My Happiness Hurts Like A Split Through The Lip by TuttleAsHimself

In pro sports, getting injured is just a given. Especially when the playing field isn’t a field at all, but a slick shelf of ice on which twelve men strap blades to their feet and slap a solid disc of vulcanised rubber around with big-ass sticks. So yes, Shane is hurt. Not bad, but kind of bad. Like...in the usual kind of hockey way. It's nothing to panic about but it would be nice if Ilya texted him back with a little more concern about it. Right? OR Shane gets hurt and then overthinks about everything. Ilya is a menace.

Shane is stooped over to strap on his shin guards when his phone buzzes once in Hayden’s hand.
He doesn’t mean to tap the notification.
And oh god, does he wish he could un-tap the fucking notification.
Because why the fuck has Lily, Shane’s mysterious Boston hook-up of several years (no matter how fervently he denies it), sent him a picture of a fucking sonogram.
Black and white, blurry, and undeniably baby-shaped.

Set after The Long Game A few years after Shane has joined the Ottawa Centaurs, captained by his husband, he does a Wired Autocomplete Interview where he accidentally gives away a few shocking facts that hockey fans had not been privy to prior to that point (including, perhaps, what went down during his fight with Scott Hunter all those years ago and maybe also that he and Ilya had been seeing each other for a lot longer than most people expected) and then he has to learn to deal with the internet storm that followed, along with some annoying reactions from friends and family. Including: lots of teasing, lame jokes, cursing, viral tweets, trending hashtags and one exasperated Shane Hollander.

Six months ago, Shane’s intimate conversation and break-up with Rose Landry was recorded and leaked. In those six months, his life had completely upended and everything had changed, for better or for worse. Except for Ilya. He still has Ilya, and he’s beginning to understand that he always will.
It’s 2018. Shane Hollander has to figure out his new life, in a new city, on a new team, while being out to the world but not by his own choice. Ilya, along for the ride, also has to learn what it means to be connected to a place, to a person, and to his own inner truth.

