“Shane…” “Who the fuck do you think you’re calling Shane?” “Sweetheart,” Ilya corrects, tilting his head down against Shane’s grip on his hair to try to catch his lips. “Please.” “I can do everything she can,” Shane says. “But you’ve been a bit too naughty today. I’m tying you up first.” “Oh, no,” Ilya says, voice going high and breathy. “That’s terrible.” — Or - The jealous Shane/pathetic top Ilya fic where Shane makes Ilya beg for it

“What do you want, Hollander?” Ilya gasps out, surprised he’s capable of even formulating a simple thought, “Tell coach what you want.” He’s the older one, the mature one, the one with all the power. The least he could do is ask Shane what he wants. Shane pauses his movements before looking up and meeting eyes with his coach. Brown eyes almost seem to sparkle with tears, mouth agape with soft little pants. He trembles slightly, overwhelmed by the question, as if he doesn't know what to say. Finally, he adjusts his knees on the cold, hard floor and lets go of the pulsing cock in his hand before leaning back slightly. Eyes shut closed, he takes a breath. “Fuck my throat, coach.” ___ Coach Ilya and his star player Shane have been sleeping with each other for a year.

Shane has always been a soft Alpha, but all the years he spent sleeping with Ilya, a dominant Alpha, unknowingly caused his body to change, turning him into an Omega. He doesn’t know how to feel about it; he doesn’t mind, but surely Ilya won’t want to be with an Omega when all he’s ever been with are Alphas. Or, Shane is now an Omega and hides it because he’s worried Ilya won’t want him anymore, but what he doesn’t know is that Ilya loves him for him, and it’s not going to change anything. It had been a month since Shane last saw Ilya, and then he started noticing small changes in his body. He didn’t think too much of it at the time, but it was strange. He had started smelling sweeter, and the scent of his Alpha teammates had become more noticeable—not repulsive, but stronger, and at times overwhelming. Sure, that never happened before, but he had been stressed lately; more so because he seemed to have been missing Ilya more than normal. Anyway, nothing new didn’t happen for a long time, at least until last week when his stomach started cramping out of the blue in the most achingly painful way imaginable. He knew then it was time to see his doctor, but he had forgotten to make an appointment, and when he remembered, he needed to wait another two weeks due to unavailability. It was fine; he could wait. The pain wasn’t persistent; it came and went, and somehow always made him feel the need for sex. He tried to convince himself he was probably just going into a Rut, but it never came in hot flashes, and pain that caused him to double over. It wasn’t when his teammates joked about how he’d been sweating all over the place despite spending time on ice, and how flushed he’d gotten in the face like an Omega in Heat, did Shane realized something was definitely wrong, and barged into his doctor’s office, desperately in need of answers. They did several tests, and then it was confirmed: Shane Hollander, an Alpha by birth, was now transitioning into an Omega. The change in his scent, the sweating, the pain, and the harrowing need to see Ilya, an Alpha, his Alpha, he was preparing to go into his first Heat. It was safe to say, he didn’t take the news well. How could this have been possible? He had never heard of an Alpha turning into an Omega. It made no sense. To his doctor, it made perfect sense. There was only one way an Alpha could’ve turned into an Omega; it was rare but not unheard of. Shane might’ve been an Alpha, but he was a soft Alpha—it was no secret to anyone, and it was why he got along with almost everyone. However, if he was sleeping with a dominant Alpha, over time, his body would change to accommodate said Alpha. This was just his body's way of saying he wanted Ilya to be his Alpha, his mate. He should feel happy. They could be together; truly be together. Ilya could mark him permanently—he had always hoped for it, but Alphas couldn’t mark each other; it just wouldn’t stay. But… Ilya favored Alphas over Omegas; it was why he liked Shane so much. Surely, now there wouldn’t be a reason for him to stay; surely he would leave. Shane didn’t know how to feel about it; it was best to keep this a secret. ___________________ It had been a month of minor inconvenience, avoiding going to practice, and completely ignoring all of Ilya’s calls and texts, afraid the Alpha would know and reject him, before Shane’s first Heat finally arrived. It took reasonably longer since he was transitioning from an Alpha to an Omega, but it still took him by surprise when he woke up this morning, burning up, caked in sweat, and with a deep, penetrating ache in his stomach and lower back that made him slumped back into bed, panting and crying into the sheets for the Alpha he had been so desperately trying to avoid for the past month. The whole room smelt like an Omega; it was all-consuming and stifling, and drenched in darkness except for the yellow night lamp in the corner. Shane gasped and whimpered when a sudden, painful flare pierced through his lower stomach and all the way to his cock. It had been ten hours since this god-awful Heat started. It was already night, he was naked, trying to ride it out as best as he could, but he couldn’t do this anymore. He was dying—surely. How would he survive another three days of this? He had jerked himself off at least four times, but it wasn’t enough. He needed an Alpha’s knot; he needed Ilya, and regretted not telling the other man. Maybe Ilya wouldn’t have rejected him on the spot if he begged the Alpha to stay. The bed had long been soaked with his slick, something his body never produced before. He had tried touching himself there, but it wasn’t enough—nothing was ever enough! Maybe— “Fuck,” he whined the second he gripped his aching, stiff, and leaking cock in his hand. It was too much—the sensation nearly blinded him, but not in comfort, but hellbent pain. “Ilya. Ilya… I can’t—” “Shane?! Open the door.” That voice, followed by a loud, thundering knock on the bedroom door. It was Ilya. How did the Alpha find him? And how the fuck did he get into the house? There was no one home. Shane’s mind cleared just enough for him to start panicking again. What would Ilya say once he found out that Shane had turned into an Omega? He didn’t think he could handle a rejection, not now—not ever. No. He needed to get out of there. But where would he go? He couldn’t move three feet without falling over in pain. Shane gasped, his fingers squeezing, twisting into the sheets as he struggled to lift himself off the bed, and was unable to do so. “Hollander!” Ilya yelled, his voice deep and thundering. “Open the fucking door before I break it down! Now!” Ilya sounded very much like an angry Alpha. Why was he angry? Did Shane do something to anger him? He whimpered at the thought; tears suddenly clouded his eyes. He didn’t… oh, right. He had been avoiding Ilya. But why was he being so demanding?

