"биполярное расстройство." Shane was quiet for a moment, ticking through the words he had learned and picked up over the years. As Ilya suspected, this was not one of them. Inevitably he asked, "what does it mean?" It was Ilya's turn to be quiet. Or a continuation of Ilya getting mental health treatment after the Long Game ends that nobody asked for and him coming to terms with being diagnosed with bipolar 2.

He’s almost at his own door when the muffled sound of his own name catches his attention. “ —like an idiot. Scott Hunter is right next door.” Scott pauses, blinking. He then finds himself unconsciously stepping towards the door his name was uttered behind— before he abruptly freezes, eyes locking on the room number. It’s the room directly next to his own. The one Rozanov had walked out of just this morning. But that voice… it’s vaguely familiar, and it certainly doesn’t belong to Rozanov. Or: Scott Hunter has the unfortunate experience of rooming next to Ilya Rozanov at the 2011 All-Stars.

Alone in his room, Ilya smiled. Not the public-facing smirk he used as a mask in daily conversation, not the silly slant he offered teammates and staff. No, this was a real, big goofy smile. A smile he’d unconsciously tucked away for months, maybe even years. It almost felt foreign to smile this big. He needed to call Shane. With a sigh, Shane set his book on the nightstand. He couldn’t focus on it at all, so he might at least try to sleep. After checking his phone—no texts from his fiancé—and turning off the light, he laid down to sleep. About five minutes later, his phone rang.
