  2. Shane has had a long week and decides to relax by taking a bath and using a bath bomb to relax his muscles. He's so relaxed he takes a nap, not even registering the colour of the bath bomb he used... Inspired by someone, I dont remember who it was so if someone remembers the fic, please tell me. It basically had Shane taking some panadol or something cos he had a headache but he fainted and Ilya found him and thought he tried to overdose The rivalry between Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander was the kind of legend that fueled sports talk radio for decades. It was the stoic, iron-willed Russian Captain against the golden boy of Canadian hockey. On the ice, they were a collision of tectonic plates—heavy hits, sharp words exchanged through mouthguards, and a mutual disdain that seemed etched into their very bones. In reality, the disdain was the most expensive mask in professional sports. For over eight years, they had been a ghost story told in darkened hotel rooms and anonymous apartments. For two years, they had been "forever." They were boyfriends in the shadows, navigating a world of secret back entrances, and the constant, crushing weight of a double life. But tonight, the ice was far away. Ilya had just finished a late flight back to their shared sanctuary in Shane's quiet cottage outside of Ottawa, a home no one else knew Ilya was embraced in. The cottage was hushed, the only sound the hum of the refrigerator and the distant whistle of the wind against the glass. Ilya dropped his gear bag by the door, his shoulders aching from a grueling game against Toronto. He wanted nothing more than to find Shane, bury his face in the crook of his neck, and let the persona of "The Iron Rozanov" melt away. "Shane?" he called out, his voice raspy. No answer. A sliver of light spilled from beneath the master bathroom door. Ilya smiled faintly, rubbing the back of his neck. Shane must have beaten him home and opted for a soak to soothe his own battered ribs. Shane was a fan of rituals—expensive salts, high-end candles, anything to drown out the noise of being Shane Hollander. Ilya kicked off his shoes and padded toward the bathroom. "I’m home, malysh," he murmured, pushing the door open. "I hope you saved some hot water for-" The sentence died in his throat. The smile didn't just fade; it vanished as if it had never existed. The bathroom was thick with steam, smelling of hibiscus and cedarwood. But Ilya’s brain didn't process the scent. It processed the sight. Shane was submerged in the tub, his head tilted back against the porcelain, his eyes closed, his body unnervingly still. And the water-the water was a deep, visceral, terrifying crimson. It looked like a massacre. It looked like a life drained out into a ceramic basin. In an instant, the year was no longer the present. The luxury apartment dissolved. Ilya was twelve years old again, standing in a cramped kitchen in Russia. He was seeing his mother’s pale, limp hand draped across the ground, pills scattered everywhere. He remembered the silence of that day, a silence that felt like a scream you couldn't hear. The trauma, suppressed under layers of muscle, fame, and hockey padding, erupted like a geyser. "Shane!" The sound that ripped from Ilya’s chest wasn't a name; it was a sob, a fractured howl of pure, unadulterated agony. He didn't walk; he lunged. He hit the tiled floor on his knees with a bone-jarring thud, his hands shaking so violently he could barely grip the edge of the tub. "Shane! No, no, no-. Shane, wake up! Look at me!" Ilya’s large, calloused hands plunged into the dark red water, frantic and clumsy. He grabbed Shane’s shoulders, hauling him upward. His mind was a strobe light of horrors. Did he have a knife? Did he take something? Was the pressure of the secret too much? Did I miss the signs? "Please, pozhaluysta, Shane, don't