Ilya's face has got a little rosy tint to it, where the sun burned him. He complained about it to Shane, and demanded healing kisses which he got without complaint. There is some drool coming out of his mouth, landing on Shane's shirt, who is sure he would find it nasty if he didn't have this man's dick in his mouth on the regular. Ilya periodically lets out little noises, some hums and snorts, that amuses Shane greatly. God, he never wants to get up from this moment. He keeps on looking at his boyfriend, who is smiling in his sleep, making his cheeks go round, and Shane gets this unexplainable, sudden urge: I need to bite him. Or, 5 times Shane got cuteness agression watching Ilya, and one time he got it for someone else

"Hollander." Rozanov says, voice quiet to match the atmosphere. Swallowing, Shane curls his fingers towards his palms, hiding the shaking there. "Rozanov." "It is late." "Yeah." "Why are you in gym?" "Why are you?" Rozanov shrugs, a casual little thing, "Something told me to come."

Based on a tumblr post by stormsthatrage: Heated Rivalry AU where the relationship reveal happens because David Hollander's phone gets hacked and approximately 5,000 pictures and videos of Shane and Ilya being cute (both together and individually) get dumped onto the internet. In the grand scheme of things, it wasn’t particularly the worst way to be outed. There was no good way to be outed, of course, but the leak wasn’t their emails, like the Prince of England and the President of the USA’s son, and it wasn’t a video of them together in a compromising position, like the Crown Prince of Sweden. No, it came from an innocent source, one that would beat himself up about it for years to come, even after they’d forgiven him a thousand times over. Their relationship was made public because of one man’s secret proclivity towards photography. — Shane woke up to a pounding headache and someone knocking on the door to the room he was currently sleeping in. He picked his head up from Ilya’s chest, nudging his boyfriend to wake him up, too, and looked around his childhood bedroom with bleary eyes. He shouldn’t have let himself fall for Ilya’s tricks the night before; his boyfriend knew that he couldn’t resist a challenge, and somehow it became a competition to see who could down more shots the fastest. They’d been playing UNO, for Christ’s sake, how did that become an LMFAO song? ”Yeah?” Shane croaked before clearing his throat. God, his mouth was so dry. Fuck Ilya and his stupid fucking vodka. “Come in.” The door opened to reveal his mom, a worried look painted across her face. “Did I wake you?” ”Yes,” Ilya mumbled, rubbing his eyes. “What’s up?” ”So…” Shane pushed himself up to stare at his mom, standing in the doorway, wringing her hands. “Mom? What is it?” Yuna sighed before taking a step into the room. She came to sit on the bed next to Shane, her phone in her hand. “David went to work this morning and…” Terror pooled in Shane’s stomach like ice water. “What happened to dad?” ”No, no, David’s fine.” Yuna reached out and took Shane’s hand in her own. “David’s fine. He’s pissed off and feels really, really guilty, but he’s fine.” ”Why is David guilty?” Ilya said, still half asleep. ”There was a cyber attack on the building. And they got everyone’s cell phones, too.” Shane sighed. He’d heard about that happening at a few different government buildings recently. It sucked, but why would it make his dad feel guilty? It’s not like he had government secrets on his phone. ”Okay,” Shane said. “So why do you look like something really bad happened? Not that the cyber attack isn’t bad, but…” ”Why wake us up to tell us?” Ilya finished. ”David…” Yuna sighed again. “David had a folder of photos on his phone. Of you two. Together.” The ice was back in Shane’s stomach. He felt Ilya sit up beside him, felt his warm hand spread across his lower back, the slight tremor in his fingers. “How many pictures?” Shane whispered. ”About… 5000,” Yuna said. ”Jesus Christ.” Shane buried his face in his hands. ”What are we doing in these photos?” Ilya asked. ”Nothing bad, just… It’s pretty obvious that you’re in a relationship. There’s pictures of you kissing, and snuggling on the couch. A few videos where you say that you love each other.” Her cheeks went a little pink. “You two being a bit messy last night.” ”Last night?” Shane looked up at his mom with wide eyes. “He took videos of us last night?” Yuna nodded. ”Jesus Christ,” Shane said again, flopping back onto his bed. — Hayd: You okay? Hayd: Shane? Shane: Currently throwing up, but yeah. I’m okay Hayd: too much vodka? Shane: too much vodka — Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov - Lovers? Published 2 hrs ago It came as a surprise to pretty much everyone in the hockey world (and a few outside of it) when the photos leaked this morning of Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov in a - gasp shock

