Summary:

“Hello. Ilya Rozanov here. Be fast, or I will drop call.” “Dyadya Ilya? It is you, isn’t it?” a scratchy, nasal voice said. She had the tiniest sliver of an accent, one Ilia wouldn’t have noticed, had it not mirrored his own, that he had spent a good decade trying to eradicate. --------------- Ilya had long since given up any hope of having a connection to his family back home in russia. His new family in canada, his marriage to Shane is enough. So he doesn't quite know what to feel when hope comes calling (in the form of his little niece, who is not quite so little anymore)