leave me!" Ilya was hyperventilating now, the air coming in jagged, useless gulps. He dragged Shane’s limp upper body out of the water, pinning him against his chest, heedless of his own expensive sweater getting soaked in the red liquid. He was checking for wounds, his fingers searching Shane’s wrists, his neck, his chest, his eyes blurred by a thick veil of tears. "Stay with me, stay with me, I’ve got you-" "Ilya? Wh-what?" Shane’s eyes flew open, wide and disoriented. He sputtered, coughing as water splashed into his face. He felt Ilya’s heart hammering like a trapped bird against his back, felt the crushing, desperate grip of the man’s arms. "Ilya? What’s happening? Are we-is there a fire?" Shane scrambled for purchase, his hands splashing in the red water. Ilya didn't let go. He couldn't. He was rocking back and forth on the floor, holding Shane to his chest with a strength that was bordering on painful. His face was buried in Shane’s wet hair, and he was making a sound Shane had never heard bbefore, a low, broken whimpering. "You’re alive," Ilya choked out, the words barely intelligible. "You’re alive, you’re alive..." Shane finally managed to twist around in Ilya’s arms, his own heart racing from the sudden, violent wake-up. He looked at Ilya and his stomach dropped. The giant, stoic Boston Captain looked like a ghost. His skin was ash-gray, his eyes bloodshot and unfocused, and he was trembling so hard his teeth were literally chattering. "Ilya, look at me. Hey, look at me," Shane said, his voice dropping into a soft, urgent tone. He reached up, cupping Ilya’s face. "I’m okay. I’m right here. I just fell asleep. I was so tired, I-" Shane’s gaze flicked down to the tub, then to the red stains on Ilya’s clothes, then back to the tub. The realization hit him like a cross-check to the throat. The bath bomb. He had bought a new one at the boutique near the arena. "Midnight Rose," the label had said. It was supposed to be luxurious. He hadn't realized it would turn the water the color of an arterial spray. And he knew, God, he knew, about Ilya’s mother. Ilya had only told him once,

Or because you want my knot?” Ilya stood in front of Shane, one hand under his shirt on his hip squeezing softly, the other hand against his face, his finger tips gently sliding through his hair. 6. When Ilya gets injured while swimming in the lake, Shane scrambles to save him from drowning. ("We all get our bell rung, eventually." -Shane Hollander) It was a less than perfect day at the lake. A gray day—little sun. But Shane Hollander was overflowing with light. He felt it on his cheeks, all over his skin, in his bones. He couldn’t stop smiling with it. The cottage itself seemed to glow with a living aura. The night before he was looking into his longtime lover’s eyes when he said—twice in Russian, and then once in English—“I love you.” Shane said it back. And his world shifted like tectonic plates. No day would ever truly be gray again. Ilya Rozanov stood on top of the large, slanted rock on which Shane sat. “Don’t dive into the water, you idiot. It’s shallow here—up to your waist.” Ilya ruffled Shane’s slate-black hair. “I do little jump,” Rozanov said. “Barely dive. Closer to —what do you say—eh, belly flop.” Shane rolled his eyes as he carefully rearranged his hair. “You’re going to belly flop into cold water with bruised ribs?” Ilya winced and wrinkled his nose at the thought. “You dive in there and you’re going to sprain your wrists on the bottom before your feet hit the water,” Hollander warned. “Fine!” Ilya made a show of putting his hands behind his back by stretching his long arms up and around. He clasped his own fingers together and stared down at Hollander. “No arms. Half belly flap, half dive. Yes? Approved?” The fondness for Ilya that glowed in Shane’s heart warmed. “Fine!” he said, pronouncing