  • Shane Hollander & Ilya Rozanov ×
  1. Ilya Rozanov has exactly one problem with his secret relationship with Shane Hollander: Scott Hunter has more fanfiction than them. The solution is obvious. They’ll just have to make the internet ship them harder. What could possibly go wrong? Or in which two NHL players discover AO3, decide to manipulate their public image to generate more fanfiction, and not so accidentally come out in the process. Featuring: competitive nonsense, live television mishaps, and one very distressed Scott Hunter. Ilya is sprawling across Shane’s ridiculously expensive couch in Montreal when he discovers the betrayal. “Shane,” he says, and his voice has that particular quality that makes Shane look up immediately from where he’s chopping vegetables in the kitchen. It’s the tone that means Ilya has found something on the internet that will derail their entire evening. “No,” Shane says preemptively. “You do not even know what I am saying.” “I know that tone.” Shane points the knife at him, then seems to remember that’s probably not safe and puts it down. “That’s your ‘I found something online and now I’m going to be weird about it’ tone.” “I am never weird.” “You spent three hours last Tuesday looking up whether penguins could be gay.” “They can be! Was important research.” Ilya sits up, phone clutched in his hand like evidence. “But this is different. This is serious.” Shane wipes his hands on a towel and comes around the kitchen island. He’s barefoot, wearing joggers and one of Ilya’s new Centaurs hoodies that he definitely stole, and Ilya’s heart does something complicated in his chest. It’s been nine years and Shane still makes him feel like he’s seventeen and discovering what want means. “What is it?” Shane asks, softer now, because he can probably see something in Ilya’s face. “Scott Hunter has more fics than us on AO3.” Shane blinks. “What?” “Scott. Hunter.” Ilya enunciates each word with deep offense. “Has more fanfiction than Hollanov.” “Hollanov?” “Is our ship name. Keep up.” Ilya scrolls aggressively through his phone. “Look. Scott Hunter/Kip Grady has one thousand two hundred thirty-seven fics. Ilya Rozanov/Shane Hollander has nine hundred and eighty-three.” Shane stares at him. “You counted?” “AO3 counts for you. Is right there.” Ilya gestures at his screen. “And is bullshit. We are much better love story than Scott and his little smoothie boyfriend.” “His name is Kip, and they’re cute together.” “We are CUTER.” “Ilya-” “No, listen.” Ilya stands up, pacing now, phone still clutched in his hand. “We are generational talents. Best rivalry in hockey right now. Everyone says. The media, they love us. ‘Rozanov versus Hollander, the new Crosby and Ovechkin,’ they say. We have drama. We have passion.” “We have to keep it secret or we’ll destroy our careers and possibly get death threats,” Shane points out. “Details.” Ilya waves this away. “Point is, we are interesting! Scott Hunter is old and boring-” “He’s thirty-one-” “ANCIENT. And he is with normal guy who makes smoothies! Where is intrigue? Where is fire?” Ilya spins to face Shane, eyes bright with the particular intensity that means he’s gotten an idea, and those are always dangerous. “We should have more fics.” Shane crosses his arms, and oh, Ilya knows that posture. That’s Shane’s ‘I’m going to be reasonable and you’re going to hate it’ posture. “We can’t have more fics because people don’t know we’re together. Because we’re not out. Because it’s complicated.” “Maybe is too complicated.” “Ilya-” “Maybe we should make people suspect.” Ilya’s grin is sharp and reckless. “Nothing confirmed. Just … little things. Hints. Enough for people to write about.” “You want to bait fanfic writers into shipping us more?” “I want to beat Scott fucking Hunter, yes.” Shane’s mouth twitches. He’s trying not to smile, which means Ilya is already winning. “You know this is insane, right?” “You love when I am insane.” “I really don’t.” “You love me.” Shane’s face softens, the way it only does when they’re alone like this, when the walls come down and he stops being Shane Hollander, Canadian Golden Boy, and becomes just Shane. Just his. “Yeah,” he says quietly. “I really do.” Ilya closes the distance between them, and reaches down to cup Shane’s face. Ilya is four inches taller, which Shane will deny matters until his dying breath, but right now it means

  2. Shane had a reputation since his rookie days, the polite good-boy Canadian compared to Ilya’s cocky bad-boy Russian branding. Neither of them were perfect fits, they were more than the little boxes the media shoved them into, but convincing anyone of that was a hard thing. So Shane never really tried, it wasn’t all that hard though. He was polite – in part because he cared about how he was perceived – and he was Canadian, he loved and lived for hockey. Ilya was cocky, he smoked, he didn’t give a shit about being nice to reporters who asked stupid questions, he chirped loud and played hard, and regularly visited the penalty box. Shane had never once been involved in a fight on the ice or been sent to the penalty box. That wasn’t to say Shane had never been involved in a fight. Despite the polite Canadian exterior and the boring personality Ilya so loved to tease him about, Shane had his fair share of experience throwing gloves and dealing punches. He was just more discreet about it. OR the five times Shane got into fights off the ice without anyone knowing, the two times he got into a fight on the ice for everyone else to see, and the one time Shane didn’t need to get involved in the fight

