Parenthood: A Horror Story - Or Shane and Ilya babysit the Pike Children by AkselAksel
Heated Rivalry (TV), Game Changers Series - Rachel Reid
2026-01-17
Shane discovers that surviving four kids is harder than any playoff game and that Ilya is unfairly good at it. Hayden, meanwhile, comes home to a peaceful house, sleeping children, and the unsettling realization that his long-time on-ice rival has somehow charmed his entire family. Ilya has won a Stanley Cup, League MVP, has stared down a full arena booing him, survived a thousand chirps, and has survived Shane’s endless complains about his occasional smoking habit. None of that prepared him for bedtime at the Pike house. Why did he agree to this again? Oh right he loves Shane. Shane, admittedly didn’t look as confident in the situation either and was filled with additional dread when he felt his phone buzz in his pocket. HAYDEN: Running late. Pls don’t let them eat anything that comes in a spray can. SHANE: ??? HAYDEN: Arthur found whipped cream once. Jackie says it was a dark time. Shane stares at the message until his brain stops buffering. Then he looks up and sees the four Pike children arranged across the living room like a staged photo shoot for “Parenthood: A Horror Story.” Ruby was is sitting cross-legged on the rug with a book open, reading with the calm confidence of someone who has already accepted that adults are unreliable. Jade is standing on an ottoman, wearing what appears to be a plastic tiara and a superhero cape at the same time at least he hopes that’s Jade, otherwise the twins had a personality swap. Amber is on the couch upside down, hair hanging toward the floor like a bat. Arthur is… not visible. Shane’s blood turns cold. “Where’s Arthur?” A small giggle comes from behind the curtains. Shane lunges and yanks them aside. Arthur is crouched there like a tiny gremlin, clutching Ilya’s phone, proudly smearing his fingerprints across the screen. “Buddy,” Shane says in a voice that is too calm, “why are you in the curtains?” Arthur grins and holds up the phone as if he’s accomplished something incredible. “Mine.” “No,” Shane says. “Absolutely not” A shadow falls over Shane’s shoulder. Ilya leans in, towering, relaxed, and infuriatingly amused. “He is practicing stealth,” he says, like Arthur is training for special ops and not currently attempting to drool on his smartphone. “He’s practicing identity theft,” Shane hisses, snatching the phone away trying to give it back. Arthur’s face collapses. His lip trembles. Shane freezes. “Oh no.” Arthur’s inhale is deep, dramatic, and unmistakably pre-scream. “Ilya,” Shane says, warningly, “do something.” Ilya looks down at Arthur with the solemn seriousness of a man defusing a bomb. Then he lowers himself into a crouch and says softly, “Arthur. You are brave soldier. But now you must surrender.” Arthur sniffles. Ilya puts a hand over his own chest. “I am also sad when phone is taken. Shane is just trying to help be but is misguided. We make treaty instead.” Arthur’s eyes widen, suspicious and hopeful. Ilya opens his other hand and reveals, somehow, a small, shiny sticker. A hockey sticker. It’s a Centaur wearing skates. Arthur stops crying mid-breath like someone hit pause. Shane stares. “Where did you get that.” Ilya shrugs. “I always have stickers.” “You just…carry stickers.” “For children,” Ilya says, like Shane is the dumbest person alive. “Also for Shane when he is being difficult.” “I am not a child.” Ilya leans closer, murmurs so only Shane can hear: “Debatable.” Arthur snatches the sticker with reverence and slaps it directly onto his own forehead. Ruby doesn’t even look up from her book. “Dad says not to put stickers on your face.” Arthur beams. “Face!” Amber pops upright from the couch like a sprung trap. “Can I have one?” Jade bounces. “Me too! Me too! I want sparkly!” Shane points at Ilya. “Why would you do this.” Ilya smiles, pleased. “They asked nicely.” They have not, Shane thinks. They have asked like a mob. How does Hayden manage so many of them? But then because the universe hates him, Amber climbs right over Shane and clings to Ilya’s arm like a koala. “Ilya,” she says, earnest and bold, “Uncle Shane says ‘no’ a lot.” Shane sputters. “I do not—”

Heated Rivalry (TV), Game Changers Series - Rachel Reid
2026-01-16
