Shane felt his cheeks get warm despite the cold of the arena, tucking his face into his hoodie. "I don't wear them anymore because I can't see my feet to put them on. There I said it, happy?" Ilya laughed at first, thought Shane was kidding, that was until a puck went sailing through the air and landed in front of Shane. Or The one where poor Shane has lost the ability to see his feet

“Have you ever thought about fucking me in my sleep?”
Ilya had nearly dropped his phone as he let the words process slowly in his head. And Shane flipped a page in his book before looking up at Ilya, innocently, like he hadn’t just–
“I mean only if you want to, I just think it would be hot, you know?”
Ilya heaves a sigh and tries to put the image out of his head. It would be wrong, no? For him to–for them to–or, Shane has a new kink he wants to try. Ilya fights for his fucking life.
This is pure filth involving Somnophilia, Ilya's feelings about it, and Shane being a freak.

Angry footsteps thudded up the stairs, stopping just short of the edge of their bed. Shane's presence loomed there, his hands placed on his hips as he stared down his husband. There was something in his hands or rather a piece of clothing — his team issued sweatshirt. It was one of Shane's favorites to wear, it had become somewhat of a comfort item for him to wear. Well, that and the fact that it was one of the only sweatshirts that still fit this far into his pregnancy. "My sweatshirt doesn't fit." Shane folded his arms over his rounded midsection, brow scrunched together in the middle in an angry pout. Or Shane is getting bigger and is convinced Ilya is out to get him.

It was a funny story now when it came to telling the story of how their second child came to be. Shane's first pregnancy was…something. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't exactly a walk in the park and postpartum was rocky so when it boiled down to the question of — will there be another? The answer was always a really really soft no. Or the story of how Shane and Ilya baby trapped each other with baby number two.

Missed Understandings by Anonymous
Game Changers Series - Rachel Reid, Heated Rivalry (TV)

Being famous means that a lot of people develop certain perceptions of you. Ilya Rozanov generally doesn't mind this. He has, after all, spent years curating that very perception. He minds it a lot more when people have certain misunderstandings about his husband, and sets out to rectify them in his signature chaotic way. --- Or; 4 times Ilya taught the world about his husband, and one time Shane did.

"Okay it says here that we need to try all the major allergens on her before six months. That lessens her chances of being allergic so maybe just maybe she'll not be allergic to everything coming and going." Shane had read up on all this information early on, memorizing it, highlighting and printing Ilya out a copy of it with bullet points. Or the one where Sofia has a peanut allergy.

Ilya gets quiet sometimes. He’s such a boisterous and loudly excited person that when it goes away, it’s like a vacuum has sucked the air out of the room. And Shane will never tell him that–it would do more harm than help–but it’s true. He loves every version of Ilya, including this one. But there is something young about his cocky arrogance and brightness that reminds Shane of their years wanting and wanting and not having. Or, I somehow made a cock warming fic that doubles as an Ilya mental health study.

“Sometimes, I wish he was a worse person,” Ilya admits one night, while he and Yuna are doing the dishes. Shane and Ilya had come over for chicken parmesan, and it had been a lovely dinner, right up until David, clearing the plates, mentioned that he had met a guy at the store the other day who was a big fan of Shane’s, had a kid who idolized him.
David asked if Shane could sign a piece of merchandise for him, maybe record a video. Shane said yes, because he had a rule, about doing things for child fans. Now, Shane was off shooting a video while Ilya did the dishes, and Ilya already knew the way it would require Shane to drag his public face up from the depths of his stomach, the work it would take him to shed it afterwards, the way it would taint this evening.

He seemed to have that mindset for a lot of things. And it was becoming increasingly problematic for Ilya, though he’d never admit it. He would prance around the lawn behind a push mower, foam earplugs jammed in his ear canal, and look perfectly content as the grass bag filled up. He would come into the house and wrap Ilya in his arms and his clothes would smell like fresh grass clippings and it would be so sweet that Ilya would have to kiss him and suck his dick right wherever Shane found him. Or, Five times Ilya has a domestic kink, and one time he... has a domestic kink, but in the opposite direction.