  6. They had three chairs up at the countertop. If he sits in the second one, something bad will happen. Everyone will die. The house will explode. You can warn him. He has to sit in the first one or the third one. If not, everyone you love will die and it will all be your fault. Ilya moved to sit in the second chair. Shane bristled, hands trembling. “Don’t.” Shane snapped. Ilya froze, glancing at Shane with a concerned and confused expression. Shane inhaled, then exhaled. Guilt crawled up his throat. “Il—y-ah!” Ilya let out a soft chuckle. “I know,” Ilya breathed. “Come for me, Hollander. Be a good boy and come.” Shane’s eyes rolled back at the words, lashes fluttering. His entire body went rigid for a moment—then his orgasm hit like a fucking tidal wave. The suite was dark except for the faint glow of the city through the half-drawn curtains. They’d been at it for hours—at least that’s what Shane thinks, he couldn’t tell at this point. It began as slow, deliberate teasing that had started in the shower after the game and eventually migrated to the king-sized bed. Ilya had taken his time, working Shane open with his fingers and tongue until Shane was a begging, writhing mess. He’d already come three times—once on Ilya’s tongue, once riding three of Ilya’s fingers, and once just from Ilya stroking him slow and merciless while whispering filthy praise in his ear. Each orgasm had left Shane more sensitive, more undone, until he was trembling all over, skin flushed hot, cock half-hard again and leaking like a faucet, despite how spent he felt. Now Shane was on his back in the middle of the bed, legs spread wide, knees bent and hooked over Ilya’s hips. Sweat cooled on his chest; his hair stuck to his forehead. He was breathing fast, little hitched breaths, eyes glassy and fixed on Ilya like he was both terrified and desperate for what came next. Ilya knelt between his thighs, stroking himself slowly, slick with lube and Shane’s earlier release. He leaned down, braced one hand beside Shane’s head, and brushed a thumb across Shane’s wet lower lip. “You sure?” Ilya asked, voice low and rough, but gentle. “You’re already shaking, malysh. We can stop.” Shane shook his head immediately, eyes going wide and even more glassy as if he were about to cry, which, he probably was. “No—no, please. Want you inside me. Need it.” He whined with the most adorable pout playing on his bottom lip. Ilya’s jaw flexed. He could see how close to the edge Shane already was—how every touch made him flinch and gasp, how his thighs trembled against Ilya’s sides. But the plea in Shane’s voice was unmistakable. “Okay,” Ilya murmured. He lined himself up carefully, nudging just the head in. “Breathe for me. Slow.” Shane tried. He really did. But the second Ilya started pushing in—slow, relentless pressure— Shane’s whole body jerked. A broken whine tore out of him, high and overwhelmed. His hands flew to Ilya’s shoulders, nails digging in hard. “Fuck—” “I know,” Ilya soothed, stopping halfway, letting Shane adjust. “I know it’s a lot. You’re doing so good for me.. Just breathe.” Shane’s legs shook harder, heels digging into the mattress. Tears slipped down his temples into his hair. He squirmed, hips twitching like he couldn’t decide whether to push down or pull away. “Ilya—” “Shh. Look at me.” Ilya waited until Shane’s watery eyes met his. “If you need to stop, just tell me, Shane. You’re doing so good.” Shane nodded frantically, another tear falling. “Want it. Please move.” Ilya did—slow, careful thrusts at first, sinking deeper inch by inch until he was fully seated. Shane’s back arched off the bed instantly, mouth open on a silent cry. His whole body trembled violently, thighs clamping around Ilya’s hips. “Fuck—fuck—Ilya—” “There you go,” Ilya whispered, starting a gentle rhythm. “Such a good boy..” Shane whined so loud at that Ilya thought he was going to have to put his hand over his mouth. Every drag of Ilya’s cock over his oversensitive prostate made Shane sob dryly. He couldn’t stop moving—hips rolling, back bowing, hands scrabbling at Ilya’s back like he was trying to anchor himself. Tears streamed freely now, not from pain but from pure overload. “OhmyfuckingGod,” Shane choked out all in one breath, voice cracking. “Can’t—Ilya—“ “You can,” Ilya said firmly, keeping his pace steady, deep but not fast. He leaned down closer, forehead pressed to Shane’s. “Sound so good for me, дорогой. Such a good boy for me..” “Nnngh..” Was the only response Shane could give as his cheeks flushed the prettiest shade of pink as drool slipped out of the corner of his mouth. Shane’s legs wrapped tighter around Ilya’s waist, heels digging into the small of his back as if trying to pull him deeper even while his body tried to squirm away from the intensity. His cock—hard as can be with the head being dark red and wet—leaked steadily against his stomach, untouched. His entire body convulsed—violent, full-body shudders that made the bed creak. Ilya wrapped both arms around him—one tight across his back, the other sliding up to cradle the back of Shane’s head. He pulled Shane’s face down into the curve of his shoulder, tucking him close to hold him through it because he knew Shane would be absolutely spent after. His back arched impossibly under Ilya’s weight, hips grinding helplessly as wave after wave tore through him. Muffled, wrecked sobs vibrated against Ilya’s neck. His eyes rolled back again, fluttering shut, breath coming in sharp, desperate gasps.