The internet is strange and chaotic and full of things no one bothers to explain. Ilya Rozanov loves it anyway. OR The one where Ilya learns a new viral phrase from TikTok. February 2022 "Will you please get off your phone?" Shane glares at the phone Ilya is holding while lying down in their bed. He glances away from his screen to look at his beautiful husband who is looking very grumpy. "Is someone a little jealous?" Ilya taunts, lifting his eyebrows teasingly. Shane rolls his eyes and rolls over, giving his back to Ilya. "No, I need to sleep and I can't do that if you're watching that stupid clock app." Shane grumbles and Ilya can't help but smile at his husband’s annoyance. "I will put my headphones on so you can get your beauty sleep." He replies, climbing out of bed to find them. Shane rolls onto his back to watch his husband walk across the room, glaring at him. "You're serious?" Shane demands angrily. Ilya looks over his shoulder at him and hesitates with his hand in his bag, "I am not tired yet." Ilya replies like he doesn't understand why Shane is so upset with him. Shane scoffs and rolls back to his side and closes his eyes. He's obviously angry and upset with Ilya. Ilya furrows his brows and stares at his husband. He doesn't want to make him angry so he abandons the headphones and makes his way back to bed, setting his phone down on the bedside table before lying down. Shane scoots infinitesimally away from Ilya as he climbs in. Ilya narrows his eyes in annoyance that his husband is trying to get away from him. He wastes no time wrapping his arm around Shane's waist and tugging him towards him, cuddling him against him tightly. Shane opens his mouth to protest but it quickly turns into a soft gasp when Ilya kisses his neck while trailing his hands down Shane's abs before settling on the waistline of his boxer briefs. "Is my husband feeling neglected?" Ilya whispers against Shane's skin. Shane shivers and nods, words clearly evading him. Ilya starts kissing toward his mouth and Shane turns to give him his lips. Ilya can't help but teasing him though, instead shifting so he hovers over Shane, kissing along his chest instead of giving him the kiss he's now desperate for based on how he groans in frustration. Ilya smiles against Shane's skin, happy that after all these years together that Shane is still desperate for him...that Ilya is just as desperate for Shane. He is a bit surprised that Shane is feeling neglected though when only an hour ago Ilya was on his knees in the shower with his cock in his mouth, but he's not going to complain. Especially when Shane is making the sounds he's making. "Ilya..." Shane groans in annoyance when Ilya licks along the waistband of his boxer briefs. Ilya opens his eyes to see Shane staring at him with hooded, lust-filled eyes that also are filled with so much love it still overwhelms Ilya. "Is okay Shane. I will take care of you now." He promises and then yanks Shane's underwear down, exposing his hard, leaking cock. Ilya immediately starts showing Shane just how un-neglected he is and only minutes later Shane is gasping Ilya's name reverently as he falls apart for him. With one last soft kiss to the tip of Shane's cock, Ilya carefully places Shane's underwear back in place before sliding up to kiss Shane softly on the lips. He's still breathing hard and his eyes are closed, obviously exhausted which is no surprise after the game they had tonight against Florida. "Just give me a minute and I'll take care of you." Shane mumbles sleepily and Ilya can't help but kiss him softly. "Is okay. Just sleep, Любимый." Ilya tells him. Shane squints his eyes open. "I swear if you're just trying to get me to fall asleep so you can watch stupid videos all night, I'm not going to have sex with you ever again." Ilya can't help but laugh. He had no plans of doing that but he can't stop himself from teasing Shane. "Lies. You would not last more than 12 hours without my cock." Shane narrows his eyes, "Of course I would. Do you not remember how you ghosted me for 6 months after the first time we had sex? I can last without it for more than 12 hours." He teases, but the words still hit Ilya right in the heart. He hates that he did that to Shane. He opens his mouth to apologize again for doing that when Shane stops him with a searing kiss banishing the words from his mouth. "Things are different now. You would not last 12 hours." Ilya says when he pulls away still arguing his point. Shane rolls his eyes, "Yeah, well neither could you!" He argues. "I am not the