Shane and Ilya were reunited for the first time since tuna melt down. All weekend they have been flirting, and the day before they both fly out, they are finally alone in Ilya's hotel room. Confessions are made, tears are shed, but what transpired after their first kiss in months? This is my version of events after the cameras cut out, before they both say goodnight.

“When you think about it, Ilya really tried to open up to Shane in that first episode. But that ‘must be nice’ pulled him back.” So, what if Shane hadn’t said ‘must be nice’? (Set on the roof of the NHL Awards at the end of episode 1)

He drives to the airport with an unshakeable urge to pull over and turn around. He smokes four cigarettes in a row before he boards the plane, then chews an entire pack of gum on the flight to try and cover the worst of the smell.
He exits the airport half-hoping that Shane has chickened out of the whole thing. Then he spots him, tapping his fingers against the steering wheel in the most boring suburban dad car Ilya has ever had the misfortune of laying his eyes on, and he’s so happy to see him that his legs feel unsteady beneath his weight.
