What happens when Ilya goes down the infamous Boston Cop Slide, and how does Shane react? Shane was in Boston, and it was one of the rare occasions when they got there the night before a late afternoon game which meant that he was able to go to Ilya’s apartment and spend the night without worrying too much about missing practice or getting weird looks from his teammates. He gave Hayden his usual ‘Lily’ excuse and left. His best friend had come to expect his disappearances anytime they played in Boston, and had already set his bags on what was supposed to be Shane’s bed, so leaving wasn’t difficult. It didn’t take him long to get to Ilya’s by Uber. He had his own key, though his boyfriend usually greeted him at the door. Shane was surprised when the other man wasn’t there. “Ilya?” He called, voice ringing through the large entryway. “In here!” He heard Ilya say from the living room. “Sorry, I didn’t realize you were here already.” Shane walked through Ilya’s home like he owned it. He had spent enough time there that it almost felt like he did, although most of that time wasn’t exactly spent studying the architecture…. In the living room, he found his boyfriend laying on the couch with an icepack pressed against his side. “What the fuck?” He quickly ran to Ilya, maneuvering the pack away to reveal a large, blooming bruise on his ribs. “Is fine.” Ilya’s wince as Shane’s fingers ran down his torso said otherwise. “Just a bruise.” “Did you get hit yesterday?” Shane thought back to Ilya’s previous game against the Admirals, but couldn’t remember him getting struck or pushed any harder than a light shove or two. Nothing that could cause a mark like that. Ilya shook his head. “Not by Admiral, no.” “But you got hit?” “No.” “Then…” “Is embarrassing.” Shane looked at his boyfriend and the blush slowly growing across his cheeks. God, he was adorable when he was bashful. Since he knew he could take it, he pressed a finger into his bruise. Ilya grit his teeth and batted at Shane’s hand. “Stop!” “Tell me how you got the bruise.” “Is-” “Embarrassing, I know. Tell me anyway.” Ilya groaned as Shane continued pressing into the bruise. Neither man would admit how pornographic the sound was, nor how hard both of their dicks were becoming. Usually it was Shane who was the masochist in the relationship, but once in a while after a particularly rough injury Ilya could relish the pain.

Shane stilled and his hand gripped the phone in it so tight his knuckles turned white. It didn't hurt. Not even a little, but Shane still felt it. More than he should have. His body quickly heated up and a feeling in his stomach bubbled up too fast he almost felt nauseous. His thoughts however made him feel even more sick. He wanted Ilya to do it again. or Shane finds out he liked it a little too much when Ilya slapped him on the phone call.

Shane’s birthday was coming up in a few days and the schedule worked out so they both had the same day off to celebrate a little early. Ilya was going to fly up to spend his 18 hours of freedom with Shane. So when Ilya called two weeks ago and asked what Shane wanted, the only good answer was “You.” Ilya responded with his typical sarcasm, “No. What do you want for present? I want to watch your eyes sparkle as you unwrap present.” Shane’s only thought was back to being pinned down at the cottage, “Well remember this summer when you had me pinned underneath you, and we had like the best sex ever. I guess I just want that again. I know it’s not really a present. But I haven’t seen you in so long, and I miss you.” “I miss you too. Thanks for idea.”

[excerpt] “Shane?” He swiveled his head toward the voice, unsure of what they wanted—what they expected of him. “Huh?” “Are you in a relationship with Ilya Rozanov?” Shane wasn’t sure how to answer or react. There wasn’t a single coherent thought in his head at the moment. He couldn’t breathe or even swallow. All he could do was stand there.

Ilya hadn't realized when he had started stroking his erection through his dusty, wax-covered pants. It had been instinctive. A strong urge that made his cheeks flush and made him hard as a rock as he stood there, crouched with his ear pressed against the cupboard door, listening to the sweet voice and filling his lungs with the most delicious aroma he could imagine. or what happens when you put two horndogs in a medieval fantasy setting close enough to develop a very serious case of sexual tension

