Shane Hollander wants Ilya Rozanov like that. Ilya Rozanov wants Shane Hollander like that. Ilya doesn’t know how the game against Montreal ended. He doesn’t know how he got back to the hotel, or what he did the entire night. Because he sure as shit didn’t sleep. Hell, he doesn’t even know how he made it to the Montreal hospital. All he knows now is that he’s standing in front of a help desk waiting for the receptionist to look up Hollander’s room number. He doesn’t think he’s breathing, convinced he’s seconds away from being told he’s not allowed to see Shane. That he has to leave and go back to his hotel room, left wondering and- OR The hospital scene but i based it off of a song and then it got out of hand

  4. Ilya feels breathless as he walks into the cottage. The living room is a magic, Christmas wonderland. The lights covering the cottage cast a warm, golden hue all around, beams are covered in tinsel and garland. The tree is so big and beautiful, standing tall in the corner of the living room. The fireplace has been lit and is burning hot, the soft sound crackling of wood filling the air. He can’t help but think about the first time he walked into this cottage and how much has changed since then. Back then, when it was just Shane’s cottage. When it was a place where they came to hide, to finally love each other the way they both so desperately been craving for years. Now, it is their home. aka a cottage fic, just a few years down the road The drive to the cottage is long. So boring and long. It doesn’t help that there is a thick blanket of snow covering the roads and Shane is driving ten miles under the limit. Ilya can practically feel the anxiety radiating from his body, by the way his shoulders are tense and how hard he is gripping the wheel. “You drive like grandma. We would be there by now if you put foot down.” Ilya jokes from the back seat. Shane’s eyes briefly shift to the mirror so he can shoot daggers at his husband before turning his attention back to the road. “I’m being careful. We have precious cargo in the car.” Ilya rolls his eyes and smiles fondly. Because he is right, there is precious cargo in the car. And said precious cargo is too busy watching the snow flakes fall from the sky through the window — giggling and babbling away to herself as her father tries his best to not freak out in the driver seat. “Your papa, he worry for no reason. Isn’t that right, Iris.” Ilya says gently as he taps his daughter on her nose. Her soft button nose with speckles of freckles covering the bridge. So beautiful just like her father. Iris Hollander-Rozanov, 9 months old and the light of Ilya’s life. She is practically Shane’s twin, soft dark hair and twinkly wide eyes — not that Ilya is complaining. She rolls her head so she is looking up at Ilya now rather than out of the window. A smile spreads across her face, gummy and bright as she reaches up to press her chubby fingers into his cheeks. He lets out a soft gasp and Shane momentarily whips his head around. “What? Is she okay? Do I need to pull over?” “She’s fine. Eyes on road.” Shane huffs as he turns back round, his shoulders hitching up closer to his ears. “Sorry, I just-“ “I know,” Ilya cuts him off, because he does know. Shane has been freaking about this trip for nearly a month now. Getting himself worked up over the what if ’s and worse case scenario’s. He is an over-thinker, has always been. So naturally, when they became parents, his anxiety increased by 1000%. “Is okay. Only ten minutes until we are at the cottage.” Ilya says softly as he leans forward, reaching to rest his hand on Shane’s shoulder. He brushes his thumb over the soft skin of his neck and the tension begins to melt away. “I bet is looking very Christmassy.” He changes the subject as he leans back to sit more comfortably. Iris is still quietly babbling away beside him as she grabs for his finger. “Yeah, mom said she has gone all out. She wanted to make Iris’s first Christmas extra special.” Shane replies with a smile. It would be extra special, Ilya thinks. They don’t really come by the cottage during the winter, there really isn’t much point when the lake is frozen over. But Yuna thought it would be nice for them all to get away for a few days, to be able to celebrate together as a family in private — which both Shane and Ilya agreed easily.

  6. Being a professional athlete in a contact sport is an exercise in enduring pain. Sometimes you get benched for three weeks because you have a broken cheekbone after you get hit in the face with a slap shot. Sometimes you play through a strained quad, a bruised shoulder, a mild fever. Most times, it’s just the constant, unending soreness that comes with pushing your body to its limit every single day. Every athlete had an injury they hated most, though, one that’s particularly painful or recurrent or just annoying. Ilya fucking hated injuring his ribs. There is almost nothing you can do with your body that doesn't involve moving your torso, and the pain is deep, throbbing, and gets just a tiny bit worse every time you breathe. Sitting up hurts, lying down hurts, walking hurts, and worst of all, coughing fucking hurts. or Ilya is sick and injured in the off-season. Luckily, Shane loves him so very much and is there to take care of him.

  7. “I don’t want to smell that place again,” he says. “I don’t want to hear that language around me like that. I don’t want to be small again.” His chest tightens. His breathing gets shallow. He hates this part. The moment when the past stops being something he remembers and starts being something he feels. “I can’t,” he repeats. “I really can’t.” There’s a long pause. Then Ilya exhales shakily and adds, quieter now, almost breaking, “But I can’t leave her alone.” or; when ilya's niece loses her mother and reaches out to him in secret, he returns to russia with shane to get her out of an unsafe home.

A fact which was news to Shane until he’d walked into the cottage, weekend bag slung over his shoulder, to the sight of Ilya Rozanov reaching up on his tippy toes, t-shirt riding up to expose the small of his back, helping his mom hang garland over a doorway Shane had, literally, nearly turned around and walked right back out Its Christmas and its snowing and Shane's mom's annoying (ly hot) best friend is stuck at the cottage

  14. Shane Hollander has built his life on control — of his body, his instincts, his silence. As a secret omega in a league that still punishes vulnerability, secrecy is survival. Loving Ilya Rosanov has always been the one thing he’s never learned how to do safely. When a brutal on-ice collision during a rivalry game leaves Shane fighting for his life, the careful balance holding his world together begins to fracture. Under stadium lights and thousands of watching eyes — including his parents — pain, fear, and unspoken love collide. And Ilya, furious and terrified, is forced to stand helplessly close while the truth remains buried. Some things break loudly. Some break quietly. And some are never said at all. Or, one brutal hit forces Shane to stop hiding and start feeling.

  16. “Do we have to add Scott Hunter and his twink in our acknowledgements?” llya asks dryly, lifting his brow and Shane can’t help but laugh. His boyfriend couldn’t seem to get over the fact that “boring but sexy 100 000 years old” Scott Hunter managed to do the bravest, coolest thing in NHL history. “Where did you even learn ‘acknowledgements’?” Shane asks fondly and llya shrugs, pressing a soft kiss to his brow before turning his attention to the laptop. “I’m very complex, smart hockey player, Hollander. I know things” he responds loftily and Shane snorts but doesn’t comment. -- AU where Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov come out.
