Summary:

"When did you guys fall in love?" "Guys," their teacher warned. "That's not a question about their careers." Ilya was already looking at him when Shane glanced over, wearing that stupidly fond smile. Shane felt his own lips twitch in response before he could help it. "Is very good question, actually," Ilya announced to the room. "Hard to say exact moment." He tilted his head. "But pretty fast, I think." Shane's chest clenched. The classroom full of nine-year-olds dissolved. Max's mortification somewhere in the background didn't register. For a moment, Shane was seventeen years old again, watching Ilya Rozanov highlights for the tenth time that week and running out of ways to explain why. "Yeah," Shane said, voice catching slightly. "Pretty fast." Shane and Ilya attend career day at their son's elementary school. It ends with Shane going off on another parent and embarrassing their son.