"You were missing goals because of this...secret." He thumbed over the lace at the thought. Shane tried to swallow the lump in his throat but this new form of humiliation with Ilya was arousing to him. Ilya's reaction was not judgment, just pure want. "Put them on." Or: Shane loses a bet with Hayden and has to wear lingerie during a game. Ilya finds them and is insistent that Shane try them on. Shane Hollander was a man, and men - at least in his mind - did not wear such garments. He glanced at himself in the mirror, clenching his jaw so tight that it hurt. The locker room was a sea of pre-game chatter - sticks tapping against the floor, laughter echoing off the walls, and a pungent scent of sweat-caked gear lingering in the air. But Shane paid no mind to any of that because he could not remove his thoughts from the humiliating secret hidden underneath his hockey gear. It was just a stupid bet really. Hayden Pike had been his friend and foe on the ice for years, playing with and against each other as they were passed from team to team. Their banter was playful and sharp, but at the end of the day they were still good friends. Although after tonight's game, Shane might have to reconsider. A few weeks ago, after Ottawa had pushed Montreal out of the play offs in over-time, Hayden cornered Shane outside of the dressing room. "You've gotten feisty Hollander," he grinned, eyes gleaming with mischief. "Bet you I can score more goals than you in the next match up." Shane, still buzzing from the adrenaline of the loss, shot back, "You're on. Loser does what exactly?" "Something embarrassing." Hayden grinned. "What like wearing woman's underwear during a game?" A question he would later regret asking. Hayden laughed in delight. "Perfect! Full game though, no backing out and no taking them off half way." Shane was certain he would win, but fate - or bad luck - would prove him otherwise. In their rematch, Hayden racked up one solid goal and a hat trick while Shane only managed an assist. A fact that otherwise would not have bothered him, but the bet was sealed. And now, Shane was wearing the black lacy panties Hayden had mailed him with a note: can't wait to see you squirm. What a dick. The fabric was soft, almost too soft. It hugged him in a way that felt foreign and intrusive. As he laced up his skates, he desperately tried to ignore how the lace rubbed against his skin with every movement. It was supposed to be a joke, just a humiliation tactic, but as he slipped on his jersey a strange heat crept up his neck. He shook it off, focusing on the game ahead. Tonight was crucial - this was his teams chance to earn their spot back in the play offs and Shane will be damned if he lets a silly bet get in the way. The team filed out to the ice for warm-ups and relished in the roar of the crowd. Shane glided onto the rink and relaxed a little when the cool air hit his lungs. He circled the net, firing pucks at the goalie, trying to find his rhythm. But every stride and pivot sent him a subtle reminder of what was hidden beneath his uniform. "Focus." he muttered to himself. Hayden was out there too, smirking as he stretched. Their eyes locked and Hayden winked. Shane vowed to give that man a taste of his own medicine tonight. The national anthem played, the puck dropped, and the game began. Shane won the opening face off and sent the puck back to his defenceman. He charged forward while stick-handling through the neutral zone. Ottawa's defense closed in and he passed to the wing man, but his mind wandered for a split second. The lace pressed against him as he accelerated. He thanked god that his helmet hid the blushing on his face. First period flew by in a blur. Shane assisted on a goal, bringing the score 1-1 but he couldn't shake off the awareness. Every time he sat on the bench to catch his breath, the fabric teased him. It wasn't painful, just constant. By intermission he was sweating more than usual and his heart pounded in his chest. The coach barked orders in the locker room, adjusting lines and replanning strategies. Shane could only half-heartedly pay attention. What the hell is wrong with me? He thought. This was supposed to be embarrassing...not arousing. He shifted in his seat and the lace shifted just right, sending blood to his groin. He stifled a whimper and prayed that none of the other guys had heard what did slip past his lips. During the second period the intensity grew. Ottawa scored on a power play to take the lead. Shane retaliated with a hard check to an opponent, the impact jarring through his body. But even the brute force of the collision couldn't drown out the thrill he felt from this secret. As he skated back to the bench he realized that the lace was now cradling his half hard cock in a devilishly pleasant way. "Hollander get your head in the game!" His lineman yelled as they set up for the next shift. Shane nodded, but he knew that would be an impossible task. He imagined Hayden knowing and pictured a smug look on his rivals face. that thought only heightened the sensation. During a penalty call, Shane looked over at Hayden who was trash talking another Mett. Hayden caught his eyes and his expression shifted. Fuck. Shane thought. He knows. The puck dropped and Shane exploded off the bench. He intercepted a pass and made a break away towards Ottawa's net. The crowd roared but all he could think about was the sliding of lace against his growing erection. He deked the goalie, slapping a shot that dinged off the post. Close, but not a goal. He circled around and huffed in frustration. How could a stupid pair of panties throw him off his game this badly? He would have never missed that shot otherwise! By midway of the second period, Shane was a mess. His plays were sharp but fueled by a bizarre adrenaline that had his sweating profusely. His thoughts were consumed and he liked it. God he liked it. And the make matters worse, he started thinking about Ilya...on his knees...kissing up Shane's thigh to- NOT NOW! He yelled at himself. Shane was all to aware of the sensations in his body now, and not just his arousal. The pressure of his skates on his feet, the weight of his helmet on his head. He wanted to rip his gear off and let someone have their way with him. He wanted Ilya. A whistle blew for icing and Shane lined up to face off with Pike.

Rozanov concluded the interview with a nod, hefted his bag higher onto his shoulder, and turned to leave. Hayden’s first reaction was to notice that Rozanov had the same type of bag that Shane had brought to the arena by accident. That was then followed by the thought that it was funny that Rozanov’s bag had a worn out spot on the strap like the bag he’d been carrying earlier. And then some more capable portions of his brain informed him of the truth. Shane had accidentally brought Ilya Fucking Rozanov’s bag to the arena. Shane asks Hayden for a favor. Hayden comes to some wildly incorrect conclusions.

The Phone Call by Rain_And_Books (Huni_obri)
Heated Rivalry (TV), Game Changers Series - Rachel Reid