Hayden accidentally infects the entire team with head lice from his kids. Shane passes it on to Ilya, who has no idea what “lice” means in English and completely freaks out. A short, cute story set before the cottage, full of love, fluff, and a little reflection on what it would be like if they were actually together. PS: You most likely don’t have lice, so don’t panic if your head starts itching after reading this! Mine definitely did Shane stood under the hot spray of the shower, smiling to himself. Last night with Ilya had been unreal. Montreal had beaten Boston 4–2, which had left Ilya absolutely furious afterward, and that ending in the angriest, best sex Shane had ever had. And after that, the best sleep of his life, tangled up next to him. Shane tilted his head back and let the water run down his face, dragging his fingers through his hair. He scratched hard. God damn it, his scalp itched like crazy. Maybe he was allergic to the new shampoo. Fuck that organic stuff, he should just brought the normal stuff. He shut off the water, grabbed a towel, and wrapped it tight around his hips. Just as he stepped out of the bathroom, his phone started blowing up. Lily: You are cute when you come Lily: Thanks for last night. Excited to see you lose next time 😘 Shane snorted. Asshole. He was about to type something back when a new notification popped up. Hayden: I am so sorry guys. Please don’t kill me. JJ: What did you do? Arthur: If you say norovirus again, I swear to God. We play against New york tomorrow. Hayden: I talked to Coach. He’ll tell you what to do. Arthur: You’re scaring me. Hayden: Jade and Ruby have head lice. I have head lice. And we all shared that helmet for pictures earlier this week… yeah. I’m so fucking sorry. Shane’s stomach dropped. His scalp itched harder. Head lice? He’d never had head lice in his life. Wasn’t that a kid thing? Could you get sepsis from it? Could it spread to—God, he didn’t even know. Another notification came in. Coach: Everyone to the locker room ASAP. I’ve called in hairdressers and the team doctor. We’ll handle treatment today. If you want to buzz your head, today’s the day boys. I’m sending instructions for what to do with bedding, clothes, towels—everything. Shane stared at his phone. Fantastic. *** The locker room was chaos. Laughter echoed off the tiles. Half the guys had already buzzed their heads; others sat on folding chairs with shower caps pulled tight over their hair, taking selfies and laughing like this was some kind of prank. How were they so calm? “Hayden, this is your fault!” someone yelled. “My wife says I’m sleeping on the couch for a month!” “I’m sorry, David!” Hayden shouted back from the showers. “Jackie’s baking brownies for everyone!” Shane made his way over. Chairs were lined up near the showers, guys combing through hair and applying treatment with help from the team doctor and hairdressers. Hayden sat in one of the chairs, looking like a kicked puppy. “Shane! Over here!” Hayden said. “I’m really sorry, man. I know you hate this stuff. But it’s harmless if you treat it right.” “Yeah, yeah,” Shane muttered. “At least I don’t have hair like Jonas.” He nodded toward Jonas, who sat stiffly while a stylist worked through his long, thick dark hair. Jonas had been traded from Ottawa last summer and had sworn not to cut it until he won a Stanley Cup. Hayden winced. “You think Boston Lily’s gonna be mad at me?” Shane shot him a look. “What? No, I, What…” “Shh. It’s fine,” Hayden said. “You left early, you were glued to your phone all night, smiling like an idiot. Acting like you do when Boston Lily is in town.” “Hush,” Shane said, face burning. Fuck. Ilya. His thick, blond curls. Their heads on the same pillow. Skin to skin. Shane definitely had lice. Which meant… Oh god. The media would eat this alive if it got out. The Montreal Voyageurs with lice. And if Ilya had it too…

  15. “I want a baby” Shane confessed, voice trembling, Ilya’s eyebrows scrunched together, and Shane’s omega, so sensitive from being bared open, completely raw, took that as rejection. Shane started to sob, uncontrollable tears flooding his vision as he was engulfed in Ilya’s scent, burning softly like cedarwood. Ilya pulled back, stroking Shane’s teary freckles, “Of course, we can my love” he said, “We can look at the options. There is surrogacy; however, is not very ethical. There is adoption-” “No” Shane whispered, “I want your baby. I wanna have your pups.” Or Shane really wants to have Ilya's baby. He's also really horny.