Shane’s eyes meet his, and there’s a particular gloss to them that Ilya has come to recognize. He squeezes Shane’s hand before letting it go, keeping his voice quiet so Shane has to really listen as he instructs, “I want you to get on your knees. With your head on my leg. And then you are going to sit there until I tell you to move. And if you can do that, maybe tonight leads to happy endings.” Shane licks his lips. “What if I can’t?” he asks, but they both already know he’s going to. Ilya moves his head from side to side, pretending to mull it over, before answering, “I think you can.” Shane plays terribly, contributing to a 6-1 loss for Montreal. Ilya employs his new skills as the best soft dom in the universe to make him feel better about it.

Ilya tutted. “Uhm like Father Christmas- Santa Claus, yes? Only, on New Year. Old man visits home, walks through front door, and greets children with present. Less creepy than Santa Claus.” Shane furrowed his eyebrows. “You think Santa is creepy?” “Listen to song, Shane. He sees you when you’re sleeping- knows when you’re awake..” Ilya waved a hand and scrunched up his face as he gently leaned over to inspect the small Christmas village people. “He watches like some pervert.” Shane surprises Ilya by decorating for christmas....Shane gets railed....and Ilya makes the Hollander parents cry.

Ilya had grown up in a world where affection was currency, measured and withdrawn at will. Where love was earned through achievement, and failure was repaid with absence. Every triumph was a plea. Every mistake, a debt. Ilya had learned early that tenderness could not be trusted. And Shane, for all his easy warmth, had no idea what to do with that kind of wound. His first instinct was to fix it. To tell Ilya that he was loved, that he was safe, that he didn’t have to be afraid. He learned soon enough that words meant nothing to someone who’d been punished by them all his life.

Ilya loved this part best. Not just the sex, though he would never pretend it hadn't been good, hadn't been exactly what Shane needed. What Ilya loved was this: the quiet after, the way Shane went soft and pliable once the sharp edges burned out of him. Once the anger drained away and left something warm and loose behind.

Shane wonders if it's weird that he's not a more jealous person, considering Ilya's sexual history. Maybe it'd have festered more have they been apart for longer than that one season of hiding, when he was still Montreal and heartsick for someone a province away. But now that they're both in Ottawa, that scenario is impossible. Four of Ilya's old conquests.

"Roz?" Everything was too loud around them. From the outside, these moments, a player getting hurt, had always been disgustingly silent, but Cliff's ears couldn't stop ringing. He shoved a foot forward, the muscles on the side of his thigh smarting as he tried to skate closer, but the referees were already there. Hands on his shoulders pulled him back, pulled him close. "I didn't mean to." A whimper. The arms around him tightened, pulling him further back, off the ice. "I didn't mean to. Didn't mean to. Didn't -" Or What if Cliff Marlow had hit Ilya in a game against the Ottawa Centaurs and had to deal with the confusion that was his crazy former captain and best friend high on pain meds. At least those meds were hopefully the reason for his craziness. Why else would Rozanov be calling Shane Hollander his sweetheart?

