I will.” Shane pulls his phone out from his pocket with determination and unlocks it. He opens his messages with Lily and presses call in the top corner. The contact page for Lily fills his screen as the call connects. He turns the phone to show Hayden the screen then puts it on speakerphone. Hayden crosses his arms and watches intently as they wait for the call to connect. It rings four times before the call connects. “Ilyaaa.” Shane says into the speaker before Rozanov can greet him. He ignores the way his mouth pulls into a grin when he hears the response. “Hollander?”

He went into a coughing fit, catching Rozanov’s attention, who threw a glance and a smirk his way. Shane replied to that reaction with a scowl. This is just fucking great, isn't it? “What the fuck, Rose? He-He's not even gay!” he hissed. “You don't know that! And, sometimes, you two look at each other in a way that makes me unsure whether you wanna kiss or kill the other. We all know you’ve tried the second option a few times. Have you tried the first?” OR Rose's favorite hobby is playing matchmaker for Shane. However, Shane didn't expect her to try to set him up with Ilya Rozanov of all people. Things between them are... complicated. Much more complicated than Rose even knows.

Ilya doesn’t even know why he takes the bottle, maybe as some sort of weird memento of Shane bending for Ilya and the things Ilya likes, despite his diet and his no drinking during the season rule. And, of course, as a reminder of Shane’s moans echoing off of Ilya’s kitchen counters.
He’s not even thinking about what it looks like when he reaches for the bottle in the locker room after practice and chugs half its contents.
“Fuck, Roz,” Marleau says next to him. “Isn’t it a bit early for that?”