the word with a Russian accent, speaking it the same way Ilya had a moment ago. “But there’s a downed tree down there so aim to the—” Ilya rotated to the right and dove nose-first over Shane’s knees. “—left.” Shane gulped. Ilya disappeared into the water—all six feet of him—and Shane sighed. He looked around, taking a moment to ingest the view. The hockey captain took in the trees, the horizon on the water, the sky. All beautiful, he concluded. But not as beautiful as Ilya Rozanov’s body in those swimming trunks. That was his favorite view of all. Shane looked down at the spot in the water where Ilya had disappeared, and curled his hands into fists when he realized that a whole half minute had passed. How long could his lover hold his breath? Shane didn’t know. “Rozanov?” he called to the silent lake. “Ilya!” The clouds shifted then. Shane concluded that an entire minute had passed. Sunlight through the trees illuminated the colors of the water—blue, black, teal, green... And red. “FUCK,” Shane gasped at the sight of the blood. He eased himself into the water and started swimming as fast as he could. His leg bumped something solid. Shane took a deep breath and dropped underwater, eyes open. Arms paddling, fingers reaching, mostly blind, Shane felt around for the solid object. Fingers found the underwater tree, first, but then he found something hard that felt like skin, and he pulled. Shane summoned all of his strength and swam for the surface. He emerged gasping, holding the limp, unmoving body in a bridal carry. Rozanov’s head lolled against Shane’s bicep— eyes shut, mouth open. “Ilya!” Hollander shouted at him. “ILYA!” When not even an eyelid flinched, he swore again and stomped toward the shore. Shane had never heard his own heart beating. But it was thundering in his ears when he gently laid Ilya’s waterlogged body down on the grass. Rozanov’s skin was corpse-colored except for the massive gash at his hairline that was leaking blood. “Dammit!” Shane shouted, voice cracking, when water leaked from Rozanov’s blue-tinted lips. He rolled him onto his side and watched several cups of water stream from his mouth. Then Shane knelt, pressed his ear to Ilya’s lips, and both listened and felt for his breathing. Nothing. No inhale. No exhale. Tears erupted from Shane’s dark eyes. He pressed two fingers against the pulse point on Ilya’s throat. He found it. Ilya had a pulse. But Shane was certain his heart was beating too slow—the sensation shallow under the white skin. Shane’s eyes were so soaked with tears that everything went funhouse mirror blurry. He rolled Ilya onto his back, squeezed his nostrils shut, and blew air into his lungs. Again. Again and again and again. Over and over he breathed breath into his lover. In the distance, a loon called—mocking, almost. “Please,” Shane said against Ilya’s lips. “Wake up, you asshole! Please!” Shane pulled back and looked down at Ilya’s slack face. “Ilya,” he begged. “ILYA!” Then, with all his strength, Shane pushed down on Ilya’s stomach. Water, vomit, and who knew what else erupted from Ilya’s stomach and chest. A cough followed it—then another. After three more, Ilya’s eyes burst open and he went into a coughing fit that Shane had no doubt killed his already bruised ribs. Shane lifted Ilya’s body, then. Lifted him up into his arms so that he was almost sitting. Shane held him while he coughed—didn’t care about the blood slowly soaking his swimming trunks or the vomit under his knees. Ilya’s wide eyes found Shane’s and refused to look away. Shane whispered into Ilya’s ear, “I’m here, I’ve got you, just breathe, you’re ok—you’re ok—you’re ok.” The blood flow didn’t stop, but the coughing eventually did. “Shane,” Ilya wheezed. “S- Sorry…” “Shhh,” Hollander soothed. “You hit your head. You’re bleeding bad. I have to get you to the hospital—can you stand?”

