  1. Summer at the cottage was supposed to be relaxing. It turns into everything but—when Ilya drops “I could marry Svetlana” for an american visa like it’s a grocery list item. Shane’s face says over my dead body while Ilya, delighted, teases him for looking ready to commit “murder-suicide.” (He’s not wrong.) Shane Hollander has one big problem: he can’t let Ilya Rozanov marry anyone else. Not now. Not ever. So he does the unthinkable and proposes the most boring solution imaginable almost by accident. / Canon-Divergence /

  3. Ilya and Shane's rivalry finally reaches a new level during their rookie F1 season. 2025 - BAKU, AZERBAIJAN Ilya Rozanov was the most successful Russian driver in the history of Formula 1, even without winning the championship yet. Something that remained as dominant as his growing talent through the feeder series to even make it to F1 was his rivalry with Shane Hollander. If it was so impressive when they were in karts and all the way up to F2, their F1 rivalry would be one for the history books. Or at least it would have it's own Wikipedia page. The problem was they weren't just rivals anymore. It started in their rookie F1 season. A development in their relationship. Ilya had lost the championship, an impressive performance in his debut season to even be a challenger, but Shane Hollander had won. And it skyrocketed him to levels of fame in and outside of F1. But Ilya had won Monaco in that same season. One jewel in the triple crown of motorsport. The problem was so did Hollander, depending on which requirements you follow. The triple crown was to win the Indy 500, 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Monaco Grand Prix or the F1 World Champion. Or win Monaco and the championship in the same season, that’d be easier. Everything was theoretically easy. In reality, it was hard, and only 20 people in the world understood the pressures of an F1 driver at a time. Ilya had been promoted to Red Bull halfway through his debut season. Hollander raced for McLaren from the get go. If he had been in the Red Bull from the start of the season, then he may have clinched the title. No. He definitely would've. He was one with that car. It was built especially for his driving style while his teammates always struggled and ended up backmarkers in a car that was easily the fastest on track. If driven by Ilya. But he had no doubt if Hollander was his teammate, he could also be on the front row with him. Well, he already was. Just in a McLaren. And that papaya orange infuriated him. Their title fight in their rookie seasons had as many twists and turns as Jeddah Corniche, feeling emotions they didn't think possible. Ilya told himself it was only natural to be concerned about Hollander when they collided into the barriers together into turn 1 on lap 1. They were rivals, competitors. Not enemies. He had offered him his hand to help him from the cockpit. He could tell he appreciated it, and they had a calm conversation when Ilya had visited him in his drivers’ room after they were both done with medical checks and media duties. Except that was what scared him. They’d stopped arguing. Started talking. And when Hollander had won the next race in a move Ilya found dirty, they didn't argue. 2024 - SHANGHAI, CHINA Ilya’s argument died on his lips the moment he saw Hollander, stripped down to the waist with the top half of race suit hanging from waist, fireproof undershirt folded on a chair as he was in the middle of changing. “The only reason you’ve won so much is due to the car,” Ilya started, but didn't continue when Hollander didn't either.

The knock at his door comes about five minutes after Shane gets home, three minutes after Shane pees on the stupid sticks, one minute after Shane looks at the fucking pink plus signs, and about thirty seconds after tears spring to his eyes. Shane Hollander, professional hockey player and captain of the Montreal Metros, has a bun in the fucking oven. Or Shane and Ilya's enemies-with-benefits arrangement has some unintended consequences.

  5. Shane Hollander is everything the NHL wants him to be: a Golden Boy, a captain, a rivalry- ready face of the league. Ilya Rozanov is everything Shane isn’t allowed to want: sharp-tongued, unapologetic, and devastatingly magnetic. From a charged first collision to a decade of stolen nights, staged girlfriends, and a rivalry that burns hotter than hate ever could, Shane and Ilya build a love that survives only in hallways, hotel rooms, and the spaces where cameras can’t reach. But some ghosts don’t fade quietly—and some loves refuse to stay secret forever. A story about ambition, fear, glass walls, and choosing each other even when the world says it’s a disaster.

  6. “The fuck are you wearing, Roz?” Ilya jerked his head up and turned around. Cliff Marleau was staring at him with a puzzled expression. “A t-shirt, Marly,” Ilya said. “You’ve heard of them?” “Why the fuck are you wearing a Metros shirt though?” Marleau crossed his arms across his chest. What? Ilya was about to retort, something about Marleau taking too many hits to the head, but when he glanced down, he was surprised, then horrified to see the red and blue Montreal Metros logo in the dead centre of his white shirt. Shane’s white shirt. Fuck.

  7. “I need to sleep,” Ilya murmurs next to him on the bed, his voice distant. “Yeah, me too,” Shane rushes to agree. His fingers drum against his glass of vodka and he chugs the rest in one go. “I should, uh…” He moves to stand up off the bed, the soiled towel dropping from his stomach, and his knees buckle. Shane stumbles but remains upright, his vision blurry. But the glass in his hands slips from his trembling fingers, and, to his absolute horror, shatters all across the floor of Ilya’s penthouse suite. ---- After the hookup where Shane and Ilya didn’t kiss, Shane nearly passes out in his rival’s hotel room.

  8. Ilya Rozanov is the thorn in Shane's side. He's rude, cocky, stressfully perceptive, and his stats are the only ones better than Shane's in the whole OUA. Even worse, they play on the same team, and the only person who might beat Shane out for the C next year is Rozanov. Ilya and Shane are so at odds they can't even manage to complete a stupid challenge at Playoff Camp without making fools of themselves and, according to Hazy, getting cursed. It's frustrating and embarrassing, until it becomes clear that the curse is very very real and it becomes horrifying instead. For the next six weeks (at least) Shane is stuck by Ilya's side, unable to go more than a few feet away without unbearable pain. Now, they somehow have to pull off going to class, winning the playoffs, and not killing each other, not to mention keeping their secret from their friends and teammates. Shane is so fucked.
