After winning the Stanley Cup in 2023, the Ottawa Centaurs Rookies are drunk and making wishes only to end up in Tampa Bay in 2017. Step one when something goes wrong and you need an adult? Find Team Dads Ilya and Shane. This can't go wrong.

Basically I drop the Centaur's rookies into 2017 as a plot device for shenanigans and fixing Hollanov's relationship. Then I send them home and let the butterfly effect run rampant.

Over the summer, Cliff Marlow made the decision to leave the team he won a Cup with, his hometown, and the only place he'd ever known to move to a different country, a terrible team, and basically the middle of nowhere.

And so far, he hasn't regretted it for a single second.

Or: a continuation of i know the sound of your heart showing moments from Cliff and Ilya's first season with the centaurs, a couple of shocking revelations (though they really shouldn't have been), and, of course, Cliff Marlow being the most loyal friend anyone could ask for.

Rose: I’m serious, I think my gaydar is actively trying to sabotage me now.
    Shane: What do you mean?
Rose: [Article: Rose Landry’s Inability to Hold Down a Man: What’s Wrong with Her?]
    Shane: What the fuck?
    Shane: They’re serious?
Rose: Yup. Maybe I can borrow Ilya’s gaydar. Think he’d let me?

OR: Rose needs Ilya's help to find a boyfriend.

5 times Cliff Marlow realized something had changed with Ilya Rozanov leading up to his transfer to Ottawa + 1 (what he decided to do about it)

or: canon compliant but slightly canon divergent, set in between the events of Heated Rivalry and The Long Game

or: Cliff Marlow's perspective of Ilya's last season in Boston while him and Shane are boyfriends

or: Cliff Marlow is not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's a loyal fucking friend

Cliff has no clue how to help Roz, but when he sees him struggling after his Montreal girl dumps him, he knows he’s going to have to figure it out. Whether Roz wants him to or not.

Ilya very much does not want to be helped right now, but thankfully for Ilya, Cliff is not asking his opinion on the matter.