And then there is Ilya Rozanov after all of them, the cocky eighteen year old smoking in front of a no-smoking sign outside an arena in Saskatchewan. Ilya Rozanov, hockey player, born in Moscow, Russia to Irina Rozanova and Grigori Rozanov (though Shane wouldn’t really know this until much later). June 15, 1991. Shane was born before him so, technically, Rozanov has never known a life without Shane Hollander, which he will definitely lord over him whenever he’d get the chance to. His jersey number is 81. He’s a center like Shane. He’s the captain of the Boston Raiders. He’s a Gemini, though Shane has no idea how that affects him, if it has any bearing on his personality at all. Shane thinks there’s none because Rozanov is an asshole regardless, but all the tabloids insist that there is. He’s six foot three; only an inch taller than Shane. He’s a boy. There’s this thing that he does where he rubs his nose whenever he’s lying. It’s a pretty easy tell, and Rozanov is not a very good liar. He’s a boy, a boy, a boy.
Sometimes, he wishes Rozanov was a girl instead.

Built For The Ice, Not The Lights by Anonymous
Heated Rivalry (TV), Game Changers Series - Rachel Reid

His heartbeat was too fast. His chest felt tight. The microphone foam brushed his knuckles and the texture was suddenly unbearable, coarse, wrong. Too loud. Too bright. Too close. Too much. He needed space. or After an intense game and overwhelming post-game media scrum, Shane hits sensory overload and has a meltdown. Ilya finds him hiding away and stays, grounding him through it and reminding him he doesn’t have to handle everything alone. The worst part wasn’t the game. Shane could handle the game. The game had rules. It had structure. It had the clean geometry of the rink, the crisp bite of steel on ice, the predictable rotation of shifts. Even when it was chaotic, it was a chaos he understood. Pucks moved in patterns. Bodies angled in lines. Systems nested inside systems. Shane had been mapping them in his head since he was a kid. Media Day did not have rules. Or rather, it had too many. “Just be yourself,” the PR woman had said with a bright smile that hurt to look at. “Relax. Smile. Keep your answers light.” Be yourself. Relax. Light. The hallway outside the locker room was already too loud. Reporters clustered like birds, their voices overlapping in sharp bursts. The lights from the camera rigs were brighter than usual, hot and white and relentless. Someone had turned the music up in the dressing room, bass thudding through his ribs. Shane stood at his stall, fingers curled around the edge of the wooden bench. He tried to catalog sensations the way his therapist had taught him. Too bright. Too loud. Fabric itchy at the back of his neck. The elastic in his compression shirt digging into his ribs. Sweat cooling too fast along his spine. He inhaled for four counts. Held for four. Exhaled for four. “Hollander!” someone called. “You ready?” He nodded automatically. He was always ready. Except today his skin felt like it was two sizes too small. The game itself was brutal. Fast, punishing, every hit to his body landing harder than it should. It was the kind of rivalry matchup that fed headlines for weeks. Shane scored once, assisted once, and blocked a shot that left a bruise blooming across his thigh. He played well. He played the way he always did, precise, relentless, methodical. But the crowd was louder than usual, a constant wall of noise pressing against his skull. Every whistle shrieked. Every horn drilled straight through him. When he sat on the bench, the smell of sweat and rubber and ammonia stung the back of his throat. By the third period, his thoughts had started to fragment. Too loud. Too bright. Too much. He missed a pass he would normally make without looking. His stick felt wrong in his hands, the tape uneven. His gloves were damp and suffocating. When the final buzzer sounded and the arena erupted, the sound didn’t feel like celebration. It felt like an explosion. They won. Someone clapped him on the helmet. “Media’s gonna love you tonight, Hollander.” The thought made his heart sink just a little. The hallway afterward was worse. The lights hadn’t dimmed. If anything, they were harsher. Microphones were thrust toward his face, logos flashing. Questions overlapped, voices stacking on top of each other until he couldn’t separate them. “Shane, talk about that second-period goal—” “Was that set play something you practiced—” “How does it feel to beat—” “How much pressure did you feel coming into—” Pressure. He felt pressure everywhere. In his ears. In his teeth. Behind his eyes. He tried to answer the first question. He opened his mouth. The words did not come out in the right order. “I—uh—the play, it was—” The lights flickered slightly as someone adjusted a camera, and the motion snagged his focus. “We practiced—no, I mean—” Someone laughed softly, not unkindly, but it sliced through him anyway. His heartbeat was too fast. His chest felt tight. The microphone foam brushed his knuckles and the texture was suddenly unbearable, coarse, wrong. Too loud. Too bright. Too close. Too much. He needed space.
