  1. Ilya Rozanov had no idea it was possible to be so unbearably happy in February. It was objectively the worst month of the year between the terrible weather and the exhaustion of the mid-season grind, but as he sat next to his husband on a plane to Columbus in the middle of their two week roadie, he felt almost giddy. They were cuddled together watching the latest Fast and the Furious movie (they were somehow going to space, but also the ocean floor? He had been too busy staring at his husband’s freckles framing his glasses to focus, sue him).

Shane bonds with the team in his first season with the Centaurs, and Ilya has FeelingsTM about it.

  4. [An image of this year’s NHL East All-Star team, including Ilya Rozanov, Shane Hollander, Wyatt Hayes, Troy Barrett, Carter Vaughn, and Scott Hunter, all smiling after winning this year’s NHL All-Star Game in Las Vegas] @NHLInsider There’s rumor going around that Page Six has evidence from last weekend’s All-Star Game that two NHL players are romantically linked. Checking my sources to see what I can find out. Will update later. This could have huge implications if true. Posted on February 12 2:30 pm *** @ssmith20 wut? @rozanoff no way fuck boy rozanov is involved in this. my money’s on barrett and hollander. @luverofhockey holy shit. if this is true, it’s going to be insane @hattrickzzzz @luverofhockey would it really be all that surprising? Hockey is one of the most homoerotic sports in existence. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if they had whole team orgies after every game. @shanehollanderswife there’s no way that reddit post about Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov being a couple is correct, right? ….right?

  5. 'This is what happens when the social media manager for the Ottawa Centaurs just finished rewatching the entirety of The Office for the 3rd time' “What a fucking nerd,” Ilya laughed, his eyes following Shane across the ice. The camera swung between them before eventually landing back on Ilya. “I want to eat him,” Luca blinked at him, horror slowly etching onto his face. “Like...sexually or...literally? Behind the camera, Harris cleared his throat to remind them of his presence. Ilya’s eyes never left Shane, who was still berating Troy by citing some charts from his clipboard. “Yes,” Haas looked into the camera in utter fear. Alternatively, The Office Fic

  7. “Hello, moya lyubov,” he said sweetly. “How is your head?”

There was a pregnant pause where Shane must’ve stood there in shock, his mouth slightly agape as he lost the ability to use any of his bodily functions. Then Ilya moved to pull him into a hug, the physical contact shocking him back to reality. He pushed Ilya away from the door with his good hand, Ilya going along willingly, and closed the door as quietly as he could in his panic.

“Ilya, what are you doing here?” Shane asked, his voice barely contained. “How did you even get this address, did you find it online somehow?”

The softness in Ilya’s face morphed into a wicked grin, which didn’t make Shane feel any better.

“I got address from your mother, silly,” Ilya replied, without a hint of irony or sarcasm.

“My mother. You got. This address. From my mother.”

A follow-up to "why do you hate him?". Shane doesn't remember much from his time in the hospital, which isn't helped when Ilya decides to surprise him at his parents' home. Shane knows he should be happy but...it's a shock, of course. But the time together allows Shane to learn a lot about Ilya that he'd never had the chance to before.

  9. Ilya Rozanov doesn’t like asking for help, especially at four in the morning. Unfortunately, his appendix doesn’t care about pride. When the pain gets bad enough to force his hand—and Shane is hours away—he calls Yuna. She answers before the second ring. Ilya is dreaming about his mother. At least, he thinks he is. The dream is already slipping away by the time his eyes open and he jolts awake. He can’t remember what she was saying, or even if she was really there, but the feeling of her lingers in his chest. He has just enough time to register that before something else cuts in. A twisting, terrible pressure low in his abdomen. It’s deep and wrong and sudden enough to make him suck in a breath. He lies there in the dark, staring up at the ceiling, trying to get his bearings. It’s nothing, he tells himself because he has a team breakfast tomorrow and he doesn’t have time for this. He can’t afford to be dramatic about a random ache in the middle of the night. So he stays still. Doesn’t shift, doesn’t test it. He waits for it to fade on its own. It doesn’t. It gets worse. Just enough that it’s impossible to ignore. It pulses, sharp in a way that makes his jaw tighten. Sleep is clearly not happening. He closes his eyes anyway, stubborn about it, but every breath seems to set it off again. He wishes, as he does every night, that Shane were there beside him. But Shane is in Montreal, and Ilya is in his Ottawa house, alone in the dark. If Shane were here, he’d probably be sprawled half on top of him asleep, and Ilya would have to nudge him off his chest which would probably wake him up. Shane would probably already be asking what’s wrong… Okay, he thinks. Enough. Ilya shifts toward the edge of the bed, moving carefully, like that might make a difference. Maybe he just needs water or maybe there’s something he can take for the pain. His feet hit the floor and for one stupid second he thinks it’s fine— Then the pain spikes, sudden and blinding, and the room tilts violently. His knees give out before he can grab anything, and he goes down hard onto the floor, the impact jarring and loud in the quiet house. He lies there, gasping, curled around the pain, knowing with cold certainty that this is not something he can ignore. The anger comes next, sharp enough to almost cut through the pain. He’s furious with himself for lying there and being weak. He’s had so many hits on the ice, he’s lost count. He knows how to push through discomfort; it’s practically a job requirement. This shouldn’t be enough to put him on the floor. And then a worse thought slips in, quiet and horrifying that makes him feel so alone, alone and scared. What if he dies like this—alone on his bedroom floor, the house dark and empty, no one even knowing something is wrong. The idea makes his heart race, panicked and uneven. What if he never sees Shane again? The thought is unbearable. He tries to shove it away, to replace it with something simple. He tells himself to get up. To move. To stop being ridiculous. He digs his hands into the floor, tries to push himself upright. It’s not determination so much as instinct. He drags himself across the floor, slow and awkward, the movement setting his stomach on fire. His phone is still on the nightstand. The distance to it feels ridiculous, like it’s on the other side of the house instead of just a few feet away. He gets there eventually and fumbles it into his hand, fingers slick with sweat. The screen lights up the dark. 4:07 a.m. He opens a text to Shane anyway. The blank screen stares back at him. He can picture Shane waking up to it, groggy and alarmed before he’s even fully conscious. Texting him in the middle of the night would send him straight into panic mode, and Ilya can’t do that. He doesn’t want to be the reason Shane spends the rest of the night terrified hours away. He doesn’t know what he would even say. Hey, I think something’s wrong feels like too much. Another spike of pain rips through him, sudden and brutal, bright enough to wipe the thought clean from his head. His breath catches, vision blurring, and his thumb slips off Shane’s name as the decision is made for him. He calls Yuna. He isn’t entirely sure why. Maybe because she’s listed as his emergency contact on a dozen work forms and in his phone, so his brain goes to her automatically. Maybe because she’s close by. Maybe, secretly, because he loves Shane’s mother very much, and she’s the kind of person who will know exactly what to do. She answers before the second ring, and Ilya opens his mouth and realizes he has nothing. The words are tangled up and useless. English refuses to cooperate. For a split second he thinks, If I were still in Russia, I wouldn’t do this. I wouldn’t call anyone. I wouldn’t be this weak.

