Angry footsteps thudded up the stairs, stopping just short of the edge of their bed. Shane's presence loomed there, his hands placed on his hips as he stared down his husband. There was something in his hands or rather a piece of clothing — his team issued sweatshirt. It was one of Shane's favorites to wear, it had become somewhat of a comfort item for him to wear. Well, that and the fact that it was one of the only sweatshirts that still fit this far into his pregnancy. "My sweatshirt doesn't fit." Shane folded his arms over his rounded midsection, brow scrunched together in the middle in an angry pout. Or Shane is getting bigger and is convinced Ilya is out to get him.

“Nothing serious,” Yuna says before Shane can reply. “I was just telling Shane about this great opportunity to work with a maternity athletic brand.” “I don’t really feel comfortable right now, Mom,” Shane tells her, grimacing as he looks down at the stretched fabric of the hoodie he’s wearing. “I’m not myself. I don’t think this is the Shane Hollander brands are expecting.” “You are beautiful, perfect, moy lyubimyy,” Ilya is quick to disagree. “Ilya is right,” Yuna says, “and Shane, they know you’re pregnant. That’s exactly why they want you! You’re breaking barriers for omegas in the NHL. A pregnant, star NHL player? Just think of how much hope young omegas would feel looking at you!” Ilya winces. He hadn’t meant for his comment to encourage Yuna this way. -Yuna books a brand shoot for Shane during his pregnancy, he says yes even though he really doesn't want to-

It was a funny story now when it came to telling the story of how their second child came to be. Shane's first pregnancy was…something. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't exactly a walk in the park and postpartum was rocky so when it boiled down to the question of — will there be another? The answer was always a really really soft no. Or the story of how Shane and Ilya baby trapped each other with baby number two.

Unravel Me, Unravel You by therogueskimo
Game Changers Series - Rachel Reid, Heated Rivalry (TV)

Every feeling that Ilya remembered having about Shane from the moment they’d set eyes on each other that first time came rushing back with such force that it nearly knocked Ilya on his feet. Shane looked exactly as he had the last time Ilya had laid eyes on him. Shorter than him by a solid three inches. Deceptively lean. A splash of freckles across his nose. Jaw sharp and clearly tight with what was probably a mixture of nerves and determination. He was, by all means, a very attractive person, something that Ilya had tried very hard to forget. Ilya clenched his jaw against that heady desire to protect and stuck out his hand. “Welcome to Centaurs, Hollander.” _______ All Ilya Rozanov wants is to lead the Ottawa Centaurs to the coveted Stanley Cup and be the kind, respectful alpha he was never taught to be. Enter Shane Hollander. Ilya refuses to let his curiosity towards Shane get in the way, which is hard to do when he’s staying in Ilya’s house. There’s also that strangely enticing scent that starts to follow him everywhere.

Shane and Ilya can handle the pressure of playing professional hockey. They can handle overtime, the stress that comes with being famous, the photoshoots, everything. They can handle a pregnancy with ease. They cannot, apparently, handle naming a human. Surely picking a name for their son shouldn’t be harder than winning a Stanley Cup.

"Okay it says here that we need to try all the major allergens on her before six months. That lessens her chances of being allergic so maybe just maybe she'll not be allergic to everything coming and going." Shane had read up on all this information early on, memorizing it, highlighting and printing Ilya out a copy of it with bullet points. Or the one where Sofia has a peanut allergy.

Whimpering, Shane looked down between their bodies. Ilya’s other hand dragged slowly down Shane’s chest, over his trembling stomach, and came to rest just below his navel. There, pressed against Ilya’s own abdomen, was a soft, distinct bulge.
“See?” Ilya whispered, his eyes glowing with a feral light. “That’s me. Inside you.”
He pressed down with his fingers, right on the bulge.
Shane screamed.

Ilya proffered his abilities in increments, edging closer and closer to their border with each passing day; a bundle of medicinal roots and herbs, near identical to their poisonous counterparts, to show his discernment. The next, an adult elk, heavy and muscled, its neck snapped cleanly and with minimal disturbance to the rest of the body, so that one may make use of its glossy, healthy pelt. Finally, a stack of firewood piled high, the very top of which rested his flint and steel, no small sacrifice to make in the face of one’s survival in the woods. Acceptance came in the form of the same flint and steel, returned to him at the spot which he left it, but this time wrapped around it with twine, was a slip of paper that read; welcome. * Or, lone wolf Ilya sets his sights on the pack leader’s only son, Shane. A courtship ensues.
