He’d waited until Shane’s anxiety about fitting in found him nursing a beer. It went to his head like bubbles in a fresh popped bottle of champagne. A bottle of champagne that Shane shook too hard, annoyed by the endless questions, and, well, the cork blew. However, instead of a cork, “I’m gay” shot out of Shane’s mouth. It changed everything as much as he feared it would.
