This is impossible, but now that Svetlana's witnessing it, it seems inevitable. Of course Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander are in love. No one else could possibly be better matched.
By the end of the night, she's cuddled up with Ilya–her face tucked into his neck–and there isn't an ounce of jealousy on Shane's face as he looks at them through the video call. If anything, he looks fond to see his boyfriend loved by someone else.

Rose studies him in a way that makes Ilya squirm. "You know, Shane tried to brace me for working with you today and so far you're much quieter than he led me to believe."
This conversation was made in a lab to drag Ilya further into his depression. "Really," he says dryly. "What did golden boy of hockey have to say about me?"
Rose snorts. "That you'd talk shit about him if I mentioned him so I shouldn't. That you're always being abrasive to the press, but when the cameras are off you're not so bad."
Ilya chooses the safest thing in that to respond to. "Well, the cameras are off."
"They are," Rose smiles at him.

Ilya booked a small film role a year ago with no way to know he'd end up being scene partners with Rose Landry, Shane Hollander's new girlfriend.