Ilya and Shane's rivalry finally reaches a new level during their rookie F1 season. 2025 - BAKU, AZERBAIJAN Ilya Rozanov was the most successful Russian driver in the history of Formula 1, even without winning the championship yet. Something that remained as dominant as his growing talent through the feeder series to even make it to F1 was his rivalry with Shane Hollander. If it was so impressive when they were in karts and all the way up to F2, their F1 rivalry would be one for the history books. Or at least it would have it's own Wikipedia page. The problem was they weren't just rivals anymore. It started in their rookie F1 season. A development in their relationship. Ilya had lost the championship, an impressive performance in his debut season to even be a challenger, but Shane Hollander had won. And it skyrocketed him to levels of fame in and outside of F1. But Ilya had won Monaco in that same season. One jewel in the triple crown of motorsport. The problem was so did Hollander, depending on which requirements you follow. The triple crown was to win the Indy 500, 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Monaco Grand Prix or the F1 World Champion. Or win Monaco and the championship in the same season, that’d be easier. Everything was theoretically easy. In reality, it was hard, and only 20 people in the world understood the pressures of an F1 driver at a time. Ilya had been promoted to Red Bull halfway through his debut season. Hollander raced for McLaren from the get go. If he had been in the Red Bull from the start of the season, then he may have clinched the title. No. He definitely would've. He was one with that car. It was built especially for his driving style while his teammates always struggled and ended up backmarkers in a car that was easily the fastest on track. If driven by Ilya. But he had no doubt if Hollander was his teammate, he could also be on the front row with him. Well, he already was. Just in a McLaren. And that papaya orange infuriated him. Their title fight in their rookie seasons had as many twists and turns as Jeddah Corniche, feeling emotions they didn't think possible. Ilya told himself it was only natural to be concerned about Hollander when they collided into the barriers together into turn 1 on lap 1. They were rivals, competitors. Not enemies. He had offered him his hand to help him from the cockpit. He could tell he appreciated it, and they had a calm conversation when Ilya had visited him in his drivers’ room after they were both done with medical checks and media duties. Except that was what scared him. They’d stopped arguing. Started talking. And when Hollander had won the next race in a move Ilya found dirty, they didn't argue. 2024 - SHANGHAI, CHINA Ilya’s argument died on his lips the moment he saw Hollander, stripped down to the waist with the top half of race suit hanging from waist, fireproof undershirt folded on a chair as he was in the middle of changing. “The only reason you’ve won so much is due to the car,” Ilya started, but didn't continue when Hollander didn't either.

They sat in silence for a few seconds and watched the surf rolling in and out, in and out. Shane eased one knee up, resting his arm across it, watching Ilya out of the corner of his eye with infinite patience. “You wanna talk about it?” he asked, voice soft enough that the wind almost stole it. He did want to talk. His chest was full of words. Too full. But the idea of opening all that up? Of watching Shane recoil, or worse, watching him care? It was unbearable. The thought of being comforted by Shane, of feeling that warmth and knowing he couldn’t keep it, nearly crushed him. Ilya kept his eyes on the water, jaw tight. Shane reached out slowly and carefully and let the tip of one finger trace the outside of Ilya’s forearm. Just a whisper of contact. A question, not a demand. Ilya looked at him. Shane gave a small tilt of his hand, beckoning him closer. “Come here.” **** A deviation from the All-Star weekend in Tampa: Instead of finding Shane on the bench, it’s Ilya alone with his ghosts and falling apart in ways he never lets anyone see. Until Shane sits beside him. The tide is ceaseless and the night is heavy. Canon diverges; feelings don't.

slight canon divergence au where Shane's parents find out he's gay and seeing Ilya because of Shane's lack of filter at the hospital due to the painkillers he's on Extract: “Ilya was here,” he smiled again. “Yes, honey. I know. They told us. What do you want from Rozanov?” Shane threw his head back, staring at the ceiling, “him.” Before she could ask Shane what on earth he was talking about, he shifted on the bed again and continued, “Always. Ilya.” “We were supposed to meet after the game!” he whined. “But, fucking Marlow, ugh-” he gesticulated with his uninjured hand, “aaaand now I won’t be able to play… and I won’t see him.” Shane’s adorable pout was not nearly cute enough to distract her from… whatever was happening. “You’re… Rozanov? You- you and… Rozanov are… friends?” she raised an eyebrow. “And you hang out after games? Since when?”

