  1. “What the fuck are you doing?” Rozanov shouts, which is just insulting. He’s mourned three of his teammates and now she’s tackling him in his bedroom.

Obviously Jackie’s here to kill him, but he’s looking her dead in the eyes and still can’t see a murderer. Talk about a stereotype.

Or: Jackie Pike’s a serial killer making her way through Boston’s roster. Ilya Rozanov is harder to kill than she expected.

  2. Hayden Pike has a 4.9-star rating on FanMail and one rule: never watch it back. Brad from Cornwall gets a very nice video about his truck. Then a lot of people have to clean up after it.

A shoulder injury sees Ilya retire two years before his husband. Too much time on his hands means Ilya falls down the well-trodden path of too much childhood trauma leading to a lot of therapy leading to becoming a stand-up comedian.

LAZY • 1 hour of comedy by Ilya ROZANOV

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - ‘Highly entertaining.’

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - ‘Very funny, surprisingly insightful.’

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - ‘Queer, loud and very, very funny.’

⭐️ - ‘Technically competent show but extremely arrogant and somewhat debauched.’

That leads to both another round of laughter and a cheer. On stage, Ilya grins.

“Yes, but I knew even then that staying in Russia was maybe a very bad idea. Because queer and Russian is recipe for very traditional Russian tragedy, yes? Which, generally speaking, are not good.” Ilya holds up a hand, counting on his fingers. “Napoleonic Wars, Stalingrad, Chernobyl, getting caught sucking cock with your Coach’s son. All of these would be bad, no? Very high body counts, probably.”

There’s a lot of laughter now. In the front row, Svetlana wipes at her eyes, shoulders shaking.

  4. Summer at the cottage was supposed to be relaxing. It turns into everything but—when Ilya drops “I could marry Svetlana” for an american visa like it’s a grocery list item. Shane’s face says over my dead body while Ilya, delighted, teases him for looking ready to commit “murder-suicide.” (He’s not wrong.) Shane Hollander has one big problem: he can’t let Ilya Rozanov marry anyone else. Not now. Not ever. So he does the unthinkable and proposes the most boring solution imaginable almost by accident. / Canon-Divergence /