  7. "So, silent retreat buddy?" He genuinely asks. Shane was being a really bad friend. Hayden spent weeks around babies and he probably needed a bit of a normal adult conversation but the only adult thought coming to Shane's mind right now was 'my dick is in Ilya's mouth'. "Yeah. You know. Doing yoga. Bonfires and stuff," he let out an involuntary moan and clapps his hand across his mouth while Ilya doubles his efforts. Hayden chuckles on the other line. "You sure about that? You don't have any company?" "May... Maybe." "Oh. Oooohhhh bud, sorry. I'm hanging up. Say hi to Lilly for me." But, before Hayden could drop the line Shane says back: "He says hi back." "Wait. He?" *** Or: Hayden finds out about Ilya and Shane in an unsuspected way. Inspired by 'that' phone call scene in ep6 😏

  11. When Ilya agrees to accompany Shane on a weekend trip to his parents’ house Shane is overjoyed. It’s their first Christmas together, and Shane is determined to make it special. Ilya, on the other hand, is determined to defile Shane in his childhood bedroom. And anywhere else he can have him. “You can’t be serious.” Seeing Shane like this is probably Ilya’s favourite thing. Hollander is laid out beneath him, his face hot and flushed, his cock hard and pressed up against Ilya’s own as Ilya lays between his legs. Ilya can feel the heat of his body even through the layers of clothing between them- layers he would very much like to remove. But the sullen look on Shane’s face tells him this is not likely to be an easy task. “We’re in my parents’ house,” Shane huffs, squirming in a way that does nothing to deter Ilya’s intentions. They have been at Yuna and David’s home for only around thirty minutes now. After greeting Shane’s parents Ilya has followed Shane up to his bedroom under the guise of getting settled in. Well, it is not so much a guise on Shane’s part- after entering the room Shane really does start to unpack, taking one neatly folded item of clothing after another out of his suitcase and putting them away in equally neat drawers. There is really only so long Ilya can stand it before he is striding over to Shane, practically performing a full body tackle as he shoves Shane onto the bed and pins him down. Ilya smiles wickedly as he leans over Shane, admiring how the pink glow of Shane’s skin makes the freckles adorning his cheeks even more prominent. Shane’s wrists are pinned by each of Ilya’s large hands, the full weight of Ilya’s body pressing him into the mattress. Ilya knows that Shane could probably free himself if he really wanted to. The fact that he doesn’t try to escape, along with how fucking hard he is, tells Ilya that Shane’s protests are not entirely sincere. “What is problem?” Ilya says, feigning ignorance. “Your parents know we are together, I don’t think you will need to come out to them again.” “The problem, Ilya, is they’re fucking downstairs.” “That’s fine, soon we will be fucking upstairs.” “Oh god,” Shane exclaims, pulling a face and squirming some more. “You know I didn’t mean it like that.” Ilya’s grin only grows wider. “Seriously, Ilya- we can’t do this here. This is my childhood bedroom for fucks sake.” “Mm, I know. Is making me hot thinking about it. Hockey superstar Shane Hollander’s teenage bedroom, wow...” Ilya leans closer, pressing his mouth to the sensitive skin just below Shane’s ear. He kisses and then licks the spot, murmuring happily as Shane groans in response. “Ilya...” Shane hisses, sounding pained as well as desperately aroused. He squirms again, sending shivers running through Ilya’s body. There is nothing sweeter than hearing Shane say his name. Ilya continues to kiss and lick and bite at Shane’s neck and jawline to make him say it some more, before attempting to steal a kiss. “We can’t...” Shane murmurs, pulling away. His pupils are so dilated it’s like his eyes are pure black; dark, liquid pools of desire that Ilya cannot help but drown in. “We are here for whole weekend, Shane. I don’t think I can go so long without fucking you.” “You know we can’t do that, Ilya.” “So you’re not even going to kiss me?” Ilya asks, suddenly unable to tear his eyes away from Shane’s lips. The idea of not kissing him for two days is suddenly unbearable. “Oh, so that’s all you want- just a kiss?” Shane replies, clearly not believing a word of it. “Of course. Just one, simple, very innocent kiss.” “And you have to lie on top of me to do that?” “I find it helps, yes.” Shane smiles, and Ilya’s heart swells at the sight. It has only been a few months that they have been like this- able to enjoy each moment together freely, without either of them having to pretend this is less than it really is. In some ways it still feels completely novel and new, and Ilya can’t help but drink in every second, knowing this is what he wants for the rest of his life. Shane continues to regard Ilya fondly for some time. When he tries to move again Ilya lets him, loosening his hold on Shane’s wrists, enabling Shane to reach up to gently cup Ilya’s face before sliding his fingers into Ilya’s hair. “We have to behave...” Shane says, prompting Ilya to pull a face. Shane smiles wider, tugging lightly on Ilya’s hair as he adds: “But I promise if you’re good then I’ll make it up to you the next time we’re alone together.” “I am always good,” Ilya replies, resulting in a laugh from Shane. When Shane finally lifts his head to place a soft kiss to Ilya’s lips it is all that is needed to have Ilya nodding his agreement after they part, knowing he will do anything Shane asks. Of course, Ilya knows that part of the fun in agreeing to Shane’s rules is seeing just how far he can bend them... “You’re unbelievable...”

