He’s becoming painfully aware of the ginormous rock settling in his stomach while trying to keep the sexy mood alive and not completely kill it by acknowledging the very big, very blue-pink-white striped elephant in the room trying to hide under a singular queen-sized bedsheet. Maybe he could politely ask it to leave?
Any second now, Shane could turn his head and nuzzle into his very flaccid packer and then there would be questions and he would have to reveal that he kind of lied to them and then they’ll probably kick him out because Shane is gay and hates pussy, and Ilya might be bi but what if he doesn’t hate pussy, he just hates it when it’s attached to a guy and holy shit he’ll have to get traded, he’ll have to call Wiebe and tell him to send him as far away as possible, to Minnesota or some shit, because he’s never playing with Ottawa again after this, fuck the elephant is going to be such a bitch to move to Minnesota—
OR: Luca kind of forgets to tell Shane and Ilya that he's trans, but luckily there's a particular skill Shane Hollander never got around to master (Just ask Rose Landry!), and Ilya has a point to prove.

“Shane, Sasha said to me, on my birthday: ‘‘Who will you go home with tonight, seeing as you’ve slept with half the bar already.’ And now I will tell him he’s a huge slut so he has no room to talk.” And then Sveta said something in Russian that Shane assumed was just that.

"Everything was too much. Every number was too high. He didn’t necessarily want to change anything about his reflection. He had a healthy body, a good body--He was healthier than most of the population as a pro-athlete, and he took care of himself. But he did want to make sure his body stayed that way while he was resting. Limiting his intake made this possible, and he smiled a little when he saw the number on the scale go down, little by little every day, sickeningly proud of himself." -or- Shane Hollander is forced to rest. This has consequences.

Shane fled the ice. Maybe he had just imagined– As he stumbled down the tunnel, he wedged a hand into his skin tight hockey gear, gathered some of the wetness and brought it to his nose. The scent was obvious: his heat had started.

Shane has a panic attack before a big press conference after one of the Montreal metro's biggest losses since he’d been captain. Ilya decides to go find him and talks his boy down from a heart attack (basically, I saw Shane freaking out before the MLH Awards and decided, yeah, he has debilitating panic attacks)
