Summary:

“Hi Irina.” Ilya feels his blood still in his veins. His vision almost immediately blurs at the sound of his mother’s name falling so gently from Shane’s lips. Shane rambles something, almost to himself, before: “I’m Shane. Shane Hollander. And I’m in love with your son, Ilya.” Ilya’s breath catches, heart lurching in his chest, fluttering almost painfully as the realization hits him: He’s introducing himself to her. . . or Shane talks to Ilya’s mom, Ilya overhears.
