  2. Snippets of articles and subreddit drama detailing reactions leading up to the re-airing of the Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov documentary on July 18th on ESPN2. blindgossip.com The #1 Blind Item Site in the World! HOME | LOGIN | PRIVACY POLICY | RSS | SOLVED BLIND ITEMS | TOS | TWITTER Sports Blind Item #1102 | A Relationship Years in the Making | July 05, 2021 Back in March, two famous NHL players were forced out of the closet unintentionally by another player on accident through a service called FanMail. So, let’s start with FanMail: FanMail, a video platform for celebrities to rake in extra cash to wish peasants like us happy birthdays, was taken down for a week in March while they were sorting out a ‘technical issue.’ The reason? There was no feature to review a video before posting, which was why it was taken down (users had to use Cameo instead, which has more expensive fees than FanMail). Many sports stars use FanMail, including NHL players, because they genuinely want to connect with their fans. But what’s this got to do with Ice Hockey, BG? The NHL was famously known for having no openly LGBT players, up until a few years ago, until Scott Hunter famously kissed Christopher "Kip" Grady after winning the Stanley Cup for the New York Admirals in 2017. Over North America, teams like to take part in inclusive Pride Nights, sell rainbow jerseys and merch, while making sure everyone knows that Hockey is for Everyone while donating millions to LGBT charities. And yet, in the entire history of the NHL, only two players who are currently active have ever come out publicly. Hockey is a complicated and nuanced game, after all. Who is in our cast for this blind today? Today’s cast features the following: Let's call them Player #1, Player #2, and Player #3. Let’s start with Player #1: Player #1 is your classic sweetheart NHL star with no controversies. He has an impressive resume with plenty of brands and awards tucked under his belt. He is also fiercely private about his personal life, with rumours over the years have hinted that he might be gay. Player #1 and Player #2 are “rivals”. Player #2 is a foreign-born player who’s bounced his way in and out of puck bunnies all over America until a few years ago. A true hockey pest, he never shies away from poking fun at other players or saying exactly what’s on his mind during games - usually in his first language, Refrigerator! Player #3 is on the same team as Player #1, but is not close with Player #2. Now, about FanMail: Player #3 made a FanMail post while at Player #1’s house, in his backyard. He sent the video, not realising that you can see in the background, Player #1 and Player #2 were making out in the house. The video was quickly reposted to Twitter by the recipient of this video. It wasn’t seen by many normies, as it was tagged to 50+ chronically online NHL players and their WAGs. It was taken down before the video could potentially spread like wildfire. The NHL quickly lawyered up and sent the recipient a rather threatening letter to keep the video quiet. But it had already been seen by other WAGs and players who had been tagged in it and a thus, copy of the video ended up in their respective group chats. What makes this so controversial? The truth is, Blind fans, this hot rivalry of a relationship has been going on, quietly, behind everyone else’s back, even from other players (Except it seemed Player #3). Sources are suggesting it goes back at least A DECADE. Player 1# and Player #2 have claimed to hate each other for years. They chirp on the ice, off the ice, check each other into the boards, and occasionally end up with Player #2 trying to trip Player #1 with his stick. Player #2 shocked his fans by switching teams a few years ago, to a team only a few hours away from Player #1 - now we know why! It is obvious that it was to be nearer to his partner. Player #1 hasn’t had a good time since The Outing. He does not get invited to events hosted by WAGs anymore, and his contract has not been renewed with his usual team next season, even though he is their star player and has been with them for many years. Player #2, by contrast, hasn’t had any issues with The Outing. His team are very supportive of him. Woof! Player #3, bless his soul, was mortified by the whole thing. He apologised endlessly, but like Player #1, his contract won’t be renewed next season either. They’ll probably end up going to Player #2’s team, who are much nicer players and more fun to be around, even though they're terrible on the ice. Oh, and did we mention Player #1 and #2 are engaged? Why are we talking about it now? The NHL tried to keep FanMail and some other players quiet, but after a recent reshuffle upstairs to attempt to rebrand, it seemed the timing was finally right to air out this long-hidden closet. Player #1 and #2 don't want to hide themselves anymore and the NHL have given up trying to keep this contained. And what better way than to tell North America this via an upcoming documentary, which is much classier than a random Instagram post, to announce their impending marriage? Get ready, internet. Meltdown is imminent when it airs. 7 Comments | Sorted by: ↑ Top Rated

Unfortunately, this meant Hayden was picking up Ilya’s phone for the wrong reasons. While Hayden keeps picking up the wrong phone, he's catching pieces of Rozanov's life he was never meant to see.

