“Okay. That part I get. But fuck, man, why him?” Hayden barked. “Dude,” Shane said, running a hand through his hair, “I’ve already told you—” “No!” Hayden cut him off, voice cracking with a mix of frustration and disbelief. “No, no, no! You told us why you love Lily! You said he challenges you, he makes room for you, all that soft, romantic stuff—but there isn’t a shred of proof that that sweet, slightly awkward, totally manageable guy could possibly be Rozanov. Rozanov! The guy people usually want to beat the shit out of on the ice! And you love him?” Shane pinched the bridge of his nose, exhaling slowly. “Yes. I love him." Hayden froze mid-gesture, eyes wide, as if Shane had just announced he was going to join a cult. “Him? Really? Him?” Amber's fussing turned both men to Jackie who was raising an eyebrow at her husband. "You are going to have to calm down, Hayden. If you hadn't been so busy fighting when Shane got hurt, maybe you would have noticed that Ilya tried to leave with him?" "Ilya?! Since when the fuck do you call him Ilya?!" ----- Shane comes out to the Pikes