Normally he would never. Normally he keeps this tight, locked behind his ribs, measured and careful and quiet. Normally every thought about Ilya gets sorted before it ever reaches his mouth. He makes sure nothing sounds like too much. But the medication has loosened something he usually keeps wound tight. It has softened the reflex that tells him to stop, to swallow words back down before they can do damage. His thoughts drift instead of snapping into line, and his feelings rise up faster than he can push them away. Once the words start, they do not want to stop. They feel good coming out, like easing pressure he did not realize was building. — hospital scene where high shane spills his feelings about ilya :)

Shane catches a cold and Ilya makes him a tea. The hotel’s carpet, patterned in a taste Ilya found offensive, carried him toward the end of the hall. With each quiet step, the knot in his chest cinched tighter. Excitement tangled with trepidation, the need to touch Shane pressing harder than the fear that this time, the door would remain closed. Perhaps Hollander had already written off their handful of hurried meetings as a fluke. A mistake. But this was Boston. His hometown. And Ilya had already been lucky once tonight. A five–three win, an additional two goals on his record-breaking season. Midnight had only just passed; maybe the day still owed him one more kindness. When he reached the room number Hollander had reluctantly given him in passing, murmuring in the hallway behind the rink before the game, Ilya paused. He glanced over his shoulder, down the empty corridor, confirming no one would witness him slipping into his competition’s room. Then, with a staccato drum beating beneath his battered ribs, he raised his hand and rapped his knuckles against the door. Time slowed to a near halt as he waited, restlessly tapping his foot against the floor for any shuffle behind the door. Nothing came. He knocked again, harder. Most of the Metros were likely out drowning Boston’s nightlife, but Ilya was certain Hollander wasn’t among them. There was a long list of things he still didn’t know about him, but one truth had surfaced early: number twenty-four wasn’t a fan of parties, or drinking, or dancing. Boring, Ilya had declared at the time, unwilling to admit he’d found the abstinence quietly endearing. It was rare, after all, for a man in his early twenties, at the prime of his life, blessed with a generous salary and a face most people recognized, to spend his nights watching juvenile YouTube videos and sipping Ginger Ale alone in a hotel room. He lifted his hand to knock a third time. The soft vibration in his jeans pocket stopped him. Can’t happen tonight. Sorry. Disappointment bloomed bitter on his tongue. He swallowed it down, refusing to give it room to linger. So that was it. Their fling, short-lived, messy, clumsy, infuriatingly fun, was over Even as Ilya tried to accept the truth of it, his hand betrayed him, knocking anyway. At the faint rustle of bedsheets behind the door, he tugged out his phone and typed a quick reply. I know you’re there. Open up, Hollander. Somewhere inside the room, he heard a humorless sound bleed through the silence. Half a laugh, half a breath. Then, a cough. It sounded hollow, dry. Another text. Go away, Rosanov. Ilya’s determination was fierce, an unstoppable force. It was what had carried him this far, onto Boston’s starting line, into the life he’d dreamed of as an eight-year-old with a pair of used skates and only the roughest grasp of English. That same tenacity refused to let him walk away now. He sighed, dragging a hand through his brown curls as he weighed his next move. Someone’s going to see me. It wasn’t dignified, dangling the threat of exposure over Hollander’s head. Rumors would spread fast if he were found loitering outside a competitor’s hotel room in the dead of night, and they’d damn Ilya just as thoroughly as they would Hollander. Still, when it worked, satisfaction curled warm in his chest. The deadbolt slid free, and the sound sparked low in his stomach. “Get in,” Hollander rasped. “Now, you idiot.” “So excited to see me,” Ilya teased, slipping through the narrow opening and pulling the door shut behind him. The television was the room’s only light, its flicker casting long shadows over the rumpled sheets and a small pile of Kleenex on the nightstand. Ilya’s gaze snagged there, drifted to a bottle of NyQuil, then lifted back to Hollander. Red nose. Swollen eyes. Instinctively, he stepped back. “You’re sick.” “You think I was playing like shit for fun?” Hollander snapped, though the bite didn’t land. Whatever fire he’d burned on the ice was gone now. The man in front of him was spent, shirtless and damp with sweat, trousers hanging low and wrinkled on his hips, exhaustion etched into every line. Still, Ilya’s attention lingered. He couldn’t help noticing the shape of his bare arms, remembering the way those fingers had slid up his chest, over his cheek, through his hair. “Not worse than usual,” Ilya shrugged, resisting a smile when Hollander rolled his eyes. “Fuck off,” Hollander muttered. Their usual banter fell flat when every word cost him something, when his limbs dragged as he turned back toward the bed and nearly collapsed onto the edge of the mattress. “You want to get sick too? You’ve got a game tomorrow.” “I am Russian,” Ilya said simply. “Russians do not get sick.”