  4. When Ilya signs with the Ottawa Centaurs, everyone wants to know why he moved. Turns out, he married a Canadian. Her name is Jane. Or so the team believes - because Ilya never bothers to correct them. It was the start of a new season, so Coach got up with a clipboard and announced the new members of the team. “We aren't getting any drafted rookies. This year. We've got some veterans coming in. Our new players this year who will be joining the Centaurs are Wyatt Hayes and Ilya Rozanov.” The meeting room went silent. Did the Centaurs hear that right? “...Wyatt Hayes is a goalkeeper,” said the captain, Zane Boodram, slowly, while the other players unfroze and looked around at each other. “But did we hear the second one correctly?” “Yes,” said Coach. “Ilya Rozanov.” “Why is Ilya Rozanov joining the Centaurs?” Asked Evan Dykstra. Coach shrugged. “Don’t know.” “Can you afford Rozanov?” “We can. We're not capped out yet," said Coach, putting his clipboard down, “Rozanov requested to be put here. For some reason, I have no idea why. At this point in time, it would be good to have him on our team. Perhaps he might be able to change that losing streak of ours.” At this point, there was a knock on the door, and Wyatt came in, looking a bit nervous, whereas Rozanov strode in confidently behind him. Was there something wrong with Rozanov's visa? Did he commit a crime in the United States and was on the run? Did he get thrown out of Boston? The other players knew how he played on the rink. He was one of the biggest ice hockey Pests of all time according to a recent poll on ESPN. Wyatt Hayes on the other hand had come from Toronto Guardians, and had no controversies. Did the Centaurs really want someone with a history like Rozanov on their team? The team didn’t even greet them. They just stared at Rozanov, not even noticing Wyatt Hayes who was starting to look a bit confused. “Stop making them uncomfortable. You men are usually the chattiest, freakiest lot I've ever coached. Get over the fact we've got Rozanov now. Now, you take your new team members to Monk's,” said Coach. “That's an order.” *** Monk's was a tavern not far from the practice rink. The team migrated to the dark sports bar that smelled faintly of cigarette smoke. Neon signs flickered in the corners, and the walls were covered with framed jerseys, autographed pucks, and faded posters of long-forgotten championships. A large screen over the bar showed an American football game. Rozanov felt quite cheerful to be with a different team, even though the rest of the team seemed uneasy with him. Wyatt Hayes stuck close, and he poked at a plate of chicken wings, while Rozanov appeared completely relaxed, like he owned the place. The bar was also used as their training cafeteria, so it had dished out the usual orders - fries, buffalo wings, pickles - and also pregame/training meals that were crimes against humanity. “So… why exactly did you move here, Rozanov?” one of the forwards asked, trying to sound casual but failing. Rozanov shrugged. “Needed to be closer,” he said, voice calm, almost bored. He took a chicken wing from Wyatt's plate, getting buffalo sauce all over his fingers. “Closer to what? We have no secrets.” Said Mile LePointe, leaning in closer. “Ignore LePointe. He's a slut for gossip. Closer in Canada, Rozanov? To what? Closer to… a lady friend?” Another player suggested. “Hmm,” said Rozanov, not giving anything away, licking his fingers. "Good wings." Oh yes. The team recognised that tone of question - avoidant. When a close team like the Centaurs knew each others gossip, because, as Coach stated, they were freaks. “W ife? Partner? Spouse?” LaPointe said, slowly. “Are you married?” Rozanov didn't say anything. “Oh he definitely is,” said Harris, the Centaurs social media manager, who was sitting on the other side of Wyatt. “That silence is usually a bit fat fucking yes.” Rozanov took a sip of his drink. He sighed, then slowly took out his necklace, a crucifix. There was a ring threaded through the chain. “You’re not to tell,” he immediately said to the team. “Don’t you dare.” Harris put his hands up. “We’re not blabbers!” “You look like one.” "Technically, that's my job-" "No telling! I mean it!" “Hey,” Boodram snapped at Rozanov, “You may be a Pest, but don’t take it out on Harris. He’s new, too.” “Oh.” Then, almost to himself, Rozanov looked at his fries and muttered under his breath something like, “Jane.” The room went silent, except for the football on the television. “Wait… Jane?” "Who's Jane, Rozanov?"

“I want to impress Brayden.” Shane didn’t even look up. “It’s Hayden. Please do not start.” “I never start,” Ilya said, offended. “I only continue.” Ilya never calls Hayden by his actual name just to annoy him. Years later, Hayden returns the favour in the most satisfying way.