  11. He is grateful, so grateful to be on this team. They are loving and wonderful, and they don't mind that his mother calls after nearly every game, or that his father sends what feels like bushels of chocolate and treats to the office, always addressed to Luca Haas and his friends, as if he is somehow a star and not just a rookie.

“Is it always like this?” he asks once, his tongue unstuck from his teeth, his eyes shining as he glances up at Roz, soaking in the celebratory mood after a hard-fought win.

“No,” Rozanov says, smiling at him. His stomach flips and churns, dazzled by the glittering weight of his attention. “This is special, Haasy. A team powered by love and good hockey.”

  12. It was all Harris' idea, and he'd expected to be fully shut down, given how private Shane and Ilya had been about their wedding and relationship. But they finally had the chance to be open, and set the record straight in a clear way that didn't name any names, that the Montreal Metros had never played with a Shane Hollander who hadn't been in love with Ilya Rozanov. 13. "Time is a flat circle."-Ilya Rozanov at the draft of his and Shane's son. Mac Hollander-Rozanov has been captain of the Canadian Juniors team twice, was the youngest member of the 2026 gold medal Team Canada Men's Hockey Team, and was the first overall draft pick in 2026. To Montreal, which is... Complicated. Really complicated. His bio parents kicked him out for being gay, and he wouldn't trade his family for anything in the world, but being the gay poster boy for the team that shunned his dad for being gay because he has his dad's name? He can't even focus on just playing hockey because everything he does is either good for the Metro's image or good for his supposed rival. Aristotelis Floros has been captain of the American Juniors team twice, was the youngest member of the 2026 silver medal Team USA Men's Hockey Team, and was the second overall draft pick in 2026. To New York, which is a dream come fucking true. He's playing with Scott fucking Hunter, even if he announced 27-28 would be his last season Aris still gets to play with him! So fuck you, Hollander-Rozanov and your handsome fucking face and your goddamned superhero rescuing tendencies. Aris Floros is going to win the Stanley cup first.

  15. “I-” David frowned, “I had a bit of a hard time, after Shane was born. He was born early, and he was so small. I was barely sleeping, staying up to feed him. Yuna felt guilty, I think, being an alpha. You know, Yuna and I, we couldn’t have another child. But you already know that. It took a while for us to uhh-- rekindle the romance” David cringed at his own wording, watching Ilya's wide-eyed expression. David forced a smile, “What helped me was- well”, David shrugged, looking a little embarrassed, “When Yuna started to court me again. She would do small things for me, buy me some new clothes, put on music that I liked- that one might not work for Shane. Rearrange our nest, buy new swaddles for Shane.” Or Ilya courts Shane after giving birth to their pup. Shane squirts.

  16. Lily: Well. There is very interesting studies I have read recently.

    Karolina: We’re listening!

Lily: Research shows that abstinence can significantly improve athletic performance. Testosterone levels, energy conservation, mental focus. All better with sexual abstinence.

    Jackie: Wait, seriously?

Lily: Oh yes, very serious research. Professional athletes should abstain completely during playoff runs. Some studies suggest 6-8 weeks for optimal results.

    Satu: SIX TO EIGHT WEEKS?!

When “Lily” gets added to the Montreal Voyageurs WAGs group chat, she comes armed with peer-reviewed research, vibrators for everyone, and one revolutionary idea: a playoff sex ban for optimal athletic performance. The WAGs are convinced it’s evidence-backed science, the team is suffering, and Ilya is having the time of his life watching his handiwork unfold.

  17. “What is this?” Ilya asked. “Ah.” Shane couldn’t quite meet his eyes as a faint blush crept across his cheeks. “Well, I wasn’t sure what the dress code would be for the party, so I laid out some options for us.” Ilya’s heart fucking stopped. “The… what is this, what is happening?” Ilya asked, wanting to be sure that he understood correctly. Shane’s blush intensified as he gave Ilya a small, unsure smile. “I don’t know Boodram very well, so I had to guess what the vibe would be. You were… you were in the shower for a long time and I was feeling anxious so I… Sorry, it’s so stupid but I just wanted to… I don’t know, show you I’m in?” Or, what if Shane didn't leave after their fight on Boxing Day?

He can see the man he loves more than four times a year, he’s surrounded by a team who supports him through his injury, and Shane’s parents have unhesitatingly accepted him as part of the family.