“I’m fine,” Hayden snapped, voice cracking just a little. “You’re on drugs. You’re confused. Let’s maybe not talk about your... your marital activities.” He looked away from the man, finding the floor much more intriguing. “But it’s true! And you’ve heard them before.” The Russian explained, and Hayden paused. “No. I didn’t. I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.” Ilya smiled. And Hayden groaned; it was one of those cocky smiles that he had whenever he was about to be an asshole. Which was always. Or Ilya gets sent to the hospital after he collapses. Now, all drugged up, he starts explaining to Hayden what happened during the phone call when he and Shane were at the cottage. Hayden sat on the chair watching Rozanov, contemplating every life decision he had ever made. Why did he agree to come with Shane to the hospital again? Oh, right, cause he’s a supportive friend and loves Shane. Rozanov’s chest rose and fell with his breaths. The man was still unconscious, the drugs they gave him knocking him out. Shane had to run home to get a couple of things and left Hayden all by himself. He had asked him to watch over Ilya in case he woke up, because he didn’t want his husband to be left alone. And now Hayden had to suffer through watching Rozanov. Though as long as he remained asleep, Hayden would be fine with it. Of course, Rozanov did not care for his comfort. Hayden had just started to relax, or as much as he could relax in a plastic chair that seemed designed to punish the human spine, when the steady rhythm of Rozanov’s breathing stammered. Hayden straightened instantly. “No,” he muttered under his breath. “Absolutely not.” Rozanov’s brow furrowed, the crease between his eyebrows deepening. His fingers twitched against the sheets. Once. Twice. Hayden leaned forward despite himself, eyes fixed on the bed. He told himself this was his responsibility. That Shane had trusted him with this. That if Rozanov woke up and tried to rip out his IV or start a fight with the heart monitor, it would technically be Hayden’s fault. His eyelids fluttered. Hayden groaned softly and scrubbed a hand down his face. “You have got to be kidding me.” Rozanov’s eyes opened, slow, unfocused, glassy with medication. For a long moment, he just stared at the ceiling, breathing shallow and uneven, like the air itself was an inconvenience. Then his gaze shifted. And landed on Hayden. Rozanov squinted, clearly trying to piece together reality. He then slowly moved his head away from Hayden and around the room. “Where is… Shane?” “Gone,” Hayden said. Then, because he wasn’t a monster - because he saw the hurt appear on Rozanov’s face and he didn’t want to see that expression on anyone’s face, even if he was Rozanov, he added. “Home. He’ll be back.” Rozanov’s face relaxed slightly, even though his body remained stiff. His fingers curled in the sheets again, knuckles whitening. “You stayed.” “He left me here,” Hayden corrected. “Against my will.” That earned him a faint huff of breath that might have been a laugh if it hadn’t sounded so painful. Rozanov closed his eyes for a second, regaining his composure. As much as he could in his highly medicated state. “You look,” Rozanov murmured, “miserable.” “Thank you,” Hayden said. “I’ve been working on that.” Another silence stretched between them. The machines filled it, beeping steadily, unbothered by the tension coiling in the room. Hayden shifted in his chair, suddenly aware of how close the bed was, how fragile Rozanov looked despite everything he knew about the man. Rozanov swallowed. “I don’t remember… coming here,” he admitted. “You collapsed on the ice,” Hayden said before he could stop himself. “Scared the hell out of Shane.” Rozanov’s eyes flicked back to him, something raw and unsettled flashing across his face before he masked it. He stared at the ceiling again, jaw clenched, like he could will himself back into unconsciousness. He remembered the sudden collapse of Rozanov. Montreal and Ottawa were playing against each other, and as soon as Ilya’s body collided with the ice, Shane became an absolute mess. Thankfully, Rozanov fainted towards the end of the third period; otherwise, Hayden was sure, the paramedics would have had to deal with two hockey players in need of medical assistance with Shane’s impending panic attack. Hayden exhaled slowly. Great. Wide awake. Alone together. This was going to be a long wait. “I want Shane,” Rozanov complained. Hayden sighed. “He’ll be here soon. He just needed to go grab some of your things.” Hayden explained again. He knew Rozanov was medicated, but he really didn’t want to keep repeating himself for the entirety of Shane’s absence. “But why couldn’t he go later?” Ilya whined. Hayden resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Somehow, this particular brand of Rozanov chaos was… almost amusing. He had half a mind to take out his phone and record him, just to spite him afterwards. “Because we didn’t expect you’d wake up already. He thought he’d come back to you still asleep.” Ilya frowned, as if Hayden had just told him the world’s greatest injustice. “But Shane is supposed to be here when I wake up.” “I know,” Hayden said, through gritted teeth. “He will be. Soon.” Ilya stared at the ceiling for a moment, then turned his head again, eyes unfocused. “He usually is.” Hayden paused, unsure where this was going. And kinda scared. Rozanov on a normal day was an ass, Rozanov high on drugs… “Usually is what?” “Here, when I wake up,” Ilya clarified. “Or when I fall asleep. Or in between.” He hummed thoughtfully. “Especially in between.” A lopsided smile appeared on his face, his eyes closing as if he had lost himself in a memory. Hayden felt something cold settle in his spine. He had a bad feeling about where this was going. “Okay,” he said quickly. “We don’t need to-“ “Because we have sex,” Ilya said, plainly. Hayden choked on absolutely nothing. “Yep. There it is.” He said, mortified, and then muttered. “I’m gonna kill Shane.” Ilya blinked at him,
