Summary:

“No, I mean you and Shane – I mean, Jane. You’ve made up.”

Ilya lurches towards her, halfway out of his seat before his brain catches up with him. He lets himself drop back into the couch, though the smug glimmer on Sveta’s face tells him the damage is done. He’s given the game away.

That doesn’t mean he can’t try regardless. “That’s – no, I don’t know a Shane,” he protests.

After the cottage, Svetlana lets on she knows, Ilya tries to play dumb, and Shane takes it a lot better than Ilya may have ever dreamed – roughly in that order.