one who threatened to withhold sex." Ilya replies. "I would never do that to you." He adds and Shane's face fills with guilt. Ilya kisses him, not wanting him to feel guilty, especially when they both know Shane's threat was never going to last. "Besides, I wasn't going to touch my phone for the rest of the night. Only you as we fall asleep." Ilya whispers against Shane's lips. "You're still as hard as a rock, Ilya. Let me take care of you." Shane pulls away to look into Ilya's eyes. "Please." He adds and Ilya can't say no to him. Why would he, when he's looking at him the way he is and saying such pretty words. "Okay." He concedes and the next thing he knows Shane is pushing him onto his back and kissing down his body determined to make Ilya forget all about that stupid clock app that Shane is beginning to really hate. "Okay, I like it...Picasso!" Ilya shouts as he jumps on Troy and Shane in celebration of Troy's goal. Troy laughs and shakes his head at Ilya, while Shane looks at him like he's lost his mind. "What did you just say?" Shane asks as they skate toward the bench to give high fives to their teammates. Ilya smiles wide, "It's from a video I saw earlier today on TikTok." He explains and Shane sighs and rolls his eyes in annoyance. "I don't get it." Shane grumbles. "It’s a video of people decorating a car for an art project, and a guy walking by says, ‘Okay, I like it…Picasso!’” Ilya explains and Shane furrows his brows. "What the fuck kind of videos

The internet is strange and chaotic and full of things no one bothers to explain. Ilya Rozanov loves it anyway. OR The one where Ilya gets to participate in his first TikTok Trend, much to Shane’s dismay. June 2022 “I can’t believe Harris is making us do this. Why did you have to agree?” Shane grumbles as he sits on the couch watching Ilya set up his phone on a tripod. “Is going to be fun, you will see.” Ilya says with a smile as he presses play on the recording and moves to sit down next to his husband who looks like he wants to be anywhere else. “Do you remember how to play?” Ilya turns and asks Shane who rolls his eyes, “Yes, Ilya. Now can we get this over with please?” Shane grumbles with annoyance and Ilya tries to brush it off. He’s been acting strange all day but Ilya thinks it’s just because he’s stressed about playoffs. “Okay, do you want to start?” Ilya asks and Shane narrows his eyes, giving him a Does it look like I want to start? look so Ilya sighs and turns to the camera and smiles wide before starting the game. "He's a 10 but…he's from Canada." Ilya starts out with a wink and turns to Shane who does not look amused. "Okay well he's a 10 but…he's from Russia." Shane replies with a glare. "Really creative, мой лепесток." Ilya laughs before continuing, "He's a 10 but…his favorite drink is ginger ale." "He's a 10 but…he tastes like cigarettes." Shane scrunches his nose in disgust while Ilya narrows his eyes at him before turning to the camera. "I do not smoke." He says and Shane is about to argue when Ilya covers his mouth with his hand and continues, "Often. Not anymore." He finishes and Shane licks his hand and Ilya pulls it away quickly. "Okay let's see...he's a 10 but he has a weak backhand." Ilya smiles smugly as he turns to Shane who glares at him playfully. "He's a 10 but he hates Rose Landry." Shane smiles smugly and Ilya's smile falls from his face. "What? You do!" Shane shrugs and Ilya looks directly into the camera. "I do not hate Rose Landry. I just do not appreciate that she tried to steal you from me." Ilya glares playfully at the camera knowing that if Rose sees this video she'll know he's kidding. It's been many years since her and Shane were together and it is water under the bridge now. Shane just likes to provoke Ilya still because as long ago as it was, Ilya is still jealous. He can't help it. "She did not try to steal me away from you. You and I weren't even together when we started dating!" Shane replies defensively and Ilya turns his head to look at him with disbelief. "Okay fine. If we are going to play this game then he's a 10 but he ran away crying like a scared little baby when I made him a tuna melt." Shane's mouth drops open. "Seriously? I've apologized for that multiple times!" He shouts. Ilya shrugs in response. "Fine. He's a 10 but he ghosted me for 6 months after he fuc-." Ilya put his hand over Shane's mouth again to stop him from finishing that sentence and stops