“When was the last time you ate or drank anything?” Yuna quickly scans the bedside tables. There’s a mug with a dried brown bottom and a can of coke, presumably empty, since it’s lying on its side without any spills. The mountain of covers shifts once as if Ilya shrugs underneath. She’s certain he’s not eaten anything that day, and maybe even the day before. “I brought soup. I can heat some up and bring it over to the bed?” --- Yuna Hollander takes care of Ilya Rozanov during one of his “quiet” episodes and attempts to communicate through the universal love language of food.

“I just can’t wrap my head around this…this whole thing.” Yuna takes a gulp of her coffee and picks at the pain au chocolat without actually taking a bite. She should really eat something at this rate but it looks too dry.

David moves the pastry plate closer to him so he can break a croissant in half without flakes flying everywhere and only mostly succeeds. “There isn’t much to get. He’s closer to thirty than he is to twenty now. He doesn’t have to tell us everything.”

    ---

What it says on the tin. Yuna embarks on a journey to learn about Shane, Ilya, and Shane&Ilya. Set in the liminal space between Book 2 and Book 6.

Yuna stared at the phone in her hand while David went out in search of coffee. She got the number from Shane’s phone after learning the name from Hayden (This girl he’s been texting with for a long time, years, uhm she might be his sort-of-girlfriend?). She was simply listed in Shane’s contacts under “Lily”, no last name. She didn’t check their chat history because she valued her relationship with Shane, but it was a close call.

Yuna Hollander gets ahold of Lily’s phone number after Shane’s injury and starts texting her.

Of course Yuna has a burner account, not just one, many in fact. She uses them for her job as Shane’s manager, to keep tabs on hockey news, the league, rumor mills, and on occasion, Rozanov.

    ———

How Yuna comes to care for Ilya through twitter before ever meeting him. AKA Ilya clinches the title ‘favourite son’ arguably before Shane’s parents find out about their relationship.