Shane's stomach was in knots. He watched someone spin the bottle again to determine J.J.'s partner, and Shane's brain was screaming at the universe to land on literally anyone else, one of the girls, another guy, anyone but—
The bottle slowed.
Slowed.
Stopped.
Pointing directly at Shane.
Oh no.
It's the 2008 World Juniors semifinal, and Canada's Shane Hollander has just secured a spot in the finals beside his best friend J.J. Boiziau. Unfortunately for him, the team wants to celebrate, and celebrations apparently involve having Shane pressed up against his best friend (who he is definitely not attracted to!)

“Freckles?” He askes and points to the dots on his cheekbones. Ilya nods in agreement and commits the word freckles to memory. “You like my freckles.” The blush is back when Shane realizes what he said.
Ilya has the sudden thought that this moment is important, a voice in his head that might sound like his mother, or might be his own that says, don’t fuck this up, not this one. Ilya decides very suddenly that he is going to listen, and against every instinct ingrained in him, decides to be honest.June 27, 2009

It was soft at first, tentative. Like Shane was testing, seeing if J.J. would pull away. But J.J. didn't pull away. Instead, he leaned in, cupping Shane's face with one hand and kissing him back.
Shane made a small sound, something desperate and relieved, and suddenly the kiss was different. Shane's mouth opened under his, and J.J. realized with a jolt that Shane knew exactly what he was doing. His tongue traced J.J.'s lower lip before sliding inside, and J.J. groaned because fuck, Shane was a good kisser. Really good. The kind of good that came from experience, from knowing exactly how to lick into someone's mouth to make their brain short-circuit.
"Merde," J.J. breathed against Shane's lips. "Where did you learn to kiss like that?"
Alt ending to my previous fic where J.J. does in fact hook up with Shane! The ending I deserve because they're too cute.

Shane sat at the Montreal Metros table, his dress shoes polished to a mirror shine, his tuxedo tailored perfectly across his shoulders, his hair styled for once. He was trying to pay attention to the auctioneer's rapid fire chatter. He didn't even want to be here. It was just another thing his Mom made him do for his image. But here he was, waiting for his turn for someone to bid on an evening with him. His eyes kept drifting across the ballroom to where Ilya Rozanov sat with the Boston Raiders. Or An evening with Shane is being auctioned off for charity, and a certain Russian is going to make sure no one else gets it.