Butt Cream and Sprankle Glitter by ThePromptWasntThisLong (shredded_potato)
Heated Rivalry (TV), Game Changers Series - Rachel Reid
2025-12-17
“Arti-SEE-anal butt cream cake,” Ilya says, louder, stubbornly proud. “What? Why you laugh? They say it is arti-SEE-anal butt cream frosting. I say same thing.” Shane pinches the bridge of his nose. “Buttercream, Ilya. Butter-cream.” A sprinkle-shot challenge, a toddler-esque fight with JJ, and a fake fireplace later, Shane realizes this might be the best birthday ever. Shane spends the afternoon leaning against the kitchen counter with loops of icing ideas running through his brain, because he knows Ilya has been pacing for ten minutes straight. Pacing is not new in their apartment—post-game pacing, pre-game pacing, pacing whenever Shane leaves a stray sock on the floor—but this pacing is special. Ilya mutters words in Russian, then French, then some mashed-up bastardization that probably counts as a new dialect. His phone screen glows in his palm, speaker volume turned up so loud the hold music hisses thinly through the kitchen. “‘Froosteenk,’” he snarls at the air, rolling his eyes to the ceiling like the light fixture personally offended him. Shane leans on the island and smirks. “It’s ‘frosting.’” “That is what I say.” Ilya swipes his hand through the air. “Froosteenk.” “Listen, it’s froooosting. Lengthen the vowel.” Ilya scowls harder and jabs the phone screen. “Do not correct me. I know words. I am four languages.” “You are four languages,” Shane says. “You are also saying ‘frosting’ like it murdered your mother.” Ilya spins, the cord on their kitchen window blinds tangling around his forearm as he walks. The operator finally picks up—some cheerful woman whose voice sits at the pitch only golden retriever puppies can hear. “Hello, this is Kara at Sweet Slice Bakery. How can I help—” “I want big cake with…with…” Ilya loses it, hand waving, brows furrowing. “You know. Happy birthday Shane. Chocolate inside. White…” He hesitates. “White…froosteenk.” There is a tiny pause from Kara. “I’m sorry?” Ilya huffs out a breath, glances at Shane, then stomps toward him with the phone held out like it might catch fire. “They make me talk nonsense. I have NHL contract but cannot say cake.” He thrusts the phone at Shane’s chest. Shane takes it, biting his lip to stifle laughter, and switches to the smooth, effortless tone of a man conquering cake orders. “Hi, sorry, uhm, he wants a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting, twelve-inch round, simple ‘Happy birthday, Shane’ in blue piping.” He listens, nodding, wraps an arm around Ilya’s waist when Ilya leans against him like a scowling oak tree. “Pickup Friday morning works.” Kara sweetly confirms and the call ends. Shane hangs up, sets the phone on the counter, and turns toward Ilya with blatant glee. “There. Cake secured. And no one accidentally ordered ‘frosted sin’.” Ilya’s eyes narrow. “That is what she thinks I say?” “You mangled it so hard it sounded like ‘frosted sin.’ Which...honestly sounds delicious. Maybe you invented a new dessert.” “I am terrifying athlete. I fight bears in Siberia.” Ilya grabs Shane by the waist and lifts him until his butt hits the counter. “Little stubborn Hollywood boy should fear me.” The smug retort Shane stored up dissolves when Ilya leans in and kisses him, a smooth mouth pressing against Shane’s and humming softly. Shane curls his fingers in Ilya’s hair and nips his lower lip. “My big, scary Russian,” he murmurs against the kiss, tone thick with affection, “defeated by buttercream.” Friday morning rolls in with the bakery’s doorway chime squealing like a bird with a sinus infection, and Ilya ducks his six-foot-three frame beneath the string of paper cupcakes hanging across the ceiling. He announces himself to the bewildered teenager behind the counter by slapping both palms on the glass and declaring, “We are here for froosteenk doom.” Shane, who is still rubbing sleep out of his eyes, takes a leisurely half-step forward. “We’re picking up the Hollander order.” He flashes the employee a smile so easy the kid practically levitates to the back room. Ilya folds his arms, eyes on the cake boxes lining the counter, chest puffed like the bakery is his arena. “Ask them for extra…sprankle glitter,” he says under his breath. “Sprankle glitter?” “You know. The crunchy little sugar people.” “Sugar…people.” “Yes. You put on top. Sprankle glitter.” Ilya nods with solemn conviction. Shane has no idea what sprankle glitter might be, but he would arm-wrestle every pastry chef in the city if that is what it took to keep this glower directed at desserts. “We’ll see what they have,” he says, palms up, when the box is presented like a sacred relic. The design is simple, blue script gliding over white icing, perfect for the team dinner they’ll hold later. Ilya stares at the words, the corners of his mouth twitching upward, his thumb rubbing over the cardboard lid like he just landed a hat trick. The kid looks at Ilya the way people look at grizzlies in national parks. “Do you, um, need anything else?” Ilya clears his throat. “Do you sell sprankle glitter?” Shane can’t help himself. “He means sprinkles.”
