Ilya is sick. Shane comes to the rescue. Fluff ensues. "Ilya was sick, and he was furious. He did not get sick. Certainly not sick enough to get benched for a night, and yet here he was, staring at his reddened eyes as he gripped the sink in his stupid apartment, resisting the urge to cough." Or: What if Ilya had gotten sick and thus not been playing during a Boston/Montreal game in Boston? What if Shane had come to take care of him? What if they had finally had a moment where both of their walls had been down, far earlier in their relationship?
