With a little [a lot] of help from Harris Drover, it’s all going according to plan. [Well, except Ilya keeps saying that being public friends means they're now officially friends with benefits. Shane did not buy Ilya a ring to be demoted to friends with benefits.]

    The camera tracks Shane and Ilya as they race back up the ice. They cross the finish line in a blur of speed and round on Harris.

    “I don’t-,” Harris says, “It was so tight. Maybe we call it a draw?”

    Ilya throws his arms up. “[Beep], is not a f-[beep]-ing draw, is-”

    “Harris, what the [beep]?” Shane shouts, eyes wide. “What do-”

    The two of them abruptly fall silent.

    “Um, sorry, sorry.” Ilya shrugs.

    Shane flushes. “Sorry, yeah, sorry Harris.”

    “So I’m guessing,” says Harris, “you want a re-do?”

    “Cannot be a tie,” Ilya says at the same time Shane says, “draws aren’t a real thing.”

    Harris can’t help it. He bursts out laughing.

It’s not his appendix? What’s going on?” “Hollander is in labor and the baby is coming very soon, so Pike please let the EMT’s load him up. He’s going to Montreal General. We called his parents and they’re on their way.” ______________________________ Shane Hollander had been under a lot of stress lately, coming out to his team, supporting his secret boyfriend, ect. So something may have slipped through the cracks and was now going to make itself known right here on the ice of this Ottawa vs. Montreal game.
