In 2016, Shane's career ended; it was also the year he last spoke to Ilya. Nearly a decade later, it’s 2025. Shane is the mayor of Boston, Ilya has just won his fourth Stanley Cup with the Bears, and a celebratory dinner throws them back into each other’s orbit. In January 2017, the Montreal Voyageurs ceased to exist.
