    As Boston’s General Manager, Barry had plenty of professional goals for his evening at the NHL awards. His singular personal goal, however, was to see Coach Theriault pop a fucking blood vessel.

    He and LeClaire had already succeeded in trapping Theriault in conversation when Barry heard a very familiar Russian accent from over by the bar.

    Well, a good manager knows how to delegate.

    Barry waved Rozanov over to join them. Yuna Hollander noticed and stuck close to the kid’s side, her sharp gaze assessing as she too moved to join the conversation. Even better. Even fucking better.

    Beside him, Theriault’s face had already turned a dangerous shade of red.

    Shane and Ilya once knew each other in what feels like another life. Years later, Shane has transitioned, buried his past and finally embraced his truest self. He comes to McGill to play on the men’s hockey team—only to find his roommate is Ilya Rozanov.

    “Sorry—um.” Shane swallowed. “I’m Shane.”

    Something passed across Ilya’s face, quick and unreadable. Shane’s pulse spiked, thudding loud in his ears. Did he know? If Ilya recognized him—if something clicked—what would stop him from telling the coaches? What would stop him from telling everyone?
    Then Ilya smoothed it away, the moment gone as if it had never existed.

    “Huh,” he said. “Funny. I used to know a Shane. Pretty girl. Good at hockey.”

Shane knew this, and he was determined to show Ilya what he could do on the ice and in bed. Unfortunately, at the end of the game, Ilya Rozanov snapped, and Shane seemed to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, getting caught in the fray. He actually enjoyed it more then he thought.