  16. When their son comes home with split knuckles and a suspension for throwing the first punch, Shane and Ilya just want to know one thing: what did the other kid do to deserve it? Or in which the Hollander-Rozanovs learn that raising good kids sometimes means teaching them when the rules are worth breaking. Shane’s phone rings at 12:39 PM on a Wednesday, which is already strange because people don’t usually call during the day unless something’s wrong. He’s in the kitchen making Sachiko’s favorite snacks for when she gets home from school — apple slices with that specific brand of almond butter she likes, the one with honey — when he sees the number. Ottawa West Secondary School. His stomach drops. “Hello?” “Mr. Hollander? This is Principal Matheson from Ottawa West Secondary.” Shane sets down the knife he’s been using, his hand suddenly unsteady. “Yes?” “I’m calling about Viktor. There’s been an incident at school today, and we need you and your husband to come in immediately.” “An incident?” Shane’s voice comes out higher than he intends. “Is he hurt? Is he okay?” “He’s not injured, but there was a physical altercation, and-” “A physical altercation? Viktor?” Shane almost laughs because the idea is so absurd. Viktor, who cried for an hour when he accidentally stepped on a snail when he was nine. Viktor, who mediates arguments between his friends instead of participating in them. Viktor, who’s never even raised his voice at his little sister despite her sometimes stealing his things and hiding them around the house. “Yes, Mr. Hollander. Viktor punched another student. We have a zero-tolerance policy for violence, and-” “We’ll be right there,” Shane interrupts, his heart hammering. “Twenty minutes.” He hangs up and immediately calls Ilya, who answers on the second ring. “Solnyshko, I am at store. They are out of the good pasta, the one Vitya likes. Should I-” “Ilya.” Shane’s voice cracks slightly. “We need to go to Viktor’s school. Now.” The line goes quiet for a beat. Then: “What is wrong? Is he hurt?” “No, he’s—they said he punched someone. They said he was in a fight.” “Vitya?” Ilya sounds as disbelieving as Shane feels. “Our Vitya?” “That’s what they said.” “I am coming home now. Two minutes.” Shane leans against the counter, his mind racing through possibilities. Viktor’s been quiet lately, maybe a little withdrawn, but Shane had chalked that up to typical teenage stuff. Hormones. Growing pains. The universal adolescent need to assert independence from one’s parents. Had Shane missed something? Had they both missed something? The front door bangs open, and Ilya strides in, still wearing his jacket, car keys jangling in his hand. “Okay,” Ilya says, slightly breathless. “Okay. We go now. Is probably mistake, yes? Maybe is different Viktor.” “There’s only one Viktor Hollander-Rozanov at that school, Ilya.” Ilya runs a hand through his hair, which is still thick despite being in his mid-forties, though there are silver threads now mixed in with the light brown curls. “Then is mistake in other way. Vitya does not fight. Is not who he is.” But Shane’s remembering the way Viktor went quiet at dinner two nights ago when Sachiko asked him how school was. The way he’d pushed food around his plate and said “Fine” in a tone that clearly meant it wasn’t fine at all. Shane had meant to follow up, had meant to talk to him, but then Sachiko had spilled her juice and the moment had been lost in the chaos of cleanup and bedtime routines. “We should go,” Shane says quietly. Ilya shoots him a look. “When have I ever let you do all talking?” “Ilya, I mean it. We need to stay calm and-”

Though he’d be lying if he said that his thoughts have been solely on them. Because every time he’s not busy, he finds his thoughts wandering to Ilya Rozanov. What is Rozanov doing? Does he even celebrate Christmas? Does he wish he could spend it back home in Russia? Does he have anyone to spend Christmas with? Would he want to spend it with Shane if he could?
