1 – 10 of 10 Works in Kip Grady & Shane Hollander & Scott Hunter & Ilya Rozanov

  • Kip Grady & Shane Hollander & Scott Hunter & Ilya Rozanov ×
  1. It's Fall of 2014 and Ilya Rozanov has cut all ties with Russia. But there's no such thing as a clean break, and leaving isn't as simple as never going back.
    -
Basically a very self-indulgent fic about how hard it would be for Ilya to actually move on from the pain of the past and to go no contact with his family in a timeline where Grigori is still alive. Also, Ilya deserves to be known and loved by more people than just Shane and Sveta. Forced/Found Family here we come.
*Sequel to my canon-divergence fic "To only ever know the cold" (go read that first or this won't make sense!)

After a revealing chat with Scott and Kip, Shane faces the fact that his team treats him like shit. Set during the 2017-2018 season, the one right after Hollanov's first trip to the cottage, Shane then has to decide what to do next with his career.

  3. Kip grabs Scott's thigh as he watches Shane lick his lips before tucking his smile back between his teeth. Rozanov meets Shane's eyes from across the room, heated and promising something. Kip feels crazy looking at it being reminded of the tension of their face offs. Shane's eyes drop back to the bland chicken on his plate, and Kip is ready to write this off as a figment of his imagination, when Rozanov catches his eye now and winks.

Scott is going to have five tiny bruises on his thigh. But that doesn't seem to bother him. "Everything okay?"

  6. Scott watched as Hollander leaned in, further, to hear Rozanov. This was the part that didn’t entirely make sense to him. The missing piece of something that felt like it was just beyond his reach. This was quiet ease and small moments of comfort and a look that makes the rest of the world fade away. This was how he felt with Kip.

    Scott stilled.

It was as if someone had whispered it in his ear. It was as if the final piece of this insane, deranged puzzle finally clicked into place. His heart was pounding in his ears. He was probably wrong. In fact he was entirely wrong. This wasn’t like him and Kip. It couldn’t be Kip. Scott had been watching too many romantic comedies. His head was in the clouds.

    But they weren’t touching.

Hollander and Rozanov were as close as they could be, without laying a single finger on one another. They were specifically, rigidly, separate. The warmth between them was bridled. Entirely. And this, Scott realized, his heart sinking into the floor, was also how he had felt with Kip.

    Oh. Oh fuck.

  7. Shane and Ilya invite Scott and Kip up to the cottage for a much needed vacation. It's meant to be a fun relaxing weekend and Ilya plans on making everything perfect. It's been over a year since Ilya stopped hurting himself, but an accidental kitchen mishap nearly sends him spiraling. Good thing Scott and Kip are there to help him through it.

Sequel to Showing Up For Him but can be read as a standalone.

  8. “Did my team give you shit about you?” Rozanov asked Scott, as they sat at the bar together, both a bottle of beer in hand.
“They didn’t.” It was genuinely lovely to not get a single homophobic comment all game.
“Ok good. You will tell me, if someone says something, yes?” Rozanov was looking at the screen, but clearly meant it. “I will put an end if it happens.”
    “Wow. That’s… kind of you.”
“Don’t sound so surprised,” he chuckled, looking at Scott from the corner of his eyes. “I am a fucking delight.”
“You’re a fucking something for sure,” he snorted. “Still appreciate it.”
“Not just doing it for you.” He took a bit of a breath, before all but whispering: “you’re not only queer player in the league.”

One game day in New York, Ilya opens up to Scott over a shared drink. It's a good conversation, but Scott doesn't expect it to lead to much - until Ilya invites himself and his mystery boyfriend to Scott and Kip's place for a double date.

  9. Scott fears the wrath of Yuna Hollander. He does not need that woman to end his life before he gets to share the rest of it with Kip. It also makes him feel more and more like a parent. Oh god, did he just adopt two baby gays? “Yes,” he can hear Kip’s voice in his head, “yes we did.” Scott doesn’t know if he wants to laugh or cry.

  10. Shane and Ilya aren't outed, but they're still planning to get married in July and now have to tell the people they care about that they're together and getting married. Ilya told Marleau and Troy face to face, and made a funny joke about just showing up to camp and acting like everyone had always known, because just telling his best friends had given him so much anxiety he'd nearly been sick. Except Shane hadn't thought it was a funny joke. Shane thought it was a GREAT plan. It probably needed a dry run at the Kingfisher first.