Hayden accidentally infects the entire team with head lice from his kids. Shane passes it on to Ilya, who has no idea what “lice” means in English and completely freaks out. A short, cute story set before the cottage, full of love, fluff, and a little reflection on what it would be like if they were actually together. PS: You most likely don’t have lice, so don’t panic if your head starts itching after reading this! Mine definitely did Shane stood under the hot spray of the shower, smiling to himself. Last night with Ilya had been unreal. Montreal had beaten Boston 4–2, which had left Ilya absolutely furious afterward, and that ending in the angriest, best sex Shane had ever had. And after that, the best sleep of his life, tangled up next to him. Shane tilted his head back and let the water run down his face, dragging his fingers through his hair. He scratched hard. God damn it, his scalp itched like crazy. Maybe he was allergic to the new shampoo. Fuck that organic stuff, he should just brought the normal stuff. He shut off the water, grabbed a towel, and wrapped it tight around his hips. Just as he stepped out of the bathroom, his phone started blowing up. Lily: You are cute when you come Lily: Thanks for last night. Excited to see you lose next time 😘 Shane snorted. Asshole. He was about to type something back when a new notification popped up. Hayden: I am so sorry guys. Please don’t kill me. JJ: What did you do? Arthur: If you say norovirus again, I swear to God. We play against New york tomorrow. Hayden: I talked to Coach. He’ll tell you what to do. Arthur: You’re scaring me. Hayden: Jade and Ruby have head lice. I have head lice. And we all shared that helmet for pictures earlier this week… yeah. I’m so fucking sorry. Shane’s stomach dropped. His scalp itched harder. Head lice? He’d never had head lice in his life. Wasn’t that a kid thing? Could you get sepsis from it? Could it spread to—God, he didn’t even know. Another notification came in. Coach: Everyone to the locker room ASAP. I’ve called in hairdressers and the team doctor. We’ll handle treatment today. If you want to buzz your head, today’s the day boys. I’m sending instructions for what to do with bedding, clothes, towels—everything. Shane stared at his phone. Fantastic. *** The locker room was chaos. Laughter echoed off the tiles. Half the guys had already buzzed their heads; others sat on folding chairs with shower caps pulled tight over their hair, taking selfies and laughing like this was some kind of prank. How were they so calm? “Hayden, this is your fault!” someone yelled. “My wife says I’m sleeping on the couch for a month!” “I’m sorry, David!” Hayden shouted back from the showers. “Jackie’s baking brownies for everyone!” Shane made his way over. Chairs were lined up near the showers, guys combing through hair and applying treatment with help from the team doctor and hairdressers. Hayden sat in one of the chairs, looking like a kicked puppy. “Shane! Over here!” Hayden said. “I’m really sorry, man. I know you hate this stuff. But it’s harmless if you treat it right.” “Yeah, yeah,” Shane muttered. “At least I don’t have hair like Jonas.” He nodded toward Jonas, who sat stiffly while a stylist worked through his long, thick dark hair. Jonas had been traded from Ottawa last summer and had sworn not to cut it until he won a Stanley Cup. Hayden winced. “You think Boston Lily’s gonna be mad at me?” Shane shot him a look. “What? No, I, What…” “Shh. It’s fine,” Hayden said. “You left early, you were glued to your phone all night, smiling like an idiot. Acting like you do when Boston Lily is in town.” “Hush,” Shane said, face burning. Fuck. Ilya. His thick, blond curls. Their heads on the same pillow. Skin to skin. Shane definitely had lice. Which meant… Oh god. The media would eat this alive if it got out. The Montreal Voyageurs with lice. And if Ilya had it too…

His phone reads 12:05am when the call comes through. Lily appearing on his screen. Smiling, Shane swipes to answer the video request, something in his chest settling when Ilya’s face appears. “I thought you were busy partying.” Ilya wrinkles his nose, adjusting the phone so the light from whichever darkened corner he’s found illuminates his face, “Doesn’t mean I would not call. Happy New Year.” “Happy New Year.” Shane echoes, shimmying down into his pile of pillows.

Everyone can see it. In the way Ilya Rozanov’s voice gentles, in the way his focus narrows, in the way every argument ends the same way. Or, five times they argue and Ilya gives in, and one time it becomes clear he always will.

