“Oh my god, oh my god. Seriously, this is the best. I can’t believe you’re my neighbour. I’m calling it now, Hollander. This right here is the beginning of a friendship that will go down in history.” Ilya is 10 years old when his family moves from Jacksonville, Florida to small town Ontario. There, he forms an unexpected friendship with Shane, the boy living on the ginseng farm across the street. As they grow up and grow apart, their paths continue to cross at high school hockey games, in tabloid articles, and at one particular intimate Muskoka cottage. OR: A childhood friends to strangers to lovers AU in which Shane Hollander (up and coming indie rock star) and Ilya Rozanov (brooding artist) take nearly fifteen years to figure their shit out.

PopCrave @PopCrave Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander set to battle it out AGAIN for the #1 spot on this week's Apple Music Charts. [Attached are two photos from their latest concerts. Ilya is dripping in sweat, microphone in hand and a cheeky, toothy grin on his face. Hands are reaching up from the audience to worship him like they’re in gospel. Shane’s stage is swamped in a deep blue light, it’s just him with a bass guitar on stage. His eyes are closed and the crowd has their flashlights pointed towards him.] or Shane and Ilya are rival popstars coming through the ranks. People online are just a little obsessed with them.

The crowd was intense tonight. There was a push and pull that added to the thrumming feeling under his skin, only heightened by the small, stolen moments with Ilya. Every time Ilya would glance over, he’d find Shane’s eyes on him and his lips would tick up into a smile. Sometimes, when Ilya was at the other side of the stage, Shane would flick his eyes up to the screen next to them and look at the close up of Ilya’s curls sticking to his skin and the bead of sweat sliding down his neck.
Ilya Rozanov is the charismatic lead singer of Overtime Lights. Shane Hollander plays hockey and doesn't know anything about music. A night in New York leads to the reveal of their secret relationship.
