1987. New York Admirals Captain Scott Hunter is fifteen seasons deep into the kind of hockey career most players can only dream of and keeping one hell of a secret. He navigates his life in NYC, intimately aware at every turn that a single photograph or a trace of a rumor could end his livelihood.

Kip Grady has never known how to hide. A grad student and early organizer for ACT UP, he spends his days marching through the Village and organizing mutual aid, fighting for a queer community battling for its life against a devastating epidemic. When their paths cross, Scott is forced to consider the limits of his carefully constructed closet and decide if he is finally ready to stand in the light.

OR: Scott and Kip meet in 80s NYC at the height of the AIDS crisis.

    Additional Spoilers Here

I promise that these characters do not, at any point, contract HIV: Scott, Kip, Ilya, and Shane.

Scott and Kip, as well as Shane and Ilya, will all have the happiest ending possible given the constraints of the time period.
