Rozanov rolled his eyes. “Yes, because it is so silly to want to know where you are going. I know you looked up every last detail, you are not high and mighty.” Hayden found himself chuckling. “Yeah, Shane, you're not all high and mighty. I bet you managed to find the blueprints of the rental, just to make sure it was to your standards.” “What the fuck is this? You two are teaming up on me now?” Shane tried to sound offended, but his delight pushed right through. “Ah, is only because we know you are full of shit.” Rozanov nodded, very sure of himself as per usual. --- the pikes join ilya and shane on vacation to the bahamas, and everything that happens is actually way easier than any of them expected. hayden gets hit on, jackie appreciates some quality relaxation, and hollanov go on like they always do.

As a rising sports journalist with a stubborn sense of ethics, Shane Hollander never meant to fall for Ilya Rozanov, the heir to a powerful Russian crime family trying to hold his territory together. What begins as heat and fascination spirals into a secret relationship filled with tenderness, danger, and impossible choices, as Shane’s investigation into organized crime leads straight to the man he loves. With deadlines looming and enemies closing in, with Ilya’s father demanding total obedience, and loyalties torn in two, Shane and Ilya are forced to decide what they’re willing to risk for a life that might never be safe but could finally be theirs.

He wasn’t the father of the year, but David thought he might be a pretty good one, and maybe, someday, he could be one to this kid too. *** Or, what David and Ilya talked about while Yuna and Shane were outside at the Hollander cottage

“Hello. Ilya Rozanov here. Be fast, or I will drop call.” “Dyadya Ilya? It is you, isn’t it?” a scratchy, nasal voice said. She had the tiniest sliver of an accent, one Ilia wouldn’t have noticed, had it not mirrored his own, that he had spent a good decade trying to eradicate. --------------- Ilya had long since given up any hope of having a connection to his family back home in russia. His new family in canada, his marriage to Shane is enough. So he doesn't quite know what to feel when hope comes calling (in the form of his little niece, who is not quite so little anymore)

The moment Yuna rises from her seat, Ilya knows Shane is going to follow. He is good, his Shane. A good hockey player; a good partner; a good son. A good person. On his best day, Ilya might consider himself to be one of those things. It's purely quantitative; he has the accolades to prove it. But today is far from his best day, so when Shane grabs the grey cashmere sweater draped like a shroud around Yuna's vacated chair and leaves Ilya with David peering blankly at him across the table, he braces for a storm. — Ilya and David's conversation at the dining table.

Shane Hollander Is Not Here to Explain Himself by theaa
Game Changers Series - Rachel Reid
2025-12-27
Now thirty-one, Hollander is sitting across from me on a soft leather couch, part of a home study in the Muskoka lake house he owns. (His parents’ cottage, the one from his childhood, is a ten-minute drive away.) It’s a tastefully decorated room, with big ceiling-high windows that let in plenty of summer light, and walnut shelves full of books — mostly sports-related. Hollander looks at home here, dressed in a loose pair of light-wash jeans and a plain navy t- shirt, which shows off his impressive arm muscle. Everything is just the right side of comfortably casual. When I initially booked this interview, I expected to be asked to meet in Ottawa, perhaps even New York, as Hollander has plenty of sponsorship deals that keep him busy, even in the summer months when hockey is on a break. I expected to be fitted in, that is. The current Alternate Captain for the Ottawa Centaurs has never given access like this before, and, frankly, I was unsure how much he’d be willing to share.

Just like every season, the Ottawa Centaurs organise a family day. And just like every season, Ilya intends to skip it. He's convinced otherwise and surprised once he gets there. Set between Heated Rivalry and The Long Game, but not spoiler-free for TLG. “Fine,” Shane said, leaning in to kiss Ilya. “But you’ll have to go to the Centaurs’ family day, or this is all off the table.” If this was how all blackmail worked, then Ilya was suddenly very much a fan of the concept. “I will go to the Centaurs’ family day,” Ilya promised solemnly. “And then you will be naked in a hotel room for me. Are you happy now? Can we continue making dinner?”