just a fic about them being cute shane and Ilya had now been married for six months and playing together for five. They loved every second of it, the games, the chirping, the shared hotel rooms that somehow always ended with one of them stealing the other’s pillow. It felt like making up for all the years they’d wasted pretending they weren’t in love. Ilya adored it. He could finally hold Shane’s hand in public, talk about him in interviews, and say things like “my husband” without flinching. But there was still that tiny voice at the back of his head whispering hide. For Shane, that voice was more like a full marching band. He was getting better, though. Slowly. He didn’t flinch when Ilya grabbed his hand anymore. He only scowled a littlewhen Ilya kissed his cheek in front of teammates. But still, the world hadn’t quite caught up with them. The media preferred to call them rivals instead of married. And the ones who did acknowledge it seemed to dissect their every move like scientists studying penguin mating rituals. Shane hated it. He’d blocked every gossip account within a ten-mile radius. He didn’t see why two hockey players being in love needed to be news. Meanwhile, Ilya lived on the side of social media where people posted fan art, heart emojis, and wrote essays about how they’d “saved hockey.” He saw the good. He wanted to give them more. Shane wanted to crawl into the nearest rink freezer and hide. Still, there were always haters, the “keep hockey straight” crowd. Shane ignored them. Ilya pretended to, but sometimes the comments still stung. They were walking hand in hand with Anya before a game, their ritual, talking about their six-month anniversary plans. Ilya was thrilled. Shane was nervous. “I have it all planned out,” Ilya announced, beaming. Shane side-eyed him. “That’s… not reassuring.” “Ah, moya lyubov, is surprise,” Ilya smirked. “That’s even less reassuring.” Before Ilya could retort, a group of young hockey bros spotted them. “Rozanov! Hollander!” Shane’s shoulders tensed immediately. The guys came over, grinning, phones ready. “Can we get a photo?” Ilya glanced at his husband, who smiled a little too tightly and nodded. Ilya squeezed his hand. “Of course.” They posed, smiled, said polite goodbyes. The fans walked away, but Shane caught the sideways look at their intertwined hands. His stomach twisted. “Come, let’s go home,” Ilya said softly, tugging his hand. He didn’t add before I commit a murder with a hockey stick. At home, Shane started packing their gear while Ilya made lunch and fed Anya. His phone buzzed. It was Harris. Harris: hey, ilya. hate to do this, but you said you wanted to know when stuff popped up. might wanna see this. Attached was a photo of them from earlier — smiling, holding hands. Cute. Except the caption read: “Guess they’re still trying to make their ‘relationship’ look normal.” Ilya stared at it for a full ten seconds before muttering something in Russian that probably shouldn’t be translated. Ilya: thank you, Harris. will hide from Shane. Ilya: why can’t they just accept us? Harris: they’re idiots. don’t let it get to you. Ilya: I don’t. it’s Shane I worry about. He sighed, shoved his phone away, and went back to making lunch. Halfway through, Shane wandered in and they got… distracted. In the way that leads to being late for warm-ups. By the time Shane’s phone alarm went off, they were both breathless and tangled on the couch. “...worth it,” Ilya panted. “Completely unprofessional,” Shane muttered, buttoning his shirt. “But yes.” As they drove to the rink, Shane scrolled through the Centaurs group chat, laughing at the chaos. He didn’t mention the photo. But something in him had snapped when he saw it. He was tired. Tired of pretending, tired of being polite, tired of hiding behind “no comment.” So when they arrived, Shane turned to Ilya, grabbed his jersey, and kissed him. Hard. Long enough that when they pulled away, another car had pulled up beside them. Bood leaned out his window, smirking. “Damn, your relationship gets questioned and suddenly you two go full rom-com in the parking lot.” Shane’s face went red. “They have to see what they’re missing out on,” he shot back, to the utter shock of both Bood and Ilya. Ilya blinked. “Who are you and what have you done with my husband?” Inside, Bood elbowed Evan. “Hollander’s snapped. Love finally broke him.” During warm-ups, Shane skated next to Ilya, watching him laugh. Why had he kept the two halves of his life separate for so long? Maybe the point wasn’t to prove love and hockey could coexist, maybe it was to just live it. Then Ilya’s hair came loose from under his helmet. Shane, without thinking, pulled off his glove and fixed it. The look Ilya gave him was somewhere between shock and heart eyes. They won 2–1. Both scored. Of course.
