“I’ve been thinking about doing something like this for a while,” Wiebe admitted. “Though originally I was going to reach out to an actress. Get a nice, pretty, girl next door type on his arm for a year or so. Straighten out his image just enough to get him back to ‘loveable bad boy’ instead of 'on the edge of being cancelled‘. But hey, now I can kill two birds with one stone!”

Shane Hollander is a working actor in need of some exposure to get his big break. Ilya Rozanov is an international rock star in need of a reputation boost after his latest scandal. The powers that be think a PR relationship between the two will get everyone what they want.

So begins a year long, very public romance as Hollywood's latest young 'it' couple. Can Shane survive the scrutiny that comes with fame in exchange for a shot at success? Can Ilya keep it together long enough to fulfill the contract? And will either of them make it to the end date without a broken heart?

So, I'm trying something a little different with this new installment in the series, and I know it won't be everyone's cup of tea.

As much as I adore M/M, I've always wanted to throw my hat into the very small pool of Female!Shane/Male!Ilya stories. I've also been itching to write the actor!Shane trope for quite some time, so I finally decided to combine the two.

Another reason I wanted to write this fic is that, while I absolutely love exploring Shane's Japanese heritage, I realized I've been neglecting Ilya's Russian heritage throughout this series. I wanted to give that side of him more attention here and explore it in a way I haven't before.

I really hope you'll give it a chance, and if you do, I'd love to hear what you think. I hope you enjoy it! ❤️

“I don’t remember his name. Blond. Russian. Kind of intense.” Shane tries to keep his brain from lingering on memories of Ilya’s hands in his hair. Rose has her mouth open when he looks over at her. “You literally talked to the team captain and you didn’t even know? Shane, that was Ilya Rozanov.” Shane feels like he can’t breathe for a second at the sound of his name. “That sounds right. Yeah.” After a few seconds, Rose holds out her phone. It’s a picture of Ilya she has pulled up from Google. He’s in a hockey uniform but his helmet is off, curly hair glistening with sweat. “This is who you talked to, right?” Shane nods. He hopes that it isn't obvious on his face that he did much more than talking with the man. AU Where Shane Hollander is a rising actor and meets hockey star Ilya Rozanov at a club while celebrating an award show win. Between filming a movie where Shane is playing a gay man and having a casual relationship with Ilya, Shane deals with defining his sexuality and trying not to ruin their casual relationship with his feelings for Ilya.
