share what is mine.” Shane nods almost immediately. “Tomorrow,” he breathes out. “I’ll break up with him tomorrow.” OR Shane has never been completely certain about his relationship with his boyfriend. There’s always been a sense that something is missing. But when he meets his boyfriend’s coworker, Ilya Rozanov, he finally understands what that missing piece is, and realizes he’s found it in Ilya.

Keeping their relationship a secret wasn’t necessarily easy when they worked at different channels, and it definitely became a little harder once Ilya started working at Shane’s channel, but now that they were co-anchors, it seemed impossible. Shane knew it was only a matter of time before someone on their show team figured them out.
or, Shane and Ilya work at the same weather channel now, but their relationship is still a secret.

Ilya’s heart jumps straight into his throat. For a second, he just stares, watching as Shane reaches past him to press his floor before settling beside him. It’s Anya who breaks the moment. She springs up onto her hind legs, tail wagging furiously, tugging hard at her leash toward him.
“Anya,” Ilya warns, dragging his eyes away, gently pulling her back. “Stop.”
“It’s okay,” Shane laughs softly, already crouching down, his hand reaching out without hesitation. “She’s so cute.”
“Yeah,” Ilya mutters, something sharp and irrational flickering in his chest as he watches Shane give her all his attention. After a week of not seeing him, he selfishly wants it all to himself. “She is a menace though.”
“I believe it,” Shane says with a chuckle, standing again just as the elevator begins to rise.
OR
A chance encounter after his menace of a dog escapes from her crate has Ilya Rozanov desperate to find his cute freckled neighbour in apartment 1410.