the video. His eyes flare with anger as he turns to Shane. "What the fuck was that?" He demands, dropping his hand from Shane's mouth. He doesn't understand how the fun silly game he wanted to play turned into this? Apparently Shane has much more underlying contempt than Ilya could ever imagine. "You started it!" Shane accuses and Ilya leans back away from Shane with confusion, trying to think back on what he said in the video that caused this. "Because I joked about you having a weak backhand?" He asks in confusion because he's almost positive that is what triggered Shane. Ilya can see Shane filtering through their back and forth and sees the moment he realizes that he's the one who started it, not Ilya. "Fuck. I'm the one who started it." Shane says in realization. "I'm sorry! I don't know why I snapped like that." He adds reaching for Ilya. Ilya lets him grab his hand. "Usually you don't care when I joke about your backhand, but if it upsets you that much I can -" Shane kisses Ilya, cutting off his words. "No. I know you're joking. I don't care." Shane says when he pulls away. Ilya frowns. "Then did I do something else to make you upset?" He asks with worry. Shane sighs and rests his forehead against Ilya's, squeezing tightly on his hand like he's scared Ilya is going to let go. "God, this is going to sound insane." Shane whispers. Ilya tenses and tries to keep his anxiety under control. Shane pulls away and looks at Ilya then takes a deep breath. "I had a dream last night." He says. Ilya furrows his brow in confusion. "What?" He asks. Shane sighs and looks up at the ceiling for a moment before looking at Ilya again. "I had a dream that you married Svetlana after all...while I was dating Rose." Shane admits and Ilya is too stunned to speak. Shane is upset with him because of a dream? After a long bout of silence Shane says, "Will you please say something?" Ilya blinks as he tries to come up with something to say but all he can do is laugh. Shane watches him carefully for a moment before relaxing and joining him in laughter. "You are insane but I love you." Ilya says with a shake of his head as he pulls Shane into his lap and kisses him roughly. "I love you too." Shane moans into Ilya's mouth as he tugs Ilya's shirt up and over his head before crashing his lips back onto his. After a few minutes, Shane drops to the ground in front of Ilya and pulls down his pants. He groans when he realizes Ilya is commando and immediately leans down to give the head of his cock a soft kiss and lick. Ilya sucks in a sharp breath as he tangles his fingers into Shane's hair. Shane moans at the feeling of Ilya's hands. "Fuck my mouth." Shane begs. Ilya groans in satisfaction and takes control, fucking Shane's mouth like he requested.

Shane accidentally discovers a box of Ilya’s childhood photos, spanning from babyhood to his teenage years. Shane wasn't snooping. Really, he wasn't. He had been looking for tape, that's all. He was pretty sure there was a half-used roll somewhere from the last time they moved furniture, and he opened the wrong closet, nudged aside a pair of old skates, and there it was. A cardboard box, worn soft at the edges, the top folded but not taped shut. He would have closed it again. He really would have. But he saw a corner of glossy paper, the unmistakable edge of a photograph, and his name wasn’t on the box. Ilya’s was, written in thick black marker, the letters sharp and slanted like they’d been written in a hurry. Shane lowered himself to the floor before he quite realized what he was doing. Inside, the photos weren’t organized. They were stacked, loose, some curling with age, a few that obviously went together were joined with paperclips. He lifted the top one carefully, like it might fall apart in his hands. It was Ilya. Not the Ilya Shane knew, the one with the sharp mouth and sharper eyes, all confidence and bite, but still undeniably him. A baby, pale sandy curls already forming against his scalp, soft and fine, sticking up in places not entirely dissimilarly to how they often looked now. He was wrapped in a knitted blanket, staring at the camera with that same serious intensity, like he was already forming opinions. Shane’s chest tightened. He flipped to the next one. A toddler this time, barefoot on what looked like a balcony, sandy curls looser now, falling into his eyes. One small hand was wrapped in a woman’s fingers. His mother. Shane paused longer than he meant to. She was stunning. Not in a polished, distant way, but striking all the same—high cheekbones, expressive eyes, a warmth to her face that pulled attention without trying. She was smiling down at Ilya, soft and open, her hair pulled back messily, like this moment mattered more than how she looked in it. There was nothing brittle or strained about her expression. She looked happy. Genuinely so. That surprised him. Ilya’s mouth was open in laughter, his whole body tilted toward her like gravity worked differently when she was nearby, like the world made sense because she was holding his hand. There were more photos. Ilya at around five years old, missing a front tooth, standing stiffly in a school uniform that was slightly too big. His hair had been cut short in this one, but the curls were still rebelling, softening the seriousness of his posture. Ilya at about eight or nine in hockey gear, curls escaping his helmet at the edges and sticking damply to his forehead, holding his stick and smirking with a playfulness that was very familiar to Shane. Ilya at ten or so, dripping wet at the edge of a pool, sandy-blond curls soaked and curling tighter from the water, plastered to his head, grinning at the camera. A family photo stopped him. His parents stood behind Ilya, his father’s hand heavy on his shoulder. His mother leaned in close. She was beautiful here too, effortlessly so. But more than that, she still didn’t look unhappy. Her smile was smaller, yes, a little tighter, but her eyes were bright. Present. Like she was trying. Like she still believed something could be held together. Ilya’s curls brushed his collar. He way maybe 11 or 12 years old. Beside them stood a boy a few years older - Alexei. Taller, broader, his smile sharp in a way that made Shane’s skin prickle even through the gloss of the photo. Shane flipped again. The shift was jarring. Teenage Ilya now. Taller. His face sharper, cheekbones coming in strong. In one picture his hair was really long, hanging past his shoulders in uneven, punk defiance. Still sandy, still curly, but heavier now, darker at the roots, grown out like a deliberate rebellian. There was eyeliner smudged beneath his eyes, his jaw set like he was daring the camera to comment. This one stopped Shane cold. Because this was the point where Ilya started to look like himself. The same eyes. The same mouth. And that was when Shane noticed it. There was no crucifix. His gaze flicked instinctively to the teenager’s throat. Bare. No chain. No small gold cross resting against his chest the way it always did now. The way it had every single day Shane had known him. A chill crawled up Shane’s spine. It felt like slipping into an alternate universe where things are mostly normal, but just a little bit wrong. He flipped to the next photo. Same era. Same defiant hair. Same guarded stare. Still no crucifix. He went back, scanning earlier photos more carefully now, and landed back on the family photo from before.

During the finalist game, Shane changes up his jersey. - "You're not actually going to wear that, right?" Hayden asked, pinching the bridge of his nose. "It's my last name," Shane responded, brows furrowed. "I can wear the fucking jersey." Ilya noticed. He wasn't fucking dumb, and he was married to him, to Shane. Of course, he was going to notice if something was up with him. He'd be dumb, and a fucking asshole at that if he didn't know something was freaking out Shane, his husband of three years. He saw the fidgeting, the way he was walking around the house, going in and out of rooms, pacing. And in the way he looked at Ilya, before shifting his gaze, tearing his eyes away. Something was wrong. When Shane stepped into the room again, Ilya didn’t hesitate. He reached for him, his hand sliding easily around his waist, pulling him in. He buried his face in his hair and leaned into him like it was second nature. He smelled like her shampoo, soft, familiar, and like home. “My love, what is wrong?” he asked, his voice muffled against his head. “Nothing,” he said quickly, too quickly. Ilya pulled back just enough to look at him. Shane's jaw was tight, his eyes flicking off to the side instead of meeting his. He frowned, brows knitting together in that way he knew all too well. “You are lying,” he said—not accusing, just certain. Shane caught his bottom lip between his teeth, "Just.. you're certain you'll be coming to the game tonight, right?" Ilya smiled. So that was it. "Yes, любовь, god, I told you million times that I am going with your mom and dad. It is the finalist game, Shane. I will watch you win." He blushed a little at that, "We don't know if Montreal will win, since they-" "Shhh." Ilya pressed a finger to his lips, lifting another hand toward his chin, lifting it till their eyes met. He spoke in Russian, slowly, enunciating each word so Shane could understand. "I will watch and you will win. Then we celebrate at home with your mom and dad. Then they will leave, and I will reward you, okay?" Shane blushed harder, pink decorating his face. "Okay." ◙▒◙ ♫♩♬ The locker room was long and narrow, lined with rows of dented metal lockers that rattled softly every time one was opened or shut. The air carried a mix of faint soap, sweat, and deodorant. Benches ran down the center, their wooden slats smoothed from years of use, creaking when someone sat down too quickly. Fluorescent lights buzzed overhead, casting a pale glow that made everything look a little washed out. Somewhere in the background, a shower dripped steadily, echoing against the tiled walls, while voices bounced around the room, laughing, complaining, calling out names, filling the space with an easy, familiar chaos. Shane stood at his own locker, staring at his own jersey. Heat rushed to his face before he could stop it, a slow, creeping warmth that settled in his cheeks and refused to leave. He wondered how Ilya was going to react, what he was going to say when he walked out onto the ice. Someone clapped a hand on his shoulder, "Captain, we go on in five. Get dressed already!" Shane and Hayden looked at each other before both of their eyes trailed down to the jersey clasped in his hand. "Oh my fucking god.." Shane tensed up, "What?" "You're not actually going to wear that, right?" He asked, pinching the bridge of his nose. "It's my last name," Shane responded, brows furrowed. "I can wear the fucking jersey." He smiled before continuing, "I'll actually only be responding to the team when they call me by my actual last name." JJ appeared next, laying both arms on Shane and Hayden's shoulders. "Coach will kill if you guys do not come in three mi—fucking!" He yelled, before pointing, jabbing his finger onto the jersey, over the white lettering, "What the—what the fuck!?" Hayden looked back at JJ, pulling at his hair, "And we have to call him that for the whole fucking game!" Shane just laughed, "Yeah, you do." ◙▒◙ ♫♩♬ The hockey arena was cold in a way that seeped through clothes and settled into the bones, the sharp scent of ice and metal hanging in the air. The rink stretched wide and bright under the harsh overhead lights, the surface smooth and freshly cut, marked by bold red and blue lines that stood out against the white. The boards were scuffed and scarred from years of impact, plexiglass rising above them, smudged with fingerprints and streaks from flying pucks. The sound of skates slicing into the ice echoed sharply, every stop and turn ringing out like a snap of thunder. The audience filled the stands in thick, restless rows, bundled in jerseys, scarves, and winter coats. Some leaned forward eagerly, elbows on their knees, while others stood to shout, clap, or pound on the glass. Cheers rolled through the arena in waves, faces blurred together in a sea of excitement and anticipation, eyes glued to the ice.

“Shane, shit, don’t look now.” Rose says. “Paparazzi?” Shane guesses. They’d been on them for weeks. He was no stranger to some pictures here and there, but being with Rose was different. She couldn’t walk down the block without someone shoving a camera in her face. He hoped they hadn’t followed them here. He didn’t want to be at this club and he definitely didn’t want to be photographed. “No,” Rose says. Something in her tone makes Shane turn. It’s not worry exactly, but something in that family, a pace to the left. Concern? Trouble? He tries to follow her eyes, tries to catch what she sees. It’s no use. He doesn’t see until it’s too late. “It’s Ilya Rozanov.”

Kissing Shane was fun. Not in the usual lustful way — but in the way that Ilya couldn't stop thinking about it, the closeness he felt with Shane during those moments. And it wasn't just kissing Shane's lips, he adored kissing all of his soft skin. Freckles, jaw, collarbone, chest, back, thighs, arms — anywhere he could, he'd place a kiss.
